All I can say is WOW! I logged my 101st through 107th dives with Ocean Frontiers and it was a fantastic experience to say the least. The pre-trip info and communication was excellent and the 4 days of diving was great. The entire Ocean Frontiers team was personable and outgoing with a wealth of information that they were always willing to share. The dive sites were amazing and they made it a point to ensure that we didn't repeat a site we had already dove that week.
I really liked the fact that they would conduct a guided portion of each dive that would last 25-40 minutes typically based on depth and diver air consumption and then return to the boat and allow for buddy teams with air remaining to extend their bottom times and explore the areas on their own before surfacing. This was a really nice opportunity and it allowed for initial familiarization with the dive site and a chance to check out some stuff semi-autonomously also while letting you maximize your bottom time for each dive.
Ocean Frontiers is a first class operation in all aspects; reception of divers, boat briefings, pre-dive safety and site briefs, and post dive checks. I brought my own gear (BCD, REG, Computer) while my brother-in-law rented his for the week. After each days dive's they crated my gear and thoroughly rinsed and dried all of it and then had it on the boat and set up when I arrived for the next days dives. As far as their rental gear it is all top of the line and they include a computer for every set so that you can fully maximize your bottom time based on the dive profile. I did not see a single issue of worn out or questionable gear and when a fellow diver had a minor leak from a tank valve insert they quickly swapped it out on the water.
We also did their snorkel tours with our non-diving wives and both the 3-stop reef trip and the Stingray City trip were outstanding.
Finally, they also added one of their divemasters as an additional diver to a lucky boat each day armed with a underwater camera. They followed both dives taking pictures of all the divers on the boat that day and then they gave, YES "GAVE for FREE" all the pictures to the divers on that boat. I noticed that it looked like they did this every day of the week and rotated it between their 3 boats so it was kind of a luck of draw if they were on your boat or not. We got lucky one day out of our 3 days of diving and the pictures were absolutely awesome so I can't complain a bit.
A big thanks to all the staff at Ocean Frontiers for making my first Cayman Islands trip so enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing you all again next summer as I will definitely be back.
Special thanks to Britney for the recommendation on where to snorkel from the beach to see Turtles (we saw 5 different ones) and spent over 2 hours in the water with them and for a GREAT trip to Stingray City. Not sure how you timed it so that when we arrived the 3 boats on the sandbar were leaving, giving us over 45 minutes of solo time with the Rays before another boat showed up but it was great! The turtles and rays were the highlight of the trip for my wife.
