I just had a gum graft done by Dr. Zatzkin and I highly recommend him for any periodontal care you…read moremight need. The entire procedure was painless and so far my recovery has been a breeze -- no pain, no swelling. Dr. Zatzkin's staff is fantastic as well. This entire practice is five stars!

A gum graft may not evoke the idea of a fun hour to anyone, but my experience with Dr. Jeffrey…read moreZatzkin was as close to painless and relaxed as one can get--including attentive presurgical prep by the wonderful Quaneesha until the doctor arrived and the care the doctor took in administering the anesthesia injections, then the swift, stress-free procedure, Dr. Zatzkin and crew exude competence as well as a touch of good humor, making the whole experience a piece of cake. And Dr. Z ensures that you know what to do for proper aftercare, leaving nothing to nothing to chance. His post-procedure call to check up on me that evening was the icing on the that cake. This won't be the first rave review I've written about Dr. Zatzkin and his office--just the latest since I began my long journey to better gum health well over a decade back, including implants, a first gum graft and pinhole gum surgery he's qualified to perform, which was both successful and virtually a cakewalk thanks to his mastery of the procedure. Hey, it's not an exciting topic, but I think of Dr. Z's expertise and good nature as symbolic of something grander in terms of my having complete confidence in his skills in a world where most of us find our confidence in services severely lagging. To say it best, I'll echo a letter I read in his office from another loyal, satisfied patient, which says, "Thank you for making my gum repairs enjoyable." Yes, the words "gum repairs" and "enjoyable" may sound oxymoronic, but between the terrific, helpful staff--five stars to all, the above-mentioned Quaneesha; Dana, my fave hygienist; Rachel, who got my insurance info processed and approved (hallelujah!); and Krystal at the front desk, whose calm, helpful presence is so welcome-- and the doctor's firm handshake and warm smile whenever I visit, it's the single most enjoyable gum-repair experience from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine--or Portland, Oregon, for that matter! Trust is a rare commodity nowadays--and I trust Dr. Z.

NIGHTMARE!! After a long wait in a small office I was called back. They took x-rays even though I…read morebrought my own that was less than three wks. old. The room was filthy (the waiting room was cleaner), tools were not covered or wrapped, and a live fly in the spit bowl. Starting to rethink this place I went out front to call hubby whom made my appointed. So I decided to suck it up because teeth are really bad. When I returned Dr. Maron was in the room and seemed agitated by the fact I wasn't waiting for him when he arrived. The only thing he said was, "What teeth are we pulling?" I told him (2 xrays?) He proceeded to ask me again, and I repeated which teeth & told him they're the only 2 on that side so it shouldn't be to hard to find them. He took the needle jabbed it into my gums (no topical/numbing ointment applied) causing me to visibly clench up my body & clutching the chair I moan in pain, he jabs me again harder than the first leaving me to push his hand away from my mouth, he replies "that should numb ya up" at the moment I'm flying out of the chair. I exclaim, "that's not how you numb a mouth, I'm out of here!!" I gather my kids from the waiting room visibly shaken and leave. A dental assistant follows me out asking me if I want to go back. Of course I told her No!! & that I've had dental work done before & that's not how it's done. Get out to parking lot with numb mouth & spitting blood. I've had dental work done before. Overall a complete nightmare. Please don't take your family to this Dr. Moran (works @ other offices too) Worst experience I've ever had with the medical field. I would rate 0 if I could.
