A person shouldn't be afraid to seek help because they have been looked down on or treated improperly. It's very hit or miss at ORMC. One thing for sure is that they lack the ability to keep up with high traffic of patients. The staff is not trained or prepared for a high stress environment.

When you go in for some other reason and ask for help when you feel like cr ap all the time (not being physically sick) but body tired and run down, they won't do anything to help you figure out the problem. I found out that if most of your blood work is normal, they say it's normal no matter what. You, as a patient, have to ask for recommendations to see specialists so you can find out what's wrong. Why are we having to even go to a PCP doctor/pa if they can't/won't help us? I'm done with sorry doctors and PA's that don't care. And DA is just as bad at the office On University.

Hurting for over a year with back lower back pain I had a MRI ordered by my primary care Dr results…read morecame back was told I needed to see a neurologist I checked up on Dr John Kyle Dorman was what I read was great so I had my primary care Dr made an appointment with Dr Dorman for me - as Dr Dorman examined me and looked at my MRI he said I needed surgery possible lumbar lower fusion on the L4-L5 and disc replacement - so surgery was scheduled 8-15-23 and 7 weeks later I'm a lot better thank God still hurting some from the muscles healing in my lower back but A LOT BETTER Dr Dorman is a man of few words but as he told me he's done over a thousand of these surgeries - the reviews I read and from my personal experience I'm leaving another 5 STAR RATING for this great surgeon - his office staff was amazing from the minute I walked into his office the women were very friendly and helpful I'm so proud of being a patient of this remarkable Dr - THANK EACH OF YOU SO VERY MUCH - my wife and I both thank you -

It already took 45 minutes just for the technician to see me, and I thought the optometrist would surely see me soon after so I continued waiting. I should have left. I finally left 2 1/2 hours later. They don't respect your time. When the doctor finally met me, he insulted my glasses. He also didn't ask my goals for the appointment. Multiple times I had to correct him that I was not interested in glasses, I wanted contacts. I also received an an incorrect prescription. The prescription gave me a headache, which I told them about. They told me to try it out and it might have just been because I waited long. I still have a headache after multiple attempts of trying the new prescription. They also made numerous clerical mistakes and called me multiple times when I said I would be busy. They called me multiple times to confirm. I returned their call a few hours later, but they continued to call because they made a mistake copying my insurance down which I confirmed with them a week prior. I noticed several other mistakes they copied wrong. I'm not sure if they are even trying. I would go somewhere else.

When I first tried to wear contacts I couldn't put them in and he told me I had the worst case of "pokophobia" he'd ever seen. OTOH, when I came to him because I woke up with terribly blurred vision he sent me to an Eye Clinic for a more in-depth examination, and when they could not find the cause he sent me to a retinolologist who found that I had suffered a stroke in my eye. He was able to treat me and although it took some time, today I have almost the same level of vision I had before the stroke. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Schitoskey. When you're in the business of dealing with people, it's nice to seem like you like them and enjoy what you do. Smiling and eye contact helps. I wasn't treated horrible or anything like that. This is just a platform for honest opinions of places. The staff were not inviting and next time we will not make this place our eye care choice. Besides that.. I was in and out fairly fast.

As an adult who married a Cystic Fibrosis patient and living in Odessa, ten hours away from the CF a clinic and his doctors.. MCH was nowhere near what we needed for my husband during a difficult health moment and I will say, this is a way smaller hospital than what my husband is used to and they don't really know about CF and what's needed. Transfer orders took forever, there was so much confusion on the Odessa side when the Houston side had everything figured out and were waiting for us. When we would talk to the nurses and doctors, they wouldn't listen. Respiratory took over a day to visit, good thing we brought our own meds, which they then took downstairs to check into their system to bring it back up so he could do his treatments and we never received our medicine. They never came back with it. OUR meds that we brought. We know that MCH is not where we will go next time. For smaller less concerning needs, it's fine. For us, we will just drive to Houston next time.
