We got our food in a timely manner, and our waiter was honestly the best. He was attentive, made jokes with us, and kept the conversation going, which made the whole night even more enjoyable. I really appreciate experiences where the people around you, including other guests, are kind and open to sharing recommendations. Our waiter also gave great suggestions and was very hospitable to me and my friends. We had a party of seven, and he still accommodated us really well. The food came out quickly, and the appetizers were amazing. I definitely recommend the calamari rings. The only thing I would note is that the wait was a little long, but that was mainly because of where we wanted to sit, and it is a pretty popular spot. We waited about 30 minutes, but it worked out because we walked down to the beach and had a really nice late night walk. Overall, it was such a great experience and definitely worth it.

Out of the dishes I got -- hon maguro nigiri, ika with shiso nigiri, iwashi nigiri, nodoguro nigiri, zuke nigiri, himitsu roll, and himitsu sushi -- my favorite was surprisingly the ika with shiso nigiri. The ika was fresh and the shiso gave that sweet and delicate notes that did not disappoint. Although this was my favorite, all the other nigiris were also amazing as expected from a quality omakase place. Service was quick and friendly. Our server checked on us quite often. Chef mitsu also consistently made sure that we were enjoying the food and experience. The chef also gave his opinions on various fish and gave background to what fish he likes to select and suggest. Honestly, there was nothing better than hearing from a chef who loves his art and craft.

We had a bento box, Himitsu roll (which was fishy), the sushi lover set and the soft shell crab appetizer. The soft shell crab was the best thing there but I could not even finish half of my sushi due to how rubbery and inedible the rest of sushi was. The rice also fell apart immediately prior to picking it up with my chopsticks. I tried to just eat the sashimi without the rice to not waste food but we couldn't. The Bento box included salad that wasn't cleaned properly and included sausages and a very small amount of fish as the main course. There were also bones in a lot of the fish & eel nigiri (which I haven't experienced before) When asked how things tasted I mentioned that the sushi was rubbery and I couldn't finish the rest. She offered me to take it home which I politely declined. We were then charged a 20% service fee bundled in as a tip and this was not disclosed when we initially sat down. This was not only one of the most expensive lunches but my mom & I ended up getting sick later on that night and should have left halfway through the meal. Needless to say we will not be returning. We had hoped they would offer some sort of price break or an exchange for something else but it was such a horrible experience we just wanted to leave. Such a slimey way to do business and not disclosing a mandatory service fee.

The sushi is also amazing and I love that nigiri comes with one piece instead of two pieces: You can try different fish without committing to two pieces, and you also end up paying less for one piece. As a consequence of being served just one piece, the chefs make sure that each piece matters, and you can taste and observe the extra TLC: Each beautiful piece is a gastronomic indulgence! As expected, the service is great. The restaurant is small but each time I've been here, it was never packed. We were the last table seated and the last to close out the restaurant. We ordered the following: - 2 hot green tea - tako wasa (raw octopus) - seaweed salad - nigiri set - sashimi set - hamachi special - ahi fiesta roll We were very satisfied with the freshness of the fish. What really stood out from the sashimi and nigiri sets were the extra sweet scallops. I could eat a whole plate of it, and that alone is worth a repeat visit! I'm normally not a huge hamachi fan, but the light and citrusy sauce that came with the hamachi special was indeed special. Likewise, the ahi fiesta roll was quite amazing. I try to avoid rolls because of the rice, but have to admit this was worth the extra carb calories. The one thing I did not care for was the tako wasa. I did not realize this was diced raw octopus, otherwise I would not have ordered it. I had this once before a few years back and can say adamantly that I do not like raw and slimy octopus. The marinade was flavorful, but this just wasn't for me. The restaurant was a bit small and was tastefully decorated. I liked that they had a basket for my purse so I didn't have to fuss with it. Our server was very friendly and as attentive as he could be. He was the only server and did his best to make sure our tea cups were refilled with hot water. The restaurant was rather busy when we arrived, and we acknowledged that he did his best. There was some wait time, but we didn't mind because we really enjoyed our experience here. This restaurant is flagged for a repeat visit, for sure!

When I pointed out the issue, the waitress did not acknowledge her mistake and she said that we are ordering additional beer and karake. I also ordered a nine pieces of sushi but she served nine pieces of sashimi. We were party of five and everyone ordered two or three dishes on the menu so we thought that someone else ordered the sashimi. Actually no one ordered the sashimi and she forgot to bring sushi that I ordered. There were no apologies for the horrible services rather blaming us. For the food, it was edible but the quality was not good. Salmon belly sushi was not from belly. It had no fats. Baja roll had way too much lemon so I couldn't taste salmon or tuna. Chicken katsu sauce was way too salty.
