Ocean Nails is the only place I'll go for my nails in New Smyrna. I've been coming here for about 15 years and since 2021 they are under new ownership. The family is very kind, friendly, and they do great work. Today my technician was Ben. I got a powder dip manicure and a gel pedicure. I did not get any cuticle trim which was okay since I generally don't like that part much, but I every other manicure I've had included a cuticle trim. The salon is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I've just had the best manicure ever in my 74 years. I live in Chicago and have had great manicures. However, I had the best manicure ever today. I went to Mia, who I'll go back to again. She was a total perfectionist. In addition, she was so kind and gentle. I went to the nail salon at 4:00 pm. It was completely filled with clients. I knew right away that was a good sign. This is a great little salon in New Smyrna. We called ahead and made an appointment for 3 pedicures. It's a very peaceful salon. All of us enjoyed our pedicures. The staff was friendly and I like that the massaging chairs worked. Sometimes it is hit or miss in salons. They have a good supply of colors as well. I came here to treat my mother and I for a belated Mother's Day manicure-pedicure. The man that did my nails was very rough and seemed annoyed when I asked him to be gentle. That was strike number one. I dealt with it because I did not want to ruin the experience for me and my mother. My mom got gel and I got dip on my nails. I thought it was strange because they felt sticky and no other dip had ever felt sticky like that when they were done. ( concern number two) Then, Within 2 to 3 days my nails were chipping. My mom's nails lasted for five days before they started chipping as well. We both had to fly home so I was not able to go back and get my nails fixed. The whole reason to pay extra for gel and it is so that they will last. I don't know what products this salon is using but it certainly does not last. read more

I had 40 minutes to get a dip manicure and they were so cordial, professional, and accommodating! I was out of there in 40 minutes and my nails looked perfect! You can tell that my nail tech know how to do dip well and has experience with it. I've been to other mail places and they have trouble from the start. I had a dip manicure with Meno. Excellent job. Very cordial folks.

I paid $185, Which included a very generous tip. The services I paid to receive included one gel pedicure, one gel manicure, one dip manicure, and a regular pedicure. We did not receive any cuticle trimming or treatment at all. The gel pedicure and manicure never sealed, and nail coatings from several of the nails flipped completely off, starting that same day. The top clearcoat on the dip manicure must have peeled in some places, but I only saw the rough undercoating. The entire dip treatment never sealed, so the nails looked like there were air pockets between the nails & coating. All gel and dip nail coatings completely fell off within about a week. We were visiting from out of state, so could not return. When I called, a translator for the owner informed me that they do not give any refunds at all, not even a partial. Nothing. read more

This place is ridiculous. I went in there, only two people working. The guy told me to sit down in a pedicure chair, barely spoke English. I sat there for 15 minutes while he finished up with his client. The water was a bit too cold, so I asked that he make it hotter. He seemed to have turned it up, but it didn't get any hotter. When he was finished with his client he went over to the sink and washed off the clippers, etc. He then went back to another room and placed them in a sterilizer bag. Then he walked straight to my chair. I asked to see his tools and he gave me a dumbfounded look. The lady that was there told him in another language to show me. The bag was not sealed, nor did it have the sterilizer color change on it. I immediately got up without letting them touch me. This place is disgusting... Not sterilizing told between clients. Don't waste your time going here. The only reason it got a single star is because I had to give it a star rating.... It didn't deserve any stars!! read more

The outcome of my dip manicure was good I won't discount that. The man that did my nails was rude from the start. He was in a rush and he was not dedicated fully to my nails. I have very sensitive skin around my nails and from the beginning I pointed to the finger and warned him not to file or mess with it. What did he do? He starts piling at it with his tools and files it and let me tell you it hurt. So I jerk away because I'm bleeding at this point. He shakes his head rudely at me like it was my fault. When it was time to pay it was $40 which is great and I didn't give a big tip as he did not deserve one and gave me a blank look like my tip wasn't good enough. Dropped in for pedicures for my 10 y/o daughter and I. They took us right away. They have kiddy pedi chairs too. Salon is clean and spacious. Reasonably priced too. Only reason I have 4 stars and not five is because they charged me adult price for my daughter's toes. Usually kid services are a few dollars cheaper, BUT i'm not complaining too much because $23 isn't bad for a pedi. Overall good place and I would come again. read more
