What a wonderful & peaceful time I had riding @ OCOEE HORSERIDE!! I started with the Trail Ride on "WRANGLER" & it was so much fun with Yada as my Guide! Then, that weekend, Yada & I rode the "Chattahoochee National Forest Horseback Ride!! I loved my horse "WRANGLER" & Yada was such a great guide! We had an amazing 22 mile ride up & down the Mountain Hills, & crossing the Rivers!! We stopped @ the Highest Point of the Mountain to have a little lunchbreak!! It was such a beautiful day!! I wasn't even sore after 6-1/2 hours riding on "WRANGLER". I cherish every moment of my time @ OCOEE HORSERIDE with sweet Yada as my Guide! And, our Horses thoroughly enjoyed crossing the rivers!! I even have videos of us!!! Living in Memphis, TN, I rarely ever have an opportunity to enjoy riding! It is worth the 7 hour drive for me to come ride & make such cherished & unforgettable memories! They take such great care of their horses! I also love the location of the barn, for you have the most beautiful view ever of the Mountains to the East & all the hills & valleys!! My daughter and grandchildren (15 and 8) are visiting us in Florida from Japan so we took a long weekend and went to TN so they could see the mountains. I booked the one hour trip because they had only ever done pony rides around a corral and I thought they would love this. They absolutely did. Knut was great and patient and had everything ready for us. He had all of the horses picked out for us based on our experience and comfort level (I have ridden a bunch but the others have not and my wife has only ridden once ever and she is very nervous around large animals) and they were great. I can't remember Knut's helper (she was also 15) but she was super knowledgeable and helpful as well. She was in the back right behind my wife and that made my wife so much more comfortable. If you have ever wanted to try a real horseback ride through the mountains and valleys, this is a great one to do it on. Thanks Knut!!! read more

I lived in Indiana and Colorado for the first 18 years of my life. Rode horses since I could walk moved to Tennessee life as I knew it changed. College, marriage, kids , work, grandchildren. I was missing something in me . On November 26th, I found it. My freedom, tranquility of horseback riding. I am definitely going back as much as I can. I could actually clear my mind. Me time. Horses were gentle, easy going, laid back. Explained instructions completely. Help getting on and off horse if need assistance. Plan on making it a twice a month outing for myself, just me to clear my head, with the clean air the scenic view and the great company. Worth every penny i spent. We had a group of family and friends that wanted to go rafting, unfortunately my daughter was not old enough, so I decided to take her horseback riding. There were a few places to choose from, but Im glad we went to Ocoee Horseride. The staff was very friendly from the time we walked in to the time we left. Made us feel at home. My daughter is 10, and the guide (Im sorry, I can not remember her name) made her feel very comfortable on the horse, and even stopped once on the ride to show her how to better hold the reigns. Beautiful ride this morning at Ocoee Horseride! The host was ready early, friendly and gracious. The trails are gorgeous and soothing, a nice mix of dips and climbs, forest and fields. The horses seemed calm, content, and well cared for. They have large enclosures with plenty of hay, they're obviously brushed frequently, their feet are neatly trimmed and shod, their tack is clean, they have food buckets and a sunshade in the mounting area. I can't wait go back for a national forest ride! Please support responsible animal businesses like this one which takes good care of their guests AND their animals. I rode 4 one hr. rides and one full day ride in the National Forest across 12/28-12/31/21. One hour rides were uniquely hilly with gorgeous and changing scenery than most any trail ride. The National Forest all day ride was extraordinary!! Knut and staff are very attentive along the routes and having shared the reason I needed this riding, Knut was accommodating in every way he could. They cared for riders and also the horses, providing personalized info for each horse I rode. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this for any rider ability - new or experienced. I will be back, hopefully in fall, as the tree colors would be extra special via any of the trails. read more

It was great!! Veoleta and Angela were great guides. The horse I got was perfectly matched for me. I would have enjoyed to run/canter more but maybe I can come back for a more advanced ride. There were several people in my group that were not as comfortable on horses as I am, so maybe that is why we didn't canter or run much. It would be great if there were different options for the level of intensity of a ride desired. I would definitely choose to go on a ride that included running/cantering as the majority. Regardless, it was still a fun experience and the guides were fun and nice. And I loved my horse. Also, such a beautiful place!!!!!! read more

We had an amazing ride this morning!!!! I booked for my granddaughter's sixyear old birthday party and we were a group of 10 with four children and three of them young children. No horse riding experience Knut and his staff were very kind, patient and accommodating. They were amazing with our children and the whole experience was absolutely amazing. The trails were Beautiful as we went through the forest and at the end of our ride they took time to make pictures of our group and the children. If you want a one-of-a-kind, memory making experience in a beautiful setting, take the time, do the drive, and enjoy this trail ride. My 6yo, 9yo and I took advantage of this on a recent trip to Chattanooga. It was by far one of our most favorite things we've ever done together. The property is gorgeous. The owner and horse guide, Knut, was patient, instructive, and hospitable. Our 6yo surprisingly rode her own horse guided by Knut's horse. The three of us were the only riders during this reservation slot. The private ride, mountainous terrain, and breath-taking views were spectacular. Can't wait to return. read more

Absolutely beautiful ride, the best views and our spot for lunch on Boulders overlooking Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia does NOT get better than that. Knut, our guide and owner. is beyond nice and truly enjoys taking people out. The horse I rode was a love, he made sure I was having a safe fun and great ride. I absolutely will be going back many times. Very secluded, peaceful stunning ride. There's nothing better than being so far into the forest, you can't hear anything but the birds and crickets and the awesome sound of the horses hooves. I truly enjoyed this horseback ride! The owner was extremely nice and so was his assistant. The only thing that threw me for a loop was while we were riding we came to a place in the path were there was a big slab of rock, uphill. I was scared I was going to fall off because it was steep! The horse made it up the slab of rock but not without me feeling like I was going to fall off. I had a death grip on the reins! Other than that scary part everything else was beautiful. I would ride again for sure but it would have been nice to be for warned about that part in the ride. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! The owners and caretakers were so kind and friendly--it made the whole experience even more special. We brought our family of four to ride with Knut over fall break. Signing the waivers and paying was quick and easy all on Ipads so we got on the horses in no time. There is an amazing view of Chilhowee Mountain and the Cherokee National Forest from the barn on top of the hill. Knut has done a great job cutting trails through the woods all through his property. We chose the 1 hour ride and really didn't expect to feel like we were off in the woods like we did. Our kids are 15 and 13 and had a great time. We will be back. read more

I highly recommend this stable for a trail ride. The people & horses are awesome! This was my daughters first trail ride & the owner led her horse the entire ride. He asked her a few times if she wanted to ride alone & she didn't & he was very patient with her. The area had massive rain the few days prior up to the early morning hours & the horses were very sure footed, patient & made no attempts at rearing, kicking, etc even when we went through a swarm of horse flies. We had a great time on our National Forest ride with Knut! I've grown up around the mountains and rivers of Georgia and Tennessee, but experiencing them from this perspective was amazing. If you're looking for a unique adventure, I highly recommend giving Ocoee Horserides a try. It doesn't take much in the way of experience - the horses are definitely used to being trail ridden together - so don't let that stop you. The entire experience was wonderful. The horses were obviously well taken care of, and the staff was outstanding. Neither of my grandchildren had ever been on a horse before. Knut was very patient with my small granddaughter, leading her at first but then allowing her to take the reins when she was ready. I have been on several horse trail rides, but this one is the best. The horses are incredibly gentle and also strong. If you want, they can run, but they can also walk in a pace as what you want them to do. The trail is hilly, interesting enough. The best part is the owner, very kind and knowledgeable. He gives the most clear lessons to teach you how to start your first ride for first timers. It is located in a deep place; it is worth the driving. read more
