I called Marble on July 20th and 21st asking for a catering event and that I'd need till July 30th to get the total number of people. Nate placed us on the schedule and said that he would not schedule any events during that time and said there would be no problem to come back and give them the exact number of folks to cater the event. I called yesterday (August 2nd) to give the menu items we were looking for and number of people and was told by Lisa that they'd provide a quote the evening or next morning. I called this morning and was told there is no room for their projection line for my date, with the catering event a little over a week out (Aug 13th). I said, "I am a little confused and annoyed"....as soon as I said the word annoyed, I was yelled at to watch my tone and was cursed out by Nate. My tone did not change the entire conversation, so unsure why they were so defensive. They hung up on me and I called back asking for an explanation as to why this escalated. Lisa then explains that "well you didn't take my word that we couldn't cater the event" and then proceeded to yell at me louder after I said "because I originally talked to Nate." Nate decided he thought it was a good idea to threaten me that he'd beat my *** if I call back. I would highly suggest looking for another company rather than work with these unprofessional individuals. My google review was deleted, but below is the owners response. We understand that Mr. DeJesus likely isn't used to hearing the word "no" - and doesn't seem to understand what the definition of "tentative" means - but when you speak disrepectfully to the owner of a business, you will get what you give. Mr. DeJesus didn't like when I said we could not accommodate his event, which is less than two weeks away. Of course we took the business from clients who booked us confidently for that weekend first! We do not "hold dates" unless a quote has been written, and when I told him we were fully booked, he felt he would get a different response from my partner, maybe because I'm female-he was utterly demanding in my three conversations with him. Chef Nate doesn't like it when folks act misogynistic towards his woman, let it be known. During my initial conversation with Mr. DeJesus, he was trying to demand delivery to Pawlet, saying it "wasn't that far from Rutland", for example. Anyone around here knows that's entirely untrue. We have no obligation to Mr. DeJesus. We hope one of our local competitors can help him. McDonald's is right down the street, as one of my favorite co-workers used to say. We will not feed people who can't respect our boundaries. We go out of our way for the people who are kind to us, but we will not be bullied into doing a job. Mr. DeJesus felt the need to CALL BACK after we said we could not accommodate him - yes, that set us off! We will not tolerate such behavior. Good luck to you, Mr DeJesus, and do not call us again. - Chef Lisa PS - 26 months in business without a negative review speaks far more to our professionalism than one rant does. Have a great day!

What makes this store better then most of the others is the variety and craftsmanship that can be seen throughout. It also doesn't hurt that you are greeted by the happiest and sweetest dog there upon entering the store. The store itself was beautifully maintained and organized. It had a flow to it that just drew you to ever corner. From the front display of handcrafted metal worked lights to the far back of the store's amazingly knitted coats and hats there is something for everyone to see and purchase for a country home. There is a wide variety of kitchen items such as cutting boards and cheese knives that match with the wood fire glazed pottery. Across from the pottery and kitchen items was a knitting selection of mushrooms and other out there figurines such as fish and sock monkeys. But, the crown jewel of the store in my opinion has to be the jewelry. These items which ranged from necklaces to ear piercings are all handcrafted and beautifully worked. Every case had the name of the crafter on it and the store owner could provide you with more info upon request. Overall this is 1 of 2 stores that should be on everyone's must view list when visiting the town of Woodstock, VT.
