Today I had the most horrifying experience during a teeth cleaning. The electric tool got stuck between my teeth and it had to be removed very rough. The hygienist was aware I had an inspire device surgery 3 weeks ago, as I let her know right before the procedure. Yet, she moved my head back in a jerk movement , so the tool would come out. The gap in my teeth's appeared immediately after the incident and dentist completely ignored the situation when examining my teeth. He told me the gap was caused by built up being removed and not the tool being stuck. The X-Ray clearly shows that is not true, so did the hygienist acknowledging the incident. When I asked for the note for the visit acknowledging what just had happened Dr. Jason was rude and refused to give me the note and told his staff to ignore me. The receptionist would not answer me and she asked me to step out of the clinic when I said I was not feeling well. I called 911 as I thought I was having a stroke from all the stress. The emergency showed up and my blood pressure was at 185/100 and I was clearly distressed they asked me if I would like to go to the hospital. Not in any moment any staff or the doctor stepped out to check on me. The police officer had to go inside and get the note acknowledging I had the appointment there. I chose to wait outside and calm down as suggested by the emergency crew. I hope my inspire device surgery didn't get affected by this careless attitude in this clinic. I went to this place to have a broken crown replaced. It was a bad experience. The staff was abusive towards me; the doctor was narrow-minded and lacked understanding of my EMF Hypersensitivity condition and was not able to think critically about my specific dental condition. She was dogmatic in following her rules in terms of getting multiple x-rays which were unnecessary (in particular, she insisted on getting an x-ray when delivering the crown - this is not standard practice, and she wouldn't hear any other point of view). She also didn't understand (or even listen) when I insisted that they needed to take models of both sides of my mouth to get the right bite. The crown their lab made for me is too small, and the bite is off, but there is no way I'm going back to this place. She also insisted on making the tooth under the crown even smaller, even though that was completely unnecessary. Any time I tried to reason about anything, she treated me like I was a fool and she knew better. She wasn't even open to listening to the patient requests, point of view, or questions. read more

Easily one of the highest quality dentists in Melbourne, if not the highest. The front staff was friendly and welcoming. They made sure to make me feel at home and reassured me that I'd be in to see the dentist very quickly. I started off with the dental assistant. She did a very good job at taking x-rays of my teeth. It was not painful and she was very, very quick. After that, the dentist reviewed my x-ray with me. He pulled out a camera that projected onto a big screen TV in front of my dental chair and showed me all the nuances and details of my teeth. He spent time with me explaining the benefits of brushing and flossing and how they lead to healthier teeth and gums, all while showing me the inside of my mouth on the big screen TV. After that, the dental assistant proceeded to polish my teeth. It did not take too much time and my teeth ended up being polished and white. The dentist came back and then cleared the plaque from in between my teeth. Before I knew it, I was done with my exam. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and my experience was as pain-free as it was quick. The quality from the front desk to the dentist was phenomenal and I will be back for my teeth whitening. After relocating to the area, I was seeking a new dentist and this practice had received very high (old) reviews. I gave them a go even though it took three months to obtain an appointment. What a complete waste of time. I was matched with a 'hygienist' that actually seemed drunk or stoned, she repeated the same odd sentences about herself 4 or 5 times, while digging randomly into my month and missing the actual cleaning areas while stabbing me in the gums. It was so bad I had to end the 'cleaning' and let the front desk people know that this was becoming a bizarre torture session. I NEVER have had a problem with a dentist before! The staff assured me that they would fix the issue and fit me in for a cleaning with another hygienist soon. So that was in April, now it June and do you think I ever heard back? Nope. Also they had the nerve to submit a claim to my dental insurance that will now be denied. I was scheduled for a tooth implant last week at Ocean Breeze and Dr. Jason Wetmore specifically prescribed 3 pills of Triazolam (Halcion) 1.5 hours before the procedure. Unfortunately,, this dosage was 3 times the recommended dosage for a man of my weight and age and for the next 15 hours I fell into a near comatose state. When my wife called the Ocean Breeze office in a panic, she was told "Don't worry unless he stops breathing" To make matters worse, the office just sent me a $50 bill for a missed appointment. Although I have asked several times for Dr. Wetmore to call me about his prescription error, he has never called me or offered any type of apology. Needless to say, this long term patient will not be going back to Ocean Breeze Dental. It's up to you but I suggest that you consider another dental practice that will act responsibly to protect your health and well being. (By the way. Ocean Breeze made me pay for a new crown that had to be replaced after three years and another Ocean Breeze installed crown recently fell out.) read more

Close family friends also had a significant negative experience at Ocean Breeze Dental and abruptly changed dentists. Do yourself a favor: if you are looking for a dentist in Brevard County, look anywhere but Ocean Breeze Dental on Westport Drive in Rockledge. I noticed that the bad reviews are replied by saying you cannot find them as patients, (I certainly hope you don't try that with me. Makes sense why other site has this business around 3 stars. I have never been treated so poorly, from the first time I went to this office the support staff, (mostly Amanda), has been unimaginably rude to me, I never treated her or any of them the same but for the past few years I just let it go, It's pretty clear if someone is that angry all of the time they have a pretty sad life. But I finally decided that I had enough when she was taking impressions for my flipper (which came out so terrible I couldn't wear it, even with adjustments) when I was about finished she said to me and I quote "The Dr. Will never put implants in your mouth, you have terrible hygiene" I was shocked, I even wrote down exactly what she said and put it in my phone immediately so I wouldn't forget a word, I had significant surgery earlierin the year and couldn't walk for weeks let alone stand up and brushmy teeth well. Not only was it incredibly rude but it made no sense, the week before I paid cash to see if my bone would hold implants, so that's 350 for something I only needed for the implants I am getting. I got a cleaning from my new dentist at Psj dental and turned out any plaque on my teeth was topical and came right off. So now I finished with my cavities and crowns, and psj dental will be getting my future business. I looked up how much dentists make and I'm not sure how or why Dr. Jason would continue to keep an employee who is so rude every single time we interact even my husband couldn't believe how she had spoken to me, and my husband never complains. Oh and the flipper was mailed with stamps even though I asked to pay for tracking, I have the texts showing that, it wasn't until afterwards they said they just stuck it in the mail. I'd love to see if I hear back from someone with a degree after being a patient for 4+ years, if not I will post this on every site. I would very much like to hear from the owner to know what is warrantied and what he has to say about his "assistant" speaking for him. (Oh and they also don't check insurance if most insurance doesn't cover things, even after speaking with my insurance for hours only 1 of the newer employees, the only nice receptionist, actually called and found out I was right.) They made me and feel comfortable with the detailed information provided regarding the treatment plan and how the procedure would go. I was really hopeful about finding a new dentist since moving here. This was my second dentist in Brevard. Unfortunately, after one visit I feel the need to find another dentist office. I felt rushed since the moment I got to my cleaning. The cleaning was not as good as other cleanings I've gotten at other dentist offices. They used a vibration tool instead of polishing. I felt like it didn't give me a really good cleaning. I also had an issue with the staff billing my insurance. The staff was so uncaring and genuinely only cared about making sure I knew I had to pay for the entire cost of a night guard. They kept sending me text messages harassing me saying I knew this ahead of time, I agreed to this. Not even giving me any time to dispute the claim with my insurance company. They honestly seem overworked, too busy, and overwhelmed to provide caring service. I feel like it's another bad apple in Brevard in regards to medical and dental care. Maybe it's just Florida in general, but people are so apathetic here. Who knows if I will be able to find a good dentist in Brevard. read more

This was the worst cleaning I've ever had in my life. She was very rough and sloppy. She got water all over my face, neck and it was even in my hair and on my shirt. I had to keep wiping my face with the sheet they put around your neck. When she went to floss, she had a hard time getting the floss through my teeth. I told her she needed to use the glide floss as that goes through my teeth easily. She responded okay and continued to try to get the floss through my teeth, but since that wasn't working, she barely flossed my teeth correctly. Next, she was polishing my teeth, she was fast going it up, down, side to side. I don't know what in the world she was doing. She seemed to be in a hurry and the whole procedure was rushed, and honestly, I wanted out of that office asap! I told the Doctor on hand who came to look at my teeth. I will not go back to that dentist. I have had only 2 other apts at this dentist and minor issues both times, three strikes you're out! So glad they were concerned about my pleasant visit, as they haven't even bothered to reach out to me! Time to find a new dentist. read more

My former dentist closed their office Thursday and Friday of this Memorial Day weekend and I had a very sore tooth (what turned out to be a fractured split tooth which I've had before on three other teeth). My girlfriend and I are going on a cruise next week and the pain was getting worse and I needed to find a dentist and some relief ASAP. Ironically, I went to Ocean Breeze because it's actually the closest dentist near my house. I walked in and told my story and was immediately greeted with a very caring and compassionate attitude as they searched for a way to fit me into their busy schedule. Every single person I encountered from the front office to the person who took the initial x-ray and of course the dentist we're just obviously happy to be there and professional and pleasant and confident in what they were doing, it put me at ease. When Dr Jason Wetmore examined me and told me about the fractured tooth, his expert experience, and the mastery of his craft was obvious as he ran through the options of what action he could take depending upon what he finds as he goes through each step of a deeper exam. There was a chance perhaps to save the tooth if when he removed a certain fragment and the tooth was in this or that condition, that he could apply this or that treatment etc., or if I find this then we're going to be in an extraction decision and if we're in an extraction decision then if we go implant then I can do this to prepare the bone or if we want to do a bridge and crown we'll do this other thing ... I mean it was just so comfortable knowing he knew exactly what he was doing he knew exactly what the options would be and I just knew that I was in good hands... he gave me examples of other patients that had similar situations and what the outcomes were and what the options were, etc., I mean the guy just is skilled and confident and he should be because he knows his stuff. And while he's going over all the options, the office staff is bringing me cost estimates for each outcome! I read a review of somebody else who called him arrogant and reckless (with no example of what was 'reckless') and that's just nuts ...he's highly competent and confident and that's what I want in a dentist. The tooth was extracted, the cruise is saved (I would have been a very high risk for an abscess if I had ignored it and tried to "chew around it), and I signed the transfer form to bring my records to my new dental team at Ocean Breeze Dental on my way out the door this afternoon. read more

The office staff and Dentist were very friendly and didn't keep me waiting. Had a cleaning and some cavities filled on my first visit, and it was pretty quick and pain free. The office is beautiful and has new equipment. The dental chair even has a back massager and television above it. Fees are low considering the quality of work done here. I'd go back. read more

While my previous experience has been great. What happened today will cause Ocean Breeze to lose myself and my family as continuing patients. My wife and I had appointments for Wednesday and Thursday this week. The staff at Ocean Breeze called and sent text messages to confirm the coming appointments. However, My wife and I were both working and unable to call back to confirm. My wife did respond to the text message to confirm, but apparently that wasn't enough. Were told because they hadn't spoken to us to confirm our appointments, that they cancelled them. This was more than 24 hours for my wife and more than 48 hours for my appointment. They even have a policy in place to charge $35 for appointment cancellations with 24 hours. Why would the clinic cancel them before that 24 hour period. Never have I had to call any doctor office to confirm an appointment, with a threat of losing the appointment if not done. Horrible way to manage appointments, if you ask me. read more

I needed a 2nd opinion or additional consultation after another dentist recommended a massive amount of work that I had reservations about -- I was suspicious the other dentist (new to me due to change in insurance coverage) was gouging me. Dr. Mariana saw me and said she would be more conservative and only watch a few of the minor items showign up on X-Ray vs. working on 5 or 6 teeth. Dr. Wetmore also consulted the X-Rays and exam she provided an concurred that I didn't need the work that the other practice was recommending. Whew! Katie the girl at the front desk was nice and helped reassure my worries. However you could hear all the staffs chatty conversations. And it's very unprofessional when you hear them talking about the weekend plans when they're suppose to be paying attention to your mouth. The one assistant named Amanda took me back to my room to do my xrays. She didn't even listen or care about my concerns about my anxiety. She did like 15 pictures of xrays which is the most I have ever had. Then she went to get the doctor. Dr. Jason came in didn't even introduce himself to me. I had to read it on his jacket. Then he said I had over 10 fillings to be done. I believed him because I never go to the dentist because of my extreme anxiety. So we set up a time for me to come in and be put to sleep for the 10+ fillings because of my anxiety. I come the day of the surgery still having tons of anxiety. They put me in the chair and I see all the tools. I started crying. My anxiety overwhelmed me. Amanda the assistant came in and said "you're being like a baby, grow up." She had no compassion or empathy at all to my anxiety. They put an IV in and I ask what kind of sedative she was giving me and she said "it's a whole bunch of stuff." She never told me what all the stuff she was using was called which I thought was fishy. I tend to have a reaction after waking up after sedition and she said "you'll be fine." Then during the procedure I was suppose to be asleep. I paid $1000 out of pocket to be asleep. I wasn't asleep I was "twilighted". Amanda the assistant, then was moving my mouth around roughly and pushing cotton down my throat. She went on to talk to the doctor about how weird my tattoos are rather then paying attention to my mouth. Honestly worst experience I've ever had. And this is why I don't go to the dentists. They called the next day and asked how I was. I complained about having to pay $1000 for the sedation and not even be sedated. Dr. Jason claims I was comfortable. However I was far from that in the hands of Dr. Jason and his staff at Ocean Breeze Dental. After a month after the procedure I asked to get a copy of my dental records. I asked for the medication they used during the procedure and dosage. Two weeks later I get a copy of my X-rays and a hand written note in form of an email of what drugs they used during the procedure but never the dosages or physical copies of those records. I went in to have a few teeth looked at that had fillings done on them about a month prior that just never completely felt right again so I went in to have them examined and one of the medical assistants (Amanda) started getting a little nasty with me because I "waited too long" to come back to have them examined (granted I work at an essential business so I've been working everyday up till the day I had taken off for an appointment to have my teeth checked out Well Amanda became rude with me and walked away and proceeded to run her mouth to her coworkers(that are only about 20 feet from the chair I was in) about how I was the one being rude, saying her kid would never talk to an adult the way I did (I'm 22 and won't let you disrespect me in any way shape or form. But I wasn't at any point rude) I spoke with another assistant about the issue and she told me Amanda has a known problem with running her mouth about patients while they are in the building. Once this business fixes my teeth I will never come back nor any of my family who have actively used ocean breeze dental for years. Dr. Wetmore has been my dentist for nearly five years now and he's been the best and most thorough of all the previous ones. I first came to him with severe periodontal disease and under his treatment and maintenance sessions, I have seen steady gains and vast improvements within the 'pockets'. I first went to Ocean Breeze in June of 2014 for an emergency (broken tooth that was VERY painful). I was referred by my best friends, and they knew I was scared to death of dentists due to several bad experiences I had in the past. I was told to contact Katie, the Office Manager, to set up an appointment, which I reluctantly did, and told her how frightened I was. I first saw Dr. Mary, who knew of my concerns, and cared for me like I was one of her own. I had to have a few root canals, and bit the bullet and made the appointment to have them done. Once again, the care that was shown was amazing. Then, I broke another tooth, and saw Dr. Jason..... who is an amazing person, and has done major procedures to make my mouth healthy again!! I can tell you all that Dr. Jason and his assistants, Shawna and Amanda, have restored my teeth and given me back my smile!! And Katie is the heart of the operation - she has helped me through so much, and I am eternally grateful to Dr. Jason and these three beautiful ladies for EVERYTHING they have done for me. The care, concern, and understanding they have shown me is worth its weight in gold. I am no longer the scared, shaking patient that I first was, and actually look forward to going to the dentist! I am proud to call Ocean Breeze my dental family, and refer them to everybody I know. I have never received such top-notch care, and, once again, I cannot thank them enough.
