At one point we had told her to got the a lower price and they took it upon themselves to adjust the price even lower without concent. Originally we had winter pictures and had ask her to come out and take newer spring ones since we had opened the pool and the deck and fire pit were all set up also. She came and took one pic of the front of the house from her car and left, leaving the winter pics up on MLS. We have felt that their effort has been lack luster to say the least, not even driving to meet us in person to present the offers and explain the paperwork, emailing them and we would have to print, sign, scan, and email them back, very unprofessional. Maybe they should stick to condos and multi-million dollar listings in Chester.

My boyfriend and I rented with Killam in Dartmouth and halfway through our lease I was counting…read moredown the days until we could leave. Unfortunately, we stayed around for 13 months because it took awhile to find a decent new place to rent. The supers/resident managers were nice for the most part, and the office employees were also quite nice. However, noise complaints (and there were tons as sound travels - you can hear the person below you coughing, sneezing, etc) meant nothing, laundry facilities were terrible (we wasted tons of money because they never worked and near the end of our lease we started going to a laundry mat) and they never fixed them despite numerous complaints. Also, the apartment was not very updated for the cost of rent- some kitchen cabinets did not close/open properly etc. We also had an issue with our windows (mold growing - we were told by the man they did send to look at it that there was no insulation around the windows). Also, our heat control was broken and went unfixed for around 6 months - it was like a sauna in the apartment until it was fixed, and many of the windows only stay open with a stick. The rent also went up on the anniversary date by a significant amount, and that was the last straw for us. On the positive side, it was a good learning experience and we knew what questions to ask/what to look for at our new place. We are very happy with our new place and it is not even comparable to Killam - the price is cheaper, 250 sq ft bigger, balcony, dishwasher, brand new flooring/doors, amazing laundry facilities on site for half the price, and great location in Dartmouth. My advice is to rent with local management companies as they care more about their tenants. However, the renting experience with Killam can be different for everyone as my brother has rented with them for a couple of years now and he has had very little issues and loves it (except for the laundry facilities). Just make sure you ask the right questions and really check out the apartment before signing the lease - and check comparables in the area to make sure you are getting a good rental price.

We were told when we moved in that it was a fully secure building, you only have access to your own floor, but if you knew people who lived on another floor they would allow you access to that floor as well. So we encouraged our friends to move into this building as well only for the building management to pretend like they never told us this, treat us like we were stupid, and then we find out that the majority of tenants actually have access to other floors, especially ours. When we brought this up to them they told us it was a mistake and that we can't have access because it's a security issue, but they will not revoke anyone else's access either. Useless company, should be fined for lying to perspective tenants. 10/10 DO NOT RENT HERE.

I have read that some people have complained about certain few individuals speeding through the parking lot. Residents and management have been vigilant, and have been working with the police to stop this menace. My partner and I feel totally at home here. I highly recommend these apartments. Having a BBQ and being able to use my AC was 2 HUGE selling features, and that they seem to be choosy about who they let rent, which meant the building was always quiet. Now, You get it sit in the humid apartments that just keep all the heat inside, you had to sell\toss out your BBQ.. it smells of weed daily, you cant even have your bedroom window open in the evenings without your apartment smelling like it. You walk out into the hallways and its all you can smell. Good luck if anyone comes to visit cause people who don't want to pay for parking just use the visitor area and they do noting about it. What used to be a nice quiet place to live has gone down hill.. and it really sucks!
