This full…read moreservice delicatessen serves up a variety of made to order deli sandwiches, soups, cold salads, desserts, breakfast burritos (until 11AM), and cold drinks, plus sliced meats, cheeses, and Jolly Farmer Pork Sausage (grass fed). Most sandwiches priced $5-$6.75 and the PB&J is $3 and the Chicken Club is $8.25, tax included in the prices. See the lunch menu at http://www.thejeremiahsdeli.ca/lunch-menu.html Since it was Friday, they had Seafood Chowder (only Fridays) and I picked up a Small Seafood Chowder ($5.95 with tax) with a hard chewy roll provided to go with my lunch. The chowder was piping hot, which had a mix of seafood including lobster meat and fish in a creamy broth, not too thick. It was pretty tasty and not salty either.

Due to the time and the season we were told no food spots were open and this was likely our only option. Basically a lifesaver to prevent us from having to eat the minimal food we got in our car so we were thankful for their grab and go sandwiches and wraps. Bread was a touch soggy due to sitting in the fridge sometime but overall good size for the price sandwiches. Nothing world class or mind blowing but considering our situation and honestly price we can't complain!

This convenience store was our stop for fresh cold beverages on the way to the West Quoddy…read moreLighthouse. Not very busy this time of year (mid-March), they were still well stocked. The store is more "grocery" and less "convenience store" thanks to the large selection and the lack of large grocery stores in this part of Maine, which is right next to the Canadian border. Canned goods, candy, dairy, deli, lots of wine and beer plus the sort of automotive items you might find in a 7-Eleven including oil, anti-freeze and gasoline cans. They were stocking the pizza display as we arrived. They also sell lottery tickets. Plenty of parking out front. At this time, masks are required and the nice woman behind the counter was wearing hers when we made our purchase. [Review 14861 overall, 363 of 2021, number 47 in Maine.]

The fries tasted homemade; they were also great but again not much different than any other homemade fries. However the "fry sauce" that came with the fries was absolutely amazing! It is similar to McDonald's "Mac sauce" but better. It had such a great flavor and went great on the fries and even the fish!! Overall we had great food! The only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star review is the friendliness of the woman taking the orders. She was pretty blunt and had an aggressive tone and didn't seem too happy to be there. we could've just caught her on a bad day but since we've only been once, it's hard to tell. All in all I would probably come back again just for the fry sauce.
