Sean was a great host! The apartment was very clean and I would definitely stay there again.

Angel's House Rest & Recovery - Our Single Bed Suites

    Angel's House Rest & Recovery

I made a reservation with Angels' House after it was recommended by Sono Bello for my unique…read moresituation. After explaining to Sono Bello that I was mom to a 10 year old and caretaker to my elderly parent, she told me about AH and told me that it would in all likelihood be a great solution to my quandary. I called AH, explained SonoBello's referral, told them I had a 10 year old child and an elderly parent that I was unable to leave the child with, and was directed to make my reservation online. So, I did. $493. Fast forward to the day prior to the procedure. I called AH to make pick-up arrangements for myself and my son, and was curtly informed that the child was not allowed. "I had not disclosed that information, and there are women wandering around who have had procedures" etc. I was dumbfounded. First... there must have been some wires crossed somewhere, or maybe the owner was in too big a hurry to get me off the phone, because I did mention my child. Apparently she assumed the second guest was my father. Second... "women wandering around"? I was under the impression that this was not in the nature of a private home that was in any way informal or with public areas, but rather that I would have private areas to myself and the second person I had paid for. I informed the owner that this meant I would have to cancel my procedure, and she really did not care. So I did so, asking her to cancel the reservation, obviously, since she was denying my second party admittance (and thus me, since I kinda come with him). Fast forward a month later. I notice that the $493 has not been refunded to my account and call. Her position is that it's not going to be refunded because there are no refunds. Um. Seriously, epically baffled by this. Angels' House tells me I can't come because they misunderstood something ... but then refuses to refund my money? I SMELL A RAT. I'm in process of contacting the BBB, and have also contacted Sono Bello to alert them about the shady business practices being conducted by this business.

InTown Suites - The freaky hairball in our room. Totally grossed me out.

My husband and I crashed here for one night. We arrived around two in the morning (a friend…read morechecked us in earlier; the front desk closes at 11) and just needed a bed until morning. The room was shabby; the furniture was very old and worn, with plenty of spots where the faux wood finish was rubbed off. This might seem like such a small detail, but there was a huge, extremely nasty-looking hairball on the floor of our room. It was something that absolutely should have been caught by housekeeping; my eye went right to it as soon as we walked through the door. This hair monster totally skeeved me out, and definitely colored my perception of the room's cleanliness for the remainder of our brief stay. Needless to say, I declined to shower here. The bed was comfortable enough, and the linens appeared clean. It served its purpose as a crash pad. That being said, the run-down appearance and questionable overall cleanliness would discourage me from staying for longer than a night if it could be avoided.

It's cheap. That's the only positive thing I can say about this place. I spent a week here because…read moreit's where my company put me up while out of town on business. I spent about 10 minutes in the first room they gave me and realized it was infested with cockroaches. They switched me to another room on another floor and it took a few hours before I saw the first cockroach. The hotel is infested. There's a huge group of smokers that always hang out right in front of the front door, blocking the doorway. They never move out of the way without being asked to while you try to get around them and their disgusting cloud with your hands full of luggage. And the staff does nothing to dissuade them from hanging out there. Speaking of doors... The exterior doors all either don't close all the way or slam extremely hard when you let them go. The interior doors barely latch and rattle every time the exterior doors slam. The A/C is loud but barely works. The furniture is old and torn up. The carpets are stained. The hallways and stairwells are disgusting both in sight and smell. Housekeeping only comes once a week and doesn't change out the dirty towels. I guess InTown Suites expects you to go downstairs and pay $3.50 to wash their towels in their disgusting laundry room. They need to change their name to InTown Sours. This place is horrible.
