Ki is seriously the best! Last year I started having pain in my left hip and lower back (I suspect from sitting too much at my desk job). A massage therapist told me I had a tight piriformis muscle but I didn't know exactly how to address it, except with short-term pain relief. Even though I have insurance, I came to Opus Physio because I wanted someone really great, who would work with me one-on-one in every single session. In my initial assessment, Ki quickly zeroed in on the fact that I had a muscle imbalance where my left hip muscles were weaker, causing the piriformis muscle to work too hard and start acting up. Over the next few months, he helped me bring my strength back up on my left side so that it is comparable to the right, and I haven't had any pain since. Ki is super knowledgeable, kind and patient. I felt like I could ask him any question and his explanations were always very thorough. He helped trouble-shoot any other issues that came up as I went through the exercises. When my treatment ended, I felt like I was equipped to maintain the improvements I had made and go on to have a normal workout routine. My foot and ankle were super inflexible and I had a lot of pain from plantar fascitits that was worsened by my accident. I have been working with Ki for 3 months to rehabilitate a chronic neck injury that had plagued me for over 2 years. From the initial diagnosis, Ki quickly identified muscle imbalances and mobility issues contributing to the chronic pain. We meet in 1-hour sessions consisting of half assessment with manual therapy, then half closely supervised exercises. Having worked with more conventional physical therapists in the past who did not personalize their approach and often left me to do exercises with unfamiliar aides, I appreciate Ki's format to work together privately for the whole appointment time. Another one of Ki's major strengths is that he is super knowledgeable about a variety of exercises to tackle both muscle strengthening and mobility therapy from many angles. I was very happy that he checked in every session to see if the exercises still felt engaging and helpful, readily modifying them if I felt one was not helping my progress. Ki helped me tremendously with my neck and back pain. I work on my computer all the time and have been in pain for a long time. For years I have tried many different chiropractors and physical therapists but I can confidently say that Ki was the best of them all. He is a very knowledgeable, experienced and caring therapist who would patiently explain to me my issues and how the work he was going to do on my body would help with that issue. He would always closely monitor my movements and exercises and make adjustments based on my progress. I would always feel so much better after my visits with him. Unfortunately, I had to move out of town but every time I go back, I make sure to pay him a visit and have him work on me and review my exercises.
