Stopped by this brewery and am so glad I did. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and let me sample their beer to figure out which one I like. I got a pale ale which was incredibly delicious! Also I got their Eat a Peach burger which was incredibly savory and flavorful. The meat was cooked to perfection and was lean and great quality. Possibly one of the best burgers I've had. I also loved their fries with the potato skins! Overall, terrific experience and will come back when I'm back in the area!! read more

If I could give this pub no stars I would. I ate there late Tuesday night ordered a burger everything tasted fine, however, it wasn't till 3 am Wednesday morning that my stomach was upset and I was throwing up absolute everything I ate there and had stomach problems as well. I was in the bathroom for hours throwing up and sitting in the toilet for hours. I went to the immediate care to find out that I had gotten campylobacter. Someone didn't wash their hands before going back into the KITCHEN. I ran a fever and was sick for 2 days. I would not recommend eating here. My first and last time. read more

We were excited to try the beer and food here. Pictures and reviews looked great. We're from out of town and got a hotel here to check out the downtown breweries. But after we got there at 730pm it was closed with a sign saying it was closed for remodeling/construction. No hours changes or closures were listed on the site, on here, or on Google. I understand plans change especially with being short staffed and issues with covid illness, but it's it that hard to communicate your hours online? Next option was to go to the other one owned by the same people but they closed the kitchen early so we ended up having to find somewhere else late night to get food and drinks when most places had already closed read more

These are the best cheese curds I have ever had ( and I am from the Midwest and have a cheese website!) the flavors with every bite were incredible! They also have a dog friendly patio which our little guy absolutely loved and he got tons of attention from the girls working! We can't wait to go back next time we are in Macon! read more

Drove through Macon on our way home to Augusta and decided to eat downtown. The place was easy to locate, and not at all busy despite it being lunchtime. It was a Monday so I'm not sure what their normal is. We both tried different burgers and they came out with the appetizer we had ordered. All was just ok food wise, and service could definitely be better. The guy was simply there to take our order and that's all he did. Overall pretty cool looking place though. This place renewed my faith in local business owners. First, they have comfortable outside seating, and a very clean, welcoming, and functional interior. Very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff to help with selections. I was waiting behind only one person to order food and was greeted with eagerness from staff asking "have you been helped". Other places you would have to be like 10th in line for them to pay attention. My food was delivered without raising a hand. The beer selections picked out for me were a wide spectrum and each with its own lasting memory... all I enjoyed and have conversation around. I received a list of my selections by name so I knew what I was drinking. I was reluctant to visit due to I'm a foodie and not fascinated by the classic burger joints. But I got hungry while there and ordered the crab and lobster burger with truffle fries. No disappointment with the food. The fries were really the best I've ever had, and I don't normally like french fries. The burger was seafood favorable with an unintrusive bun! And the wait staff.....freaking amazing! Ocmulgee is a fun spot to grab a pint and socialize. A few good in house brews and guest taps on rotation. I've enjoyed the food I've tried and think their menu revamp will serve them well. There are lots of specialty burger options, so there's sure to be something for everyone. If not, build your own to your liking. I tried the summer salad with a chicken patty recently and really liked it too. The fried cheese curds and truffle fries are yummy apps to share, or on your own. No judgement. It gets busy here on weekends and especially for events around downtown. Think Cherry Blossom, First Friday and other festivals throughout the year. They have plenty cafeteria style bench seating, and some bar counters around the beer tanks. There are two separate areas to order beer and food, which means two separate lines. You can start a tab at one and add to it at the other, which is nice if you're getting both food and drinks. Food orders can take forever, well 60-90+ minutes is what I've seen. So. Not. Worth. It. Ocmulgee is a Brewpub, not a brewery or a bar, so they close earlier. It's a good place to start out the evening, or for those who need an excuse to call it an early night. Most over rated burger joint we've been to. we waited for ages, they only opened a single register, when the food finally came out, it was ok. Meat is definitely fresh, but not worth standing in line for 30 mins and then waiting another 30 to get. Wasted our night in town when we should have walked around and enjoyed this town. read more

Selection of home made brews was good but would have been better if they offered mixed drinks as well as their own. The food was good and reasonable pricing, the service could have been a little better as when we walked inside we stood at the door for a minute until we realized we had to go order at the counter and then sit but no one was there to let us know & they only had one cash register open with a line of 5+ people. I found the food to be the highlight of this brewery. The beer was just ok, thus only 3 star rating. I am a home brewer, so am particular in my beer reviews. The food was delicious! This is a gormet burger place and you must pay the extra $1 to upgrade your fries to truffle fries. Be sure to get the truffle aioli to accompany the fries. Delicious. I ordered the Sea Creature burger which is a crab and lobster burger (no beef). It was almost all meat, not bread crumb filling. I would order again! My wife ordered the Blazing Glory burger which was good (pepper jack cheese, pico de gallo, fried egg, pickled jalapeños, signature pub sauce). She had the pickled peppers served on side so she could control the heat. They have a kids menu and my daughter enjoyed he chicken nuggets and truffle fries. When it comes to beer , they have happy hour from 4-6pm where beers are HALF OFF. We happened to come at 5 so good time for a flight of samplers and a pint. The lime gose (seasonal) was good as was the High Cotton Belgian wit bier. The other beers were a bit watered down and not super flavorful. I am in love with gose beer, and even the gose was a bit to lime juice heavy and no noticeable salt, which is a key to gose. There are two brewers. By far one of the best burgers I've ever had. The fries are hand cut and you get the options for multiple dips; if you're a dip person like myself. I tried the pub sauce (this was recommended by staff) and chipotle mayo, you can't go wrong with neither! The burger I got was the Juliette, it had a fried tomato on it. Sooooo good!! Dig the setting, location, and environment. Staff consisted of lumbersexual, bearded dudes that probably don't even know how to change a tire...no worries...they helped me choose my brew. Food staff consisted of students from the local colleges. You have to order from the cashier near the back of the establishment. Which in turn the wait staff delivers to your table. They did jack up one of my friend's orders...but we were happily inebriated to care. Keep the menu simple, I say and focus on your food. Lots of competition with a pub next door and an outstanding burger joint down the street. Truffle fries were "on fleek!" (I'm so hip) I would suggest making your burgers standout more with explosive flavor to go with the unique names. Possibly do tours or showcase your hard work making beer...I mean, you are a brew pub. Nothing fancy, again keep it simple. All in all, I'll come back and give the place another try. OBP (Ocmulgee Brew Pub) is a great burger spot in Macon. Honestly, I would say it's the best burger in Macon. Also the beer. They have great beer with a decent selection of their own crafts. Would I say the beer is the best craft beer in Macon? No, but it is still good. I have had a couple misses (maybe skip the onion rings, go cheese curds or fries) but don't let that keep you away from this great resteraunt. Seating is a bit hard with it being large picnic tables, seat yourself but they move people through quick. Would eat if I was a visitor to Macon! read more
