I absolutely love Oceanside KinderCare! Our experience here has been incredible. All of the teachers are wonderful, caring, and genuinely invested in the children, and the manager/director of the Oceanside location is absolutely amazing. She really takes the time to personally get to know not only the kids, but their parents as well. That personal connection makes the overall experience 100 times better and really makes you feel comfortable and welcomed as a parent. I have watched my daughter thrive so much during her time here. Her teachers have taken the time to encourage and support her through so many important milestones--from learning to crawl, to walking, talking, and becoming more independent. I've truly watched her grow into her own little person while attending this daycare, and I know her teachers have played such a huge role in that. It means so much to know that when I drop my daughter off, she is surrounded by people who genuinely know her, care about her, help her learn, and celebrate her accomplishments. When I first went back to work, my daughter was only 9 months old. Like many of you, I found out quickly that most daycares only start at 1 year old, and spots were hard to come by. Out of desperation, I pounced on the first opening I found at KinderCare. I'll forever regret that decision. The assistant director even told me, "KinderCare isn't known for those crazy child abuse stories." And I believed her, without doing my own research. A simple search would have proven her wrong before I signed my daughter up. From the start, it was obvious my baby hated being there -- and it wasn't just separation from me. The staff seemed burned out, and my little girl was left to cry alone in corners. She would scream in relief when I picked her up, and she gave me that heartbreaking "mommy, where were you?" look. She came home with marks on her multiple times. Every time I asked, I got the same runaround: "no one saw what happened" or "another child pushed her." The worst was when I noticed her pacifier clipped awkwardly in the center of her chest. Later, during bath time, I found a bruise in the exact spot. When I called, the story shifted again -- from "no one knows" to "another child pushed her that morning." I knew in my heart it was more than that. The thought of an adult being frustrated and snapping the clip onto her chest still breaks me. I pulled her out after just three weeks -- three weeks too long. She's at a new center now, and the difference is night and day. She's happy to go to school, and of course happy to see me at pick-up, but not with that same fear and sadness in her eyes. I'm beyond grateful for the staff and teachers at Kindercare. They truly love what they do and I know they love my babies wholeheartedly. My son has been through 4 different classrooms there from infant to pre-k over the last 3 years and they have nurtured and taught him so many important skills. UPDATED** The director Melissa was a nightmare overall very unprofessional behavior. She ended up texting me and my fiancé to remove the yelp reviews & she continued to harass my family a year after we had already left the center just so she can try to get me into deleting the previous review. Her behavior is unacceptable and KinderCare was very unresponsive with all the issues we had at this center! Original Review** My son had been coming to this center for a little over a year. At first we loved the center, staff, and director they were all amazing! They were so amazing we decided to come back after taking a month or two off during the holidays. Mrs. Daphne & Wilma were the best. My son loved his teachers Chelsea & Jessee! But ever since my son had been back to this center everything was extremely unorganized and very unprofessional. I had walked in a few times to drop off my son when kids were jumping from tables, crying and behavior that I've never seen at this facility. My son was having a new teacher every day and after working so hard to potty train him so he can go to the discovery preschool he began having accidents every single day. He would come home crying and playing very differently at home. I brought this to the new directors attention and she assured me they would have new staff and this wouldn't continue to happen. Later on I noticed a lot of teachers were leaving the facility. If not all the teachers. Again I brought it to the directors attention. Every time there was an issue here or something that needed to be addressed to Melissa but nothing seemed to get better. There were times were my sons dad would pick him up and it still wouldn't show me on the app so I'd have to call and check if he was picked up. We are younger parents so we'd been behind our payment a few times when he showed me msgs of the director saying she would waive late fees if he brought her coffee I got upset since he wasn't even the account holder I was and when I would ask about the account she'd update me so I didn't understand how she took initiative to start texting him. When I found out she called me. She obviously used the system to pull up peoples numbers and contact them from her personal cell phone which I also don't think is professional. Overall KinderCare didn't respond to any of these issues that we were dealing with or took any responsibility for there staff! I'm bringing light to this facility and the unprofessional behavior of the new director Melissa, she's been a nightmare and extremely unprofessional. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with KinderCare Oceanside. Daphne and Wilma are absolute ANGELS. I was terrified to drop off my first born baby with anybody other than family at 5 months old when I returned to work, but they made me feel so comfortable and safe. My daughter absolutely adored her teachers and you can tell that they adored her, too. We got at least 1 photo update a day, and several times got a praising description of what my daughter learned that day. We were so sad to leave when my husband got relocated out of state and have yet to find another daycare we loved as much as KinderCare Oceanside! This place is fantastic. The directors,Ms. Daphne and Ms. Wilma, and teachers are really friendly and always seem happy. They write daily reports of our baby's food intake amounts and diaper changes. They change her diaper very frequently so no worry about diaper rash. In addition, they include baby food and formula in the tuition! They have been really accommodating and are willing to mix milk and oatmeal into her food by request. Highly recommended. read more

I started my 3 month old here when I had to return to work full time and they made the transition back as easy for me as it possibly could have been. The daycare seemed nice but the communication was terrible. I contacted them 6-7 months prior to needing a childcare. We scheduled a tour. A week later i contacted them again and said we were interested. They said they had a spot for him and that they were going to forward the paperwork i need to fill out soon. I havent heard anything back for a couple of weeks so I contacted them again. They told me the person whom i talked to was assistant director and she had quit. So the director had no clue about our conversations. She was able to see that i toured but that is it. So they did not save the spot for him. Then she said she would make an arrangement and save me the spot to honor our previous agreement even though they were fully booked. But whenever I asked for things in writing (everytime i email to confirm start date she would call back and confirm over the phone) she said she would write an email right away but she has never done it. I kept calling and sending emails.. it has been 4 monts.. still nothing. At least we were lucky to find another daycare for my son last minute but their unreliability stressed us out a ton while we were panicking to find a last minute alternative. read more

I found out about the Oceanside Kindercare through a Groupon deal I happened to come across at a time where I really needed it. I'm so thankful I did because my 5 year old daughter started in School Age Care this week and absolutely loves it. I love hearing about her daily adventures... painting, creating, playing, meeting pirates and petting all sorts of reptiles in just 4 days!! I would not recommend KinderCare to any family or friends. Half of the teachers don't even know what's going on.. Whenever I had a concern or would ask about an incident regarding my child I almost always received the same response. "I don't know. It might have happened with a morning or afternoon teacher" or "We'll contact you later on". Daily sheets are very vague and never fully completed. On multiple occasions my child's diaper was soaked at the end of the day. There was even a time where the teachers couldn't locate my child. When you leave your child in the care of a licensed facility you expect them to communicate with each other and have a headcount of the children at ALL times. Although a lot of the teachers (including the director) are very nice, you have to constantly stay on top of things because they're not very urgent with parents' concerns. read more

I was so hesitant on taking my 2 and 3 year old boys to preschool until later ages but I was left with no choice because of my school schedule. When I first toured the daycare, we really loved the place because the director was such a sweet talker and made everything seem so wonderful. I thought that this place would be good for my child. The second day my child was going to this daycare. She was telling me that kids in her class would hit her and bite her. I tried to downplay it and I still let my kid go to the same place. I tried asking the director of the things my child was saying, but she said nothing was happening and she would speak to the teachers. Two weeks passed and the director kept saying nothing was happening, as soon as my child would see me she would start crying and I had to carry her like a baby. Dropping her off was so difficult it was really worrying me. I asked her what was wrong and she would not want to tell me. We get home she goes straight to the bathroom, so I help her lift up her shirt and there I found a huge bruise like a bite mark on her tail bone and in her spine. I called the daycare and asked for explanations, but all the director said was nothing happened at school and the teachers know nothing about it. The next day a teacher comes up to me and tells me a boy grabbed my child by the arm and wiggling it trying to get my child out from the bike that they were riding and the teacher in charge told the boy to stop!. Still they would not give me any explanations. I would not recommend this school. Aside from children being abused, the children are always dirty! The teachers don't even bother wiping their faces and they get picked up with runny noses and buggers hanging from their noses! The classrooms are so so dirty! I pulled my child out from that daycare and never again going back. read more
