Odetah Camping Resort A family campground with a wide variety of activities and services perfect for the weekend or seasonal camper. Limited sites with full hook ups sites Including water, 50 Amp service and sewer. Other sites have electric and grey water hook ups. All sites have access to free Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth for use on your smart tv and lap top. The pool is newer and very large with an adjacent splash pad. This is the best pool I have found in a Connecticut campground. The atmosphere is family friendly with the aforementioned pool, a social center with indoor and covered outdoor area with ping pong tables, adjacent ice cream stand and miniature golf. Bathrooms are clean with free hot showers. The camp store offers a new coffee shop with reasonably priced coffee and baked goods, perfect for a morning snack. Odetah Camping Resort is conveniently located minutes from Norwich, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos and all of the fun, restaurants and entertainment the local area has to offer. Close to Rhode Island and Stonington there is no end to the possibilities.

Maybe if we were seasonal campers here I would be happier about this place. I felt like as I entered and was given all the rules and regulations and instructed as to how I should act that I was just kind of intimidated. I felt like I was checking into the hotel California. The young people at the gate were very serious and not welcoming. We were given wristbands that we were told had to be worn at all times or we could not access the services. And then when I read about the wristband I found out that it was connected to our credit card. Very creepy. I did not see where the activities were or the fun things were. I just got instruction after instruction and rule after rule. We were not allowed visitors which was unfortunate. I'm assuming it's because of Covid but really being outside camping and using the amenities would've been appropriate. We went to the restaurant to check it out and it was hotdogs and hamburgers and things that we weren't interested in. Our camp site was parked in the middle of a parking lot. We took a ride around after we settle down and saw that they were many sites that were treed and not on top of other campers and were empty for the weekend. We did not have a tree on our site and had barely any grass. There were broken red white and blue balloons all over the site so apparently they do not clean them after someone leaves. We had been sent to a site by the Gestapo at the gate and then followed the golf cart up there where were given more instructions. Not a smile on a face that I ever saw. We did not take part in anything that was going on there. I did not feel comfortable nor welcome. For some reason Mike thought it was nice but I think it was just because he spent a lot of money on it. And that's another thing, it's very expensive and I won't be back

Hoping to get in on a corn hole tournament next time From calling the office to check availability to check out the service was top notch and warm very friendly! So if you are looking for a place to camp that checks off all the boxes Acorn Acres is the place to go dog friendly kid friendly( did I mention an inflatable bouncy water slide for the littles!) Respectful Fun Clean Woodsy Affordable Perfectly located in regards to highway access and southern Ct attractions So in conclusion I say pack up the family and go spend a weekend at Acorn Acres!

We have been here for 6 years and love it !!! There is a large recreational hall with arcade games…read morefor the kids / pool tables, another room with big screen TV to watch a football/basketball game or pop in a movie, a large pool, activities that are planned, tennis courts, putt putt golf and is convenient to stores and the casinos, however, located in a very nice secluded/residential area of Bozrah. The staff is extemely helpful and really work hard to put together fun events for all the campers as well as maintain and upkeep the campground. They are always willing to take the time to answer questions in case you are new to camping as well as some of your neighbors offering a hand. Acorn Acres is nestled between lots of trees which make for nice walks on the trails or around the campground. It is quiet and peaceful here and my son loves spotting deer or an occasional turkey on his walks. To us, this is a perfect place I want to create memories with my family

Camp Passive Aggressive Karens INDEED. I would love to say I enjoyed this campground as a tent…read morerental site for the week, but man do the residents of the camp truly ruin the experience of the crystal clear lake. The week was quiet and nice until the seasonal/regulars came in Thursday night. Next thing you know, the gossip train starts and all the residents watch your every move and call the front office on you if you breath in a way that offends them. I'd understand if I was rowdy and partying, but my sister and I literally were crocheting! Making sweaters we would have an uncle and cousin visit during the day (after they paid their fee to get in) and they made my guests so uncomfortable with the passive aggressive comments The staff are condescending, an old potato of a woman with blonde hair who takes your money coming in gave my PAYING GUEST a hard time coming in and then had the audacity to charge her twice the daily rate! Normal fee is $8, she charged my friend $15. I heard about 14 passive aggressive comments about my happy doofy husky/pitt bull mix (WHO WE PAID TO HAVE HERE) getting judged and glared at just for existing. I would love to say this a cute community who look out for one another, but this group of people are like those vile religious folk who claim to be loving and kind while they shun and shame anyone who may be different or new. I do not recommend this campground AT ALL. Find a nicer place. The annoyance of residents tattling over the dumbest things truly ruins any relaxation you try to have.

A seasonal campers paradise…read more.. Pros: -very quiet and we'll maintained. - office staff very friendly. Cons: -be prepared to walk, very hilly -Wi-fi only available at office/rec area. -playground has 4 swings and a volleyball net. -very limited area to fish. -seasonal campers very willing to ensure weekend camper is following "their" rules, not so much following the rules themselves (as evident by the unleased dogs that keep comming to my site).

Well this was absolutely the time of year to go to Sun Fox. The kids are going back to school and…read morewe had the place almost to ourselves. It was like a private resort. We swam in the pool which was gorgeous and it was just us most of the time. At one point there was a gentleman and his young son. The pool has a ramp so that it is handicap accessible which really impressed me. There is also beautiful hot tub which has a wheelchair lift. Both very impressive and I have not seen this at other campgrounds. We arrived on Sunday evening and left on Wednesday. When we got there there was a tree in the middle of our designated site that did not allow us to open our slides so we had to get a new site assignment. They easily did that and we were backed up to a brook. It was lovely and the view of the pond was very nice. Unfortunately we also had a view of the back of the main house/office and the area where they worked on equipment. I thought that could've been fenced off. The site itself was raw with dirt and roots so it was rather hazardous and we did not put down our outside rug. I was afraid that we might trip. Also there was trash around the fire ring from the previous tenants and trash around the trees near the brook. Generally I think that was my biggest complaint with this place. The people were very nice and the grounds were nice. The playground was amazing and the variety of playground equipment they had was incredible. The pool and the hot tub or beautiful and I just wish that the sites were cleaned up more and maybe throw down some crushed rock. Definitely on my list of places to return to.

While this is a very small campground, the activities are anything but. There is a lot going on and…read moreDave the owner is a big part of all activities. A lot of the campground has been updated although the restrooms could use some work. The pool and hot tub were clean and a nice respite from the hot weather. One caution is that the sites are very tight. We were fortunate in that the site across from us was pretty open when we backed in. With all of that said they are planning on adding additional sites which will hopefully be a bit more spacious. All in all a very nice campground.
