Definitely one of the best bars downtown! As it was my first time here, I've heard so much about it and how interesting the place actually was. I went on a weekday and there was no cover fee! Only on special occasions and weekends I think there's a cover fee. But it was worth any cover fee in my opinion. Felt like I walked through portals into different worlds! The first room - looks like any corner bar in Vegas but has a modern interior, the bar was small but intimate. there were projections on the walls and the vibe felt almost like a cafe/bistro that stayed open after it closed if that makes sense. At first we thought that was the whole bar until the worker said there's more in the back. Went through a hallway and got fully immersed. The second room - A massive two story room with a stage and second floor for additional viewing and seating. Another bar as if one bar wasn't enough. The room was dimmed out and the lighting focused on the stage where I saw a DJ and a vocalist perform of what sounded like European house music and it sounded amazing. Felt like I was in an underground club in Europe. It doesn't end there next to the performers was an artist painting on canvas on the spot. Then we noticed a hidden hallway on the right side of the stage and it doesn't end there. The third room - Another room that is saturated with colors and another bar + DJ. Additionally, the music was more I guess electronic/rave music and it was pretty cool too. I am someone who doesn't drink but loves to explore unique places and Oddfellows redefined what a bar could really be. I enjoyed this place by just walking in. Now this isn't the most themed bar like the golden tiki BUT the way it was setup with the three rooms were amazing. I live in SF so I've been dying to go to one of Oddfellows themed nights for a couple years but never have had the time on my Vegas trips until last week when we stopped in for indie night after life is beautiful festival! The music was great, decent priced drinks, and I love all the screens for music video viewing but as soon as I got in I was yelled at by a venue staff member for walking into a hallway before him? There is a narrow hallway to get from the initial bar at the front into the back rooms and I walked into it not seeing him in darkness behind the corner holding a trash can on the other end and he swore at me and told me I was raised without manners lol. I have a similar position at a bar/venue in SF and would never dream of talking to patrons this way even when frustrated! Oddfellows is the ultimate late night hangout spot downtown. Located on the corner of 6th street and Ogden, it's easy to walk past this unassuming bar. A telltale sign of the entrance is the large group of youngsters loitering out front, but you'd only see that if you swing by after 11PM. Oddfellows really doesn't take off until after 11PM, so if you swing by at 8PM you haven't really seen Oddfellows in all its glory. There's a bar by the entrance and tables decorated by Ouija boards further back. A bookshelf opens up into the dance floor, but that doesn't open until later (11ish). The music here is great - every time I come here the DJ is usually playing alternative music. I'm so over bars that blast pop, edm, and hip-hop. Oddfellows is a welcome change of pace. Best place in downtown vegas, especially to go dance and chat. Friendly and caring staff, cheap drinks, and good music with different themes throughout the week. Very judgement free + lgbtq friendly! Out of all the dance clubs around fremont me and my friends feel safest here but it does get pretty packed so keep a hand over your drinks etc. I feel the staff takes weirdos/creeps very seriously as well. I told security a guy felt me up under my skirt and they spent 10 minutes looking for him in the packed venue to escort him out. Other bars i've been to often take a description but don't actually do anything so it's nice to see action! Parking can be tricky and street parking is risky with drunk drivers and whatnot. I suggest the el cortez public garage, it's about a 2/3 minute walk. Bring cash for parking and the cover if you go on a weekend. It also gets pretty warm in there so if you can bare not wearing a jacket i recommend that! read more

I've been going to oddfellows for 5 years, and I've never been disappointed. Their music selection is top notch. Renovations have made the space more open. Be cautious though, after 11pm it can get pretty crowded, so do not leave your drink unattended. There's been instants where people have been drugged, very recently. You can't bring a sealed new plastic water bottle into the bar itself which I find to be a bit weird since it's obviously sealed and therefore water not anything else, but whatever. They do at least give you complimentary water inside which keeps my review at 3 stars, because that's the bare minimum. The stage area is a bit strangely laid out with a deep, high-up alcove-- I suppose it fits with the name of the place-- but the acoustics are good. Bathrooms are fine. They have a ping-pong table. But the layout is very long and narrow and makes me feel like I'm going through a gauntlet, which is unpleasant. I probably won't be back here. read more

This bar is about a block from Fremont Street but still easily accessible by walking. Depending on the day you go there might cover charge for entry. Ladies are usually free. I have only paid a cover once and it was on a holiday. It was $5 and cash only! From my experience they have been the lowest cover charge I have come across in downtown. This place has two bars inside. One is easily noticeable since it is right at the entrance. This bar is mainly the chill area where you can drink,sit and casually have a conversation. Music videos play from the mounted TV's. The new wave music automatically catches your ear. The mash up of 80's & 90's grunge give you the immediate urge to dance. From here you go down the hall and pass the booths with the Ouija boards. You start to question what this place really is but are very intrigued to continue your quest to see what else this place has to offer. The bathrooms are located in this hall and only have 2 private bathrooms. Once you turn the corner you see a giant projection of music videos playing. The DJ is located above on the second floor. The dancing area but it's pretty big but it also gets crowded really fast. Luckily the security is great at making sure the place doesn't get over packed. They offer complimentary water and Wi-Fi! The drinks here are decently priced! Thank goodness! The type of music they play here varies each night. Make sure to follow their Facebook group which lets you know what type of events they host on certain nights. The events I have seen here range from LGBQT,K Pop,Goth, and 80's! Would give this place 0 stars if possible. Worst experience ever. We paid the cover to get in and as we got to the back room, my boyfriend and I were called faggots for holding hands. One of our friends told them that wasn't acceptable. They rushed and started pushing her. Security proceeds to come intervene and kick us out... not to mention they knocked 3 drinks out of our hands that we had just purchased. They even said we don't know what happened but you need to get out now. Without even asking.. they catered to the other couple who were in the wrong my. Totally understand their views now!! I came here to check out the Soft Leather event. I love the occult themed decor. When you first walk in, there's a bar. The tables in the bar area have ouija boards on them, and there's a portrait of Satan on the wall. Then there's a little hallway that leads you to a bookshelf door entrance, which opens up to a dance floor. It's got an underground hipster feel to it. There are a couple of screens and a small stage area. There are also a couple of couch areas and a bar. There is an upstairs area with a makeshift dungeon room. It's more like a big couch with random BDSM themed items in the corner (whips, books, rope, etc.) I'm not sure if this was for this particular event, or if it's a regular thing. But you can look down at the dance floor from upstairs. If you want to get away from the mainstream Vegas craziness, this is worth checking out. The projector plays music videos & cool stuff all night long, you can dance in front of it. They have different themed nights too--Karate Karaoke Tuesday, 90s, 80s, somehow we keep going to Gay nights on Thursdays! They definitely pull out the Lady Gaga, Janet, & amazing Trans music at that time. Happy hour is the time to go--I believe before 10, their drink prices are OUTSTANDING at that time...like, $2 drinks. No need to pre-club! Think of NYC club kid scene but for all the rad lgbtq & allies of Vegas. This club is such a great spot for this city. When you walk in, there's a small bar up front with some lovely bartenders ready to help you with your needs. On the way to the back room, a couple of secluded booths with Ouija boards can keep a group of friends occupied. And the then there's that back room for dancing! A giant projector plays some great music videos from the past (and possibly present) depending on the theme of the night. The upstairs, while maybe not always available, gives some extra, quieter seating where you can overlook all the folk below. Theme nights are what brings back the regulars. Some of my favorites are Soft Leather and the new K-Pop night. The people that come out to dance keep it super entertaining- these are some talented people. Popped in on Tuesday night for a little incognito karaoke! (no check in equals "incognito" lol) If you don't know where you're going, you'll miss this place. I didn't see it until we'd passed it twice. parking was the worst part of the night. I don't come downtown frequently. I messaged the karaoke host and was told that there is free on street parking after 10, but we had trouble finding any, so we went down to the El Cortez "Free Parking" building ($5) which was a quick walk away. This place is interesting, to say the least. You walk it, and it looks like its just a SUPER tiny bar. But turn the corner, and walk down the hall, and you're in a bigger room with a little raised stage, a huge projector, seating and a bar. The karaoke host was upstairs in a boot that reminded me of a theater light/sound booth. Kinda swanky!!! We put our songs in and got to sing almost immediately. LOVE the sound here. Love love love. I sounded amazing. ;) Drinks are STRONG here too, which is always a good thing! The other clientele were a bit on the "pretentious hipster" side...my friend and I were about the only 2 in the bar not sporting skinny jeans or a slouch beanie hat...we got some weird looks, but I don't really care. i'm not here for you, I'm here to sing and drink. I liked it here, and definitely plan to be back. The reasons for only 3 stars: 1. It was really hard to find this place. 2. When we walked in, I could TASTE the incense they were burning. So i have only been here once before! This second time was also quite memorable. Personally had a bad night with friends and personal issues but im so glad the people inside made it worth it. First of OMI (Omni?!) at the front bar was working it making drinks with this new guy (sorry I didnt ask for your name) and he has some great customer service and did what he could while training. Me and my boyfriend waiting for our friends to come in and for the bar to fully open. We all had a good time, Scarlett at the end bar was super fast and very easy going to talk to! At one point I asked for water and water im assuming was free so great cuz i was totally feeling myself at this point. I also found Todd at that last bar getting me water to cover for Scarlett, and im glad i did because i had lost my phone later that night! Only god knows what happened but luckily Todd answered my calls from a different phone and returned my phone when i asked him to meet me in front outside the building. Security at the front door constantly remembered my face, or eyes since we wear a mask, I believe his name was William?! I appreciate all of you i had interacted this night you guys are doing great and hope to return soon! Ah, Oddfellows. I have probably been to this bar the most out of every downtown bar because it brings out everyone's dancer craze that would only ever be seen here or in a bathroom mirror with a hairbrush microphone in hand. They have fun themed nights such as 80's night, 90's night, and emo night. I personally like Friday's 80's nights or Saturdays when they play hipster indie electro-pop music like Chvches, ZHU, and Purity Ring, to name a few. Upstairs is a phone booth (the weird funky photo op spot) and a balcony looking down at the dance floor. I enjoy the vibes of the people that Oddfellows attracts. The majority of people there are young hipsters just looking to dance and have fun. Everyone seems to be comfortable in their skin here and aren't judgemental. I've seen older people who show up for 80s night and weren't shy to sing their heart out. It's really great and pumps up the crowd. The bartenders here seem to enjoy their job. They are always friendly and, if they aren't slammed, are pleasant to talk to. One of them recommended their dark peanut butter beer. I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter, but this beer is delicious! The music and DJ were both ok - when I asked for a freestyle 80s song, her response was if I had already asked for one, and she was currently playing one my friend had already requested (??? Even if I had, I thought DJs took requests!) i said no and showed her my song she told me her song didn't match her "vibe and she didn't enjoy it I said ok! Told her it was my moms wedding and we'd really appreciate if she could dance to a couple freestyle songs, ( she didn't play any) but other than that weird judgment on my music taste it was great LOL! read more

Great place for some dancing to retro music! The backroom doesn't open until 10:30, but if you get there a little early the front bar has happy hour. It seemed like a line starting forming around 11 (Friday night). In the back room the videos are projected on two walls. I think I was more mesmerized by the old 80's videos than anything else.
