The vibe of the place is youthful vigour with a mix of startup energy. With multiple machines going, this cafe is really able to put out an amazing quantity of coffee really quickly. As for the quality of the coffee, the crema on my mac was great. Not too much milk, not burnt, and not watery or over espressed....but... while everything else was pointing to a really awesome coffee, the flavour lack a robustness that I was expecting. It could be that my palate was effected by a nice strong cup of coffee made with the Golden Cobra earlier in the morning, but what ever it was, the coffee missed ... something. That said, I think this cafe is awesome at what they do. Getting the level of awesome service that thy give, and the speed counts for a heck of a lot when people are in a rush to get to and from work. Perhaps next time I go back the coffee will be different (though I did notice an option for a single origin coffee...). They have also just announced they are open from 9-1530 on Saturdays, which can really be handy if in the area. I'm a bit of a sparkling fanatic so I was pleasantly surprised to see and drink it - Although the bubbles are heavy and far between if you know what I mean, not that I'm complaining. Other comments: Coffee beans and roasting is different week to week. I would letting them know your palette "requirements" and see what they recommend. I personally see a few Kenyan beans there and I love the acidic and fruity overtones that dominate the coffee in the short black/expresso. Give it a go if black is your thing. Personally not the joints that are going to give you a great "service" experience if you were expecting that. Most of the top joints deliver on that though. Regs: 3.50 aud black 4aud with milk

Friendly and relaxed staff pump out coffees to the commuters and then keep the coffee flowing throughout the day. There were a few treats to try including the in vogue cruffin which was a sweet treat to help us through our afternoon. Hey, it's not like there's space for much stock, and coffee is certainly the priority. Will certainly go out of my way to get a coffee here in future, whenever I'm around Hornsby.

I gave GC the Soy Latte test and the Long Black test and it just doesn't measure up to other coffee in the area. I like strong coffee with complexity and GC just doesn't have that. I think it's in the top three places in the area so far as quality wise for coffee. I had a bagel with cream cheese and sat inside the tiny little shop and it was delicious. I will say the milk crates for tables are a little problematic as I found myself stooping to get my coffee and spilt it a little but that's really not a problem for the quality of the shop.
