While remodeling my 1/2 bath, I had to cut out quite a bit of drywall to mitigate some moisture issues. I put out a request for bids and Oceanside Drywall gave me a very reasonable quote. The communication was excellent from the start and they were able to come out the next day and start the work. I had forgotten to tie up a wiring change in my ceiling but they were very accommodating about coming back later in the week to finish the job. They were super cool about it. I found Oceanside Drywall after scouring Yelp and Angies List for a local company with solid reviews. They were my top pick "on paper" and my experience was positive from the get go. Step 1, the estimate. My job was small - replacing a small amount of drywall after water damage. It went around a bullnose corner and I wanted to be sure the texture matched what I have (a Santa Barbara type hand finish). I texted with Chris and provided photos. He responded within less than 10 minutes with a fair price. (A neighbor in construction and some online searches had told me what to expect.) We scheduled the job by texting and Chris kept me up to date on the timing. Step 2, the actual work. Chris' brother Joe added the new drywall, the metal base needed on the corner, etc. He did a couple coats of whatever they put on top of the drywall and let things dry in between. He recreated the same type of markings as the rest of my wall and you'd never know work had been done on the wall or the bullnose corner. Joe also fixed another problem I had where two walls came together and it had looked lumpy and he didn't even charge me. Joe left the work area spic and span. I found both brothers to be both professional and nice to work with. I would definitely use Oceanside Drywall again and recommend them without reservation. read more

Joe is by far and away amazing! I recently had water come through the light fixture in my living room and had the ceiling opened up to dry out. I called Katie to set up an appointment and she said they were booked the week before Christmas. When she called back with the date, she said Joe was able to squeeze me in before company comes for the holiday. That is service. I was a little fearful that I would notice the drywall patch and the texture wouldn't match exactly. Joe hit a home run! The texture matches and I can't tell I had holes in my ceiling. Had to do some work to get in touch with this business. I never received a reply to my Yelp request for a quote. I finally left a phone message. I day later I received a text asking for pictures. I sent pictures and detailed measurements. After a few text exchanges I received a quote for more than 4 times what other companies were quoting (including the insurance company estimate.) I think they're one of these businesses that think their work is worth (by a lot) more than the industry norm, and they will throw a quote (via text) at you and hope it sticks. I was in the middle of redesigning my pantry and doing a new frame for my pantry and closet and realized my expertise is not drywall mudding or texturing. I called Joe and he responded very quickly to my request for a quote. Some of the reviews mention he is a little on the expensive side, but let me tell you its worth it to get the job done right. If mudding/texturing is done wrong it will be very evident after painting. This is one of the more critical processes when it comes to the finished look. You have to make sure this part is done right. Joe and his team are amazing! I'm so glad I reached out to him. The finished product is perfect!
