I received my $10 birthday coupon so why not use it on the sneakers! The cost of those New Balance sneakers are $74.99. Not bad considering they're $80 on New Balance website. The Service: The customer service is meh and here's what I mean. When I'm in the store, I'm never greeted, never approached, just gazed upon. No one seems to be of help in-store. Now, when I called to inquire about the punching bag, the guy in team sports was super helpful and very friendly. I say this to say, I know the customer service is there, I just wish more of the associates would show it. I worked at an Academy well over 10 years ago, and the service we gave compared to what I see today, is night and day. When I came in to pick up my punching bag and stand, I was told to wait to the side after I paid. I was then told to pull my cat around to the back. I waited for about 10 minutes and no one came. I called and they apologized and told me to come back to the front. They were there waiting for me. So it was definitely a bit of a run around. The only thing that's giving them a three star review is the guy who helped me over the phone was really nice. I wish I knew his name.

Instead, he appeared more interested in looking at his computer than helping a customer. I don't expect special treatment because of who I am, but I do expect to be treated with basic respect and acknowledged when I'm spending my money in your store.
