The office/scheduling person I talked to wouldn't give me any sort of timeframe ("sometime between 9am and 5pm"). Seriously? We agreed on a price to pump the tank, and a $150/hour "digging fee" since it was winter. I agreed. The technician arrived around noon the next day (all other septic companies I've dealt with send two people). Technician refused to dig, pretty much ignored a survey that showed the approximate location of the tank (within 2-3 feet). He have a few half-hearted pokes into the ground, claimed my system was not "up to code" (it IS up to code). Tried to upsell me on getting some machinery to excavate. So he basically refused to do the work agree on, and wasted most of my day since I had to stay home, and left without pumping my tank. I called Mike's Septic in Norwalk and they showed up on time (gave me a "morning" time window, which was great), located the tank without issue (the hatch was only buried a few inches under ground level). They did NOT charge me a digging fee, cost $50 less that Stright/Wind River for the pumping, and did a quick snake of the line from my house to the tank - great service.

Not only was I given a great price to perform this task, but Paul was extremely helpful in explaining the process to me for getting an addition approved. He was so helpful that I decided to use him for the excavation for the addition, and therefore would only hire a contractor who would use them. I also hired them for additional site work outside the scope of the addition and was happy with all of the work performed ($20,000+ worth of work, including their portion of the addition). Once again, Paul was very helpful in guiding me through what I needed to know in regards to the approval process with the town. Don't ever hire this company for inspections or septic tank upgrades …read more I made a mistake of hiring them to inspect the septic on a house I just bought and their inspection was poor and didn't see that the main waste line had collapsed under the house. On top of that they told me my septic was bad and I needed replaced and said they could do the job. It turns out they installed the septic without a rock bed and the septic sank. It costs me another 8k to fix the septic that had sunk because of poor install. When asking him to stand up for his work he won't take the fault even though he knows he did a shitty job. Please don't hire them unless you want a forever head ache I fillings complain on better business bureau and I am going have my lawyer fight them in court.
