I went to the Garland avenue store today for 1 item. I found what I needed quickly. ...Got to the checkout area and no one was there. Some activity in the print services area but no one acknowledged that I was there much less available to check me out. I was in a hurry so after several minutes, I placed the item on the counter and left. When I got home I immediately went to Amazon and ordered the exact same item. It will arrive today by 6:03 pm. I paid $4.99 for same day delivery but it ended up being the same cost. I would have preferred getting it at Office Depot to support a local store rather than Bezos. read more

The store itself is fine, great variety of products, everything you possibly could need. My problem is the staff. I was in the store today for around 20 minutes and not one person asked me if I needed assistance. I found what I needed, no problem there, but when I went to check out, the guy walks up, doesn't say hello, doesn't acknowledge me in any way, rings up my stuff and hands me my receipt. No "thank you," no "have a good day," no anything. Never made eye contact, never said a word. Really pissed me off and I'm tired of retail staff acting like this. The Most disappointing visit to Office Depot Ever! I Run a Design, Engineer, Build Company. I frequently go to Office Depots throughout the DFW metroplex almost on a daily basis. To print plans for a multitude of jobs. I just so happen to be in Garland TX today on a new job. I only needed (ONE) piece of paper printed for me to be able to annotate notes and measurements on. The Man behind the counter said he I have to come back tonight because he had other print jobs ahead of me. I was literally the only customer in the store. I am absolutely appalled by the way he spoke to me! I have never experienced such poor customer service before in my life! My Company going forward will never use Office Depot ever again for anything! read more

I should have paid attention to all of the negative reviews of this location. They really are that bad. I submitted an online order, 11x8.5, and when I picked it up it was trimmed. The clerk said I checked the "cutting to bleed" option, which I did not. She insisted someone had checked that option! I asked if she was calling me a liar, because she was so argumentative, and kept saying over and over that someone had checked the option! Then she just walked away, so I just left with useless documents. I went back to the office and went through the same order process, and guess what, there WERE NO OPTIONS TO BE SELECTED. The only add-on I selected was the highest quality paper. So after accusing me of lying about my order, SHE was the one lying because you cannot make that selection! Wow, such exceptionally bad service and a horrible way to treat customers! Stay far away from this location. read more

I witnessed an extraordinary demonstration of excellence in customer service by two employees at this store. One female customer hadn't signed for counter help and was screaming at the young gentleman behind the counter for making her wait.... He explained to her that she needed to sign in to get on line. She continued her verbal abuse accusing him of ignoring her and doing the same every time she came in to the store. I noticed him calling someday for assistance. A young lady, I think her name was Debbie, came over to deal with this lady.. for several minutes the verbal abuse continued directed now the the young lady. I was so impressed by the patience of this employee. She continued to work with the lady ...I do remember the many times this young lady said " yes ma'am, no ma'am, you're welcome ma'am". It was just an incredible expression of decency, patience and customer service. In the end, I don't think the angry customer bought anything but do remember her saying that it was her first time at the store. Why then did she accuse the young man behind the counter of ignoring her everytime she came to the store? I received great service as always. Kudos to these two employees. read more

print with Office Depot all the time. Generally good experience staff members are super nice and helpful. Came to the garland store and Kenneth was extremely rude. I tried to say okay thank you to end the conversation and he continued to be rude. I placed a print job online and usually they would be ready within hours. I didn't sign up for text and he kept asking me if I got a text and I told him no I didn't sign up for text. He told me I should be last. Even though the nice associate Samantha has said she was working on it and I told her okay thank you. As I waited. He continues to be rude. He wasn't even behind the counter so I don't understand why he was even continuing talking to me. Try to tell me it would be ready tomorrow. I'm a teacher who extends grace and patience and prints from Office Depot continually. But I have never in my years had some one like Kenneth be so rude in tone and body language before. I had to cut him off and say "okay I understand"" firmly for him to finally back off. Samantha already was printing my things so I just did not understand what his point of specifically coming to me and trying to put me down were. He kept telling me you put your order too late which I place before the store even opened. He was like you need to be last. Maybe tomorrow. He wouldn't drop it even though the associate had already said she was working on it. If he's so upset he shouldn't be there and taking it out on the customers. He was just so rude. Needless to say I will stick to other office depots and avoid this one just to never have to interact with him. read more

I came here with my sister to enlarge a photograph which I would assume was a simple task. As We waited in line, a man cut in front of us and the women at the front desk decided to help him even though we were there first. We decided to let it go because we usually don't like to complain. We then waited for about 15 more minutes before being helped at all. Total wait time was around 20 minutes just to be helped. I just wish the service was better. read more

I don't know why people rate this location so horribly. I had color printing and laminating service here many times. The service was great and fast. However, there is always shortage of staff, and the price is higher compare to the printing service at Staples. If OD could improve on those two concerns, I would give it 5 stars. Its an Office Depot so it is the same anywhere you go as far as product. The difference here is lack of service. Went into the store last week to buy a new computer desk chair for my dad. He had just come home from the hospital, can't drive, and needed something with a little more padding. So I spent 30 minutes walking around the store waiting on someone to ask me if I needed help. When I finally tracked down what seemed to be a manager, she wasn't much help, and I left and went to target while they figured it out. Came back 20 min later and it was ready to go. And it was a pricey chair, so you're welcome. I unloaded the box into my dads garage so that his friend could come put it together for him on christmas. I had to come back to Illinois where I am stationed. My dad just sent me a photo of the chair all together. Thanks a lot, Office Depot. You gave me the wrong color. I've had really bad experiences here and then once in a blue moon we get exceptional service. I guess it just depends on who and when they service you. The print center staff can use more customer training especially with how to communicate effectively to customers and how to manage lines and a simple concept of First in First out. They've messed up our orders and didn't have the courtesy to apologize or make it correct. Although we will continue to use this location, reluctantly, unfortunately there's not any other office supply stores nearby. read more

January 11th, Rachael informed me that it would take approximately 3 days to spiral bind 2 small documents. No other customers were in the storm as there were other Employees. She said she was too busy to do it. So I went to FedEx in Murphy, TX on FM 554 and Brand. Came here to print a sheet of paper when my printer at home was out of ink, I was able to get in and out very easily here at Office Depot. It was 94¢. They may be understaffed, but the people who are there are incredibly nice and make sure to give you attention as soon as they can. I stood there for 15 minutes watching one woman help two people in front of me while another employee shuffled paper around and a third dug in her purse. I have used the Copy and Print Depot 5 times in the last few months and every time I was in line for more than 20 minutes, even though I called to make sure my order was ready before I arrived. My husband and I were looking to buy a desk and as we're deciding which one we want, an older store employee comes up to us and tells us they are closing the register and we need to purchase or leave...looking confused I told the man I didn't realize they closed so early? We took a few more minutes and decided we didn't want to rush our decision or make them stay any later so we left. When leaving they already had the door locked and the security gate closed and had to unlock and push it up for us. As we get into the car we see it's 6:11, surprised it was so early we looked at their store hours...they close at 7 pm on Sunday's. I've lived in this area for 14 years and have shopped here off and on, Everyone there is always friendly and helpful. I usually buy my computers online or at Best Buy but thought I would give Office Depot a try. I have to share the awesome experience I had with this store, namely the managers Teresa and Hank, I purchased a Toshiba laptop that was defective after about 2.5 weeks, which was outside of their 14 day return policy so I had to ship it to Toshiba direct, The backing of the screen was coming undone as well as one of the hinges that mounts the monitor to the computer/keyboard was loosening up. Toshiba was wanting to charge me $340 to fix it. They said they needed to replace the whole monitor. I inquired about simply fixing the two items I mentioned above and they kept repeating the whole monitor needs to be replaced, period. I refused to pay that much for a 2.5 week old laptop that I am so careful with. I decided to try to get some help from where I purchased it. When I approached Teresa, she was very understanding, patient and listened very well. You can tell she has had extensive training in customer service skills. She said she would take it up with Toshiba and her manager,Hank, if needed. A few days later Hank called me up and asked me to give a brief synopsis of what happened so I told him. He said even though this is really Toshiba's responsibility, he would be more than happy to exchange it because he didn't want me to have any bad feelings towards Office Depot. That is simply 5 star customer service. This time I also bought the 2 year Office Depot. protection plan.It covers everything, including dropping it, spilling liquids on it, etc. Just as a side note, my father inlaw purchased a laptop at another big retailer (that I won't name) because it was very inexpensive. About a month into it he stared having problems with it as well (outside of the 14 day return). He had to work directly with the manufacturer and encountered the same problems I did. He tried to go back to the retailer and they told him he is out of luck, I told him my experience with Office Depot and he was very impressed and will remember that the next time he buys any electronics. read more

Print center is miserable, slow, and incompetent. I've never come in here and left in a reasonable amount of time. Why I am even given this place continual patronage is beyond me, but that's over now. They seriously take an unreasonable amount of time. Once when I went there for a couple of copies that I emailed to them prior to arriving at TAC an hour and a half to get the copies. That's just crazy! Another time it took 45 minutes. I just went there the other day and it took about 30 minutes to get one copy of something that I had emailed to them prior to arriving. Each time I thought I should just leave and go somewhere else, but because I had wasted time driving over there, parking, and waiting. I thought it would probably be a longer period of time for me to go someplace else. Next time I'll just start at a different print shop to begin with. Drive the extra distance and use the other print shop! read more

Garland Ave. on a Sunday a few weeks ago to look at L - Shaped Desks and office desk chairs. We found the perfect desk and chair. David and Ramiro worked with us to order both online including an online coupon. They spent a lot of time and effort to make sure we got the best pricing and free shipping. The shipping dates were set and they were both delivered on the exact estimated date of delivery. Boxes were securely packaged and arrived undamaged. We opted for assembly through their Apollo assembly service. Best value for our money that we have ever had ! Apollo's assembler, Glen Yaekell , arrived on the estimated date at the exact scheduled time. He was in our home for about an hour and assembled both the desk and chair. Great Job !
