There are three options for housing at Oceanview.
1. Buy a condo.
2. Rent from CitiGroup.
3. Rent from a condo owner.
I'm renting from a condo owner, which seems to be the best way to go as the landlord is responsible for all in-unit repairs. Renting from CitiGroup means you cannot make cosmetic enhancements, from what I understand. (IE: you cannot take down the existing (dirty and disgusting) curtains or paint unapproved colours).
The full time superintendent is not friendly and not approachable. The part time super is a people person and have had some good conversations with her.
A few things this management team could improve on are:
- Sustainability
All memos are printed and distributed between the door farm and door knob of all units
- Safety & Security
Garage door went unrepaired for a long weekend which means access to the building was available and vehicles could have been vandilized out of the eyes of the public
A couple pros regarding the building:
- Location
Grocery store, liquor store, gas stations are nearby
- Pet friendly
At the end of the day...it's an apartment building in Dartmouth. People are loud, garage doors break down and the elevator stinks. The rent is reasonable, but I will definitely not be renewing my lease due to the attitude of the management and the loudness of the units above me. read more
