Best part came at the end when she refused my 20 percent tip, and insisted on $30 because it was late. I was so exhausted and out of it and not even willing to fight at that point after such an uncomfortable experience and when I got home realized she'd tipped herself $40 on an $85 bill. It was exactly what I needed but I can imagine some people just not being able to take it. Imagine a knot being found in your back and then just someone shoving their elbow in it and hearing loud popping. A highlight was that the masseuse ended the session with hot stones, which felt wonderful. When I first walked in, the place was relatively empty and peaceful, though it did start filling up quickly. There are two reasons I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. First, as a first-timer, I didn't really know the norms, and the masseuse never checked in to ask if the pressure was okay. I definitely would have liked more pressure, so a quick check-in would have been appreciated. Next time, I'll know to just speak up right away! Second, the relaxing vibe was unfortunately disrupted towards the end. A guy sat next to me and started typing loudly on his laptop and making "mmm" noises before his massage even started. It woke me up and definitely killed the zen atmosphere.
