They offered snorkeling gear, water & fruit punch to drink, and a restroom on board. The boat was large and laid out well, so it never felt crowded. The team communicated very clearly about the excursion from booking to disembarkation and overall it was just a very well oiled machine. Our tour guide Bonson worked hard to make sure every single person had a really good time and was feeling good. He was very knowledgeable, answered our questions, and overall just kept the vibes good. We definitely felt like we got our moneys worth and made really great memories on our tour.

We…read morewere very fortunate for sunny hot weather (that recharges the plankton), no rain and no moon (so as better to view the effects). There were three stops on the 2-hour tour beginning at starfish point then on to jelly fish point but the highlight was the bio-bay. With calm waters in this extra salty bay, the plankton glow with a bluish light when agitated by motion in the water. You are provided with a thin stretch onesie to guard against the small annoyance of mini jelly fish (stink is like a mosquito bite-a bit itchy) then get in the shallow dark water with a snorkel and mask. With your head down the effect you see is like something out of the Avatar movie-each breast stroke stimulates thousands of time bluish flashes in the water. WOW! Just take you time and spread out a bit and maybe circle the boat to the darker side for greatest effect. Mesmerizing! Having been on the island for 5 days doing most everything-this was the best, most memorable experience of our vacation. A MUST do! And be sure to go with Captain Marvin (or sister company Sweet Spot) for their environmental sensibility and fun crew.

While my wife and I have PADI certification, our sons do not, although they've done a number of supervised dives in the past. While one of them has been very comfortable diving, the other has been rather tense and skeptical about it. Shaggy was particularly great with him. The waves are nice and break by the shore, water gets choppy at times and I think that's why we didn't see any turtles. Snorkeling was still fun. I would def recommend.

Our family group (including 3 adults, one teen, and one 4th grader) loved this clean and uncrowded destination for late afternoon snorkeling and relaxing in the shade as the sun began to set. Like all the beaches in Grand Cayman, you'll find pristine clear, warm, blue waters. To get there, drive north past Governor's Beach and look on the left side of the road for a big graveyard full of white headstones and vaults. If you reach Public Beach, you've gone too far. Park on the beach side of the busy West Bay Road and walk through the cemetery or on one of the sandy paths adjacent to the grave yard. Set up your home base under one of the shade trees or if you're lucky as we were, you can even snag a recently vacated picnic table. Know before you go: - Beware of the loose chickens that are everywhere on the island -- they will come running if they spot any food in your possession or on the ground. - Some parts of the shoreline are fairly rocky, so water shoes may be advised if you have kids who want to play at the shore. - There are no restrooms, so do your business before you arrive. From the north side of the cemetery, swim about 30-50 yards out and you'll hit a very nice reef in 10-30 feet of water. We saw at least 30 different kinds of fish, large and small, tons of sea urchins, rays & crabs, and various types of coral. Most of the time, we had the whole area to ourselves, but every so often, another small group of snorkelers would join us, either swimming up or arriving on kayaks. Still, it was way more serene than an earlier trip we had on one of the afternoon snorkel boat trips with 30+ other people. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we came back again for a second time the following evening. The USS Kittiwake wreck site and underwater museum is about 400 yards out from shore. It's marked by buoys and you're likely to see a few dive boats anchored nearby. Diving or snorkeling this site requires paying a fee and receiving a medallion or wristband through a local dive outfit; these funds help maintain and preserve the site.
