BLUF: Lovely kitchen and home store featuring higher end items and gifts…read more LeRoux Kitchen is a stunning, inspiring store packed with high-end kitchen gear, fun gadgets, gourmet foods, and more. Like a better version of Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table, it offers small-business charm and greater variety. From cookbooks and aprons to chocolate, glassware, and cutting boards, they have everything for the kitchen and tabletop, beautifully displayed with a well-stocked inventory. The Martha's Vineyard store is one of several locations in the New England area.

This store is VITAL to the kitchens of Martha's Vineyard! It's been here for many, many years, and…read morefor a reason: They carry the best, most complete and affordable selection of kitchenwares on the island! You can both get a $5 mug here and an expensive Le Creuset French Oven here, with everything in between. The selection includes a lot of white dishware, Le Creuset cooking items, lobster-themed dishes and serverware, a huge selection of coffee mugs with very reasonable price tags on them, cooking utensils, kitchen appliances, napkins, tablecloths, you name it! The one (major) drawback to this store is that they are NOT WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE and have a large front step, as well as a tall flight of stairs inside. It would be nice if they put a doorbell by their entrance so that someone in a wheelchair requiring assistance could let the people at the register know to come to the front door. Even nicer would be if they got an inexpensive, foldable metal ramp off of Amazon to put out in order to accommodate their wheelchair-using would-be customers. However, they WILL help someone out at the front door if they notice you there. I give them a little more leeway than I would for a business off-island, because on Martha's Vineyard, there just aren't a lot of options for well-stocked, affordable kitchenware stores. There's not much else to say, other than the usual Martha's Vineyard caveat: call ahead to double-check their hours, especially in the off-season. This is an excellent store, and I recommend it to anyone looking for kitchenware or a little island kitsch on the Vineyard!

Went to VHC to look at their showroom for kitchens. Fast forward to having Nina come in, measure…read moreand price everything out we had decided to go with VHC for our kitchen project. In the beginning everything was great, Nina had came to the house multiple times to check the measurement, they answered all questions promptly and even up to the time the cabinets came in I was pleased with the product we had received and for the price. Everything started to go downhill when I arrived to the house and the cabinets were installed and the upper cabinets were measured 25" from the countertop to the bottom of the uppers (Standard is around 17"-19"). This was the equivalent of the first shelf being placed in the same space as the second shelf, the upper cabinets were too short, even with the trim they were extremely high. When I had called VHC, they tried to blame the installer and said they were not liable for the install. Even though they had recommended the contractor (that's a whole other story) and stated he does a high number of their jobs (Don't hire Gino!). In short, I had a number of upper cabinets that were not useable due to their size, I had a microwave that I could barely see in as it was extremely high as well. I fought to get a resolution but VHC never bothered calling back and the manager was always "out" or "unavailable". I ended up taking the cabinets down and donating them to habitat as there was no easy fix other than to replace the uppers and I was not willing to give VHC another dime. I took the more expensive approach, contacted another kitchen company where I can safely say that the cabinets were ordered properly and even one cabinet had came in incorrectly and they had stood by their work.

Even when I tried to place special orders in the new tile room, they are either lacking the knowledge of the products or just plain bossy to the experienced desiogners, or condescending the local tradesmen. So, they go downhill fast. They should drop that weird attitudes.
