The fish of the day was sea bass in a delicate tarragon buerre blanc over zucchini noodles. Seared Tuna was also enjoyed by several. Flounder on an okra cake was unique and yummy but the flounder was unexpectedly fried. Pork ribeye (I've never seen that before) was huge. Appetizers included she crab soup which was similar to lobster bisque complete with sherry. Crab salad was light and refreshing. Mango gazpacho could have been blended to be more soup like, as served was more of a salsa. Regardless of any little comments, this was our favorite meal of many. Thank you!

Unfortunately, the service has been consistently poor the past two years, so we had decided to stop going. At the last minute, my boyfriend and I decided to give it one more chance with just the two of us, thinking the previous issues may have been due to our large family group. Ironically, the service this time was excellent, and the food was delicious. We ordered drinks, she crab soup for both of us, an appetizer, steak, and the crab cake entree. While we were eating, I noticed the table next to us had ordered a single crab cake as an add-on to one of their dishes. Their crab cake looked completely normal. My entree, which came with two crab cakes, looked noticeably different, they weren't fully formed and had an unusual appearance. I noticed it but didn't think much of it at the time. The crab cake tasted fine, but because we had ordered so much food, I ate less than half of one before taking the rest home. A few hours after dinner, I became violently ill and spent the entire night sick. The next morning, my boyfriend and I tried to determine what could have caused it. The only food I had eaten that no one else did was the crab cakes. Every other thing was shared with at least one other person, and many of those same foods were also eaten by the rest of our beach group. No one else became sick. Because I was still feeling so ill, I asked my boyfriend to call the restaurant, not to ask for compensation, but simply to let them know what had happened so they could investigate and hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. The manager's response was that "there is a GI bug going around." She said she would speak with the kitchen manager and owner and call us back. Four days later, we have yet to receive any follow up. Whether or not the restaurant believes the crab cakes were the cause, dismissing a customer's report by immediately suggesting an unrelated illness, then failing to follow up as promised, is disappointing and unprofessional. We weren't looking for a refund or free meal, we simply wanted to make them aware of a potentially serious issue. Given our previous experiences with declining service and now the way this situation was handled, my family and I will not be returning. The food has always been one of our favorites, which makes this outcome even more disappointing.

The atmosphere is super fun, lots of cool island and nautical decor. Although we sat inside, they have a fun outdoor space and playground for kids. We were seated and greeted right away, and our server was incredibly friendly! They have a pretty extensive menu. One nice thing about the menu is that they have options that are not just seafood. We all got waters & I ordered a glass of Cabernet. I'm a sucker for Oysters Rockefeller so always try these at a new spot! These were really delicious, however, there was quite a bit of topping on the oyster and it could've been a little lighter, but still so yummy and would order again! We all ordered either the grilled chicken or grilled shrimp tacos for our entrées and they were outstanding! They are served with beans and rice but you can substitute for any other side. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries for our daughter and she enjoyed them. She's also obsessed with pickles, and the server brought us a few extra which was very sweet. I would recommend this spot. Fun atmosphere, great service, kid friendly, and yummy food!

The PIT is especially exciting when they have a live band playing outside, and I love the fact that they have both an inside and outside bar for patrons to use. As for the food and drink I got, my margarita wasn't very good, but my pepperoni pizza was immaculate! I'd say it was among the best pepperoni pizzas I've ever had. I was also very impressed with our table's server, who did a great job of both delivering our food, as well as staying calm amidst the chaos of a packed house. All-in-all, Pawleys Island Tavern is a Litchfield staple that's a must-visit every time you're in the area. I would highly recommend you stop in when you get the chance!

Her kind smile made us feel welcome. It was like visiting a friend's home. She handed us each a menu and let us know Eric will be with us soon. Eric was our server, he saw we arrived and came right over to take our drink requests. Eric's personality lights up a room. He is both friendly and professional at the same time. When he returned with our drinks we needed more time to look at the menu. He was so kind and patient with both of us. Once we were ready he came back to see what we wanted. He made a few suggestions and I agreed. I'm so happy I did. Bev was satisfied with her selection. In no time at all plates were placed in front of us. The aroma of the food transcended me back to my childhood and home cooked meals made in my Mama's kitchen. Alex was our chef and he prepared our dishes perfectly. Everything was done with care and precision. We asked for soup. Bev got the she crab soup and I got the loaded potato soup. The flavors blended like a total taste bud party. I never had the soup before but on a cold night it was just right. Bev enjoyed her soup and meal as well. The team worked together so smoothly it was like a choreographed dance. Tammy came over to talk with us for a bit. She remembered Bev and I from a Murrells Inlet. It is so nice to be recognized. We thanked everyone there. Bev and I got a desert to go. This experience at J Peter's was the best. When you go there tell them Willie And Bev sent you. Willie Conway
