Not only do I have friends who have used this training service, my family and I have used it on a dog we adopted. This dog was a stray, so we knew nothing about his background, his fears, his anxieties. This is a dog who was worth saving, so I was willing to do almost anything to make that happen. The trainers at Off Leash took a dog who bit me badly enough that I required a trip to the emergency room and two days off work and turned him into a well-behaved, confident, happy canine. In response to the review where the individual states that she is unhappy with the service, I say that it is illogical and unrealistic to review a service that you never received. If you had been willing to talk with the trainers and look at how things work and listen to what they had to say, maybe you would have the right to leave a review such as you did. You never gave them a chance. As far as the issue with "shock collars", there could be nothing further from the truth. These colors do not shock, they vibrate. We took on a very large labradoodle that was a handful! We live on a very busy road with runners and cyclers and Otis would bolt after them, scaring not only me but also the runners/cyclers. You could not get a leash near him and even with a harness he was too strong to hold back. He would not listen and could be very intimidating. He has severe separation anxiety and we even tried medication to help him with no luck. We took him to a local dog training facility but that did not work out as Otis did not work well with others. OLK9 two week train and board was a big investment for us but it was our last hope of being able to keep our dog. It was a life changer for us! Otis still has his quirky personality but he listens. Oh my, what a night and day difference!! Our cockapoo puppy, Bandit, was out of control! Jumping, mouthing on our hands, feet, clothing, tearing up blankets, pulling on a leash, eating through the leash, jumping up to eat off the table, and everything in between! Two weeks of training with Jessie, and our pup is an absolute different dog! He's still a happy, bouncy puppy, but he is now eager to please, is excited to train, and is more controlled and loving with the whole family! The best experience you will ever have! My 1.5 year old golden retriever was a good dog but needed the basics for him to be excellent. I researched, asked questions and decided to take the plunge and sign up for the 2 week boarding program. Best thing I have ever done for my dog and my family. He has more confidence, is truly happier, and as a retriever he wants to please and his pride really shows when he is listening and engaged. Sam our trainer is amazing. She is a true dog lover and sends daily updates about your dog during the training! Great way to see the progress. We are more than pleased with our dog's training. We purchased the 4 one hour session package for our 7 month old great dane. Our trainer, Kim, has been amazing with both our dog and our family. She explains her methods as well as tips and tricks to us while she teaches our dog new commands. Our dog is very sweet when it is just family, but gets crazy excited when she sees/meets a new person. At 100 pounds and growing I could no longer control her. Now she is learning to stay in place and properly walk on a leash. She even lays down beside the table rather than bother us constantly while we eat. We brought our 1 year old shepherd mix to k9 Off-Leash and the improvments he made with Blair for the 2 week board and train was amazing! He is very anxious around people and also very intimidating because of his protective barking. OLK9 training literally saved my social life! My wild child was impossible to control at 100# of pure muscle. He was really a great sweet dog when it was just the family. Anytime we had people come over though he was a bull in a China shop. It would easily take him over 20 min to calm down often times knocking the kids over. We chose to do the 2 week board and train with our hectic schedule of kids sports and activities. It's as though they have us a new dog! I placed 2 of my dogs through the program , I'm so amazed by the transformation from drop off to pick up . Kim e-mailed everyday with pictures and progress of both dogs and replied to to any and all questions quickly . It was fun to see their progress on a daily basis and our dogs are so much happier . I signed up my 6 month old Boxer for obedience classes with K9 off leash and was very pleased with the outcome. It definitely took some work in between sessions, but I believe our pup has it down and knows her commands. Jessie was a great teacher and would answer any question I had outside of the hour long class through email. I would recommend these classes to anyone that can't give up there pup for the two week board. We have even had a mishap with our remote collar, and the company got back with us just as quick as they could. We did the basic obedience package for my 9 month old puppy Murphy. He was constantly barking at people and jumping on them. His bark would sound menacing even though he did not mean it to be that way, he just wanted to play. I couldn't take him to my kids baseball games or out in public. After one lesson, we noticed a huge difference! After the second lesson, I was able to take him to a baseball game successfully! Honestly, he is a different puppy from the one that started lessons. The 2 week board and train through Off-Leash K9 Training was very successful with my very stubborn beagle mix. Before the training, my dog would pull on the leash terribly, become vocal towards other dogs/animals while on walks, and would jump all over everyone when we would have visitors over to the house. Now that she has had this training, she actually listens when commands are given making her very well behaved and well rounded. Chewy(pit bull) and I did the 8 Lessons (4 basic & 4 advanced), because I didn't think I could be without him for the board and train. We worked with the trainer for an hour each lesson (We did a lesson each week). I think I got more out of the lessons because I was there, watching the trainer as she worked with Chewy, then she taught me how to handle him. The lessons were building blocks, each lesson worked into the next lesson. We had fun and I'm confident that I can take Chewy out, even off leash some :). Highly recommend OLK9 training. Jessie in Christiansburg was fantastic with our Irish-Doodle, Finn. It's been over a year since Finn's board-and-train, and I can report that what he learned has stuck with him. My dog is doing things I never thought possible! The question is - can her humans conform to the training and discipline she has mastered. I believe we can. Our experience with Off Leash was great. We did the board and train with our dog. We dropped off a hyper puppy who had embarrassed us at the vet's office with her behavior, who was more powerful than she realized, and who picked on her dog siblings. After two weeks we picked up our dog who was now well-mannered, calmer, patient, and definitely no longer an embarrassment for her behavior in public places. We now have a way to guide him into adult hood. We see our Ted working and thinking about his choices. He used to make me so nervous because I never knew what he would do next. Stephanie was wonderful! We had a 4 year old dachshund who was dog aggressive and loved to pull us down the street for walks; he also would run away if given the chance only to have us chase him down. After 4 lessons, he stays at the door, doesn't react to other animals and my family and friends feel like we have a new dog!
