If you're mattress shopping you need to know that you more or less get what you pay for. Cheap mattresses aren't cheap in the long run if you count in lower back pain and lost quality sleep. But you don't have to overpay for better quality mattresses if you avoid the furniture stores and the furniture departments in department stores. This is also one area where you're not going to be able to get a better deal online. I've tried all three of these options. The furniture and department stores never give you the information you need to actually comparison shop, they have overly complex intentionally confusing price packages and discounts on inflated prices with different names on specific mattresses from both big name and smaller name manufacturers. Save yourself time and frustration, avoid these places for mattresses, even if you're furnishing a whole bedroom. Your only best bet is to shop at mattress only stores, a very strange niche market. There's two choices the way I see it, based on spending way too much time on this. There is Mattress Firm, with helpful sales people, good showrooms with lots of choices, good prices, and generally good delivery. It's going to be hard to compare directly because HassleLess will have very comparable mattresses made by the same manufacturers with different names. I think there is less hassle (really) and slightly lower prices at HassleLess than at Mattress Firm, but I really think the thing to do is to go to both places before buying. And either way, get the very best mattress you can afford, it's a 10 year commitment to take care of your body for 8 hours a day.

I wish…read moreI was exaggerating, but I dropped off my gaming laptop with a pretty gnarly screen dislocation on it. They took apart the entire device, screen and all, only for them to realize it was unfixable due to the way the motherboard was built. My laptop was at least usable before, now it has no screen and is basically split into two pieces. What's even worse is that I went to discuss what happened and the store manager had the audacity to ask "Do you want to call him to see what he wants to do?" Umm.....bold assumption to think that I was not the one using the device. I then corrected him that I was the owner of the device, not any male related to me. He remarked that I'm one of just a few pc gamers that are female. Even if that may be true, it was wildly unprofessional and off putting. I'll never forget that icky feeling I had when I left the store. He didn't bother to refund me the service cost even though all he did was take it apart and destroy what I had left of it. I'm sure these guys are reliable otherwise, but I don't think I'll be back based on this doozy of an experience.

We went into Mattress Firm on a Sunday afternoon just to look. It had been years since either of us…read moreshopped for a mattress - (many sleepless nights- not even sleeping in the same bed anymore, sore necks and backs. All the makings of super tired zombies at work.) Tom brought us up to date in what was happening in the mattress world - He was awesome! Very knowledgable on everything bed/mattress related, personable and not pushy in any way. Our mattress experience started like the three bears. First mattress we tried was too soft, 2nd too hard, 3rd just right! Although we tried many other mattresses we kept going back to that 3rd mattress. We came back a week later to buy our mattress. Tom really took care of us us. I thought he was kidding when he said we could have it delivered same day (Who does that? how incredible!)
