She took the time to fully answer all of our questions. Her knowledge, experience, professionalism, thoughtfulness and thoroughness put our fears to rest. The extraction went well and was performed in a timely manner. She discussed our questions about after care. She provided a number to call to reach her after hours as well. The front desk and surgical staff were friendly, professional, and answered all of our pre and post procedure questions. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice as they are excellent. I cannot say that about other dental specialists in the area.

There were no complications and recovery was fairly quick for me (I also applied DMSO for faster healing.) I was shown what possible complications could potentially occur during surgery and what those options would be (just in case) before commitments were made. Everything went well and the contingencies were not needed. I did not have covering insurance, but the costs were not any more than my in-network insurance dentists had quoted. The latter may also be a reflection upon unscrupulous in-network dentists (name withheld) refusing to grant treatments without agreeing to unnecessary procedures, it is worth noting that I didn't have any unneeded options being pressed with this dentist, and I appreciate that honesty and professionalism. For the dentist and staff, thank you. There were no problems requiring follow-up!

Dr Robert L Burns, I previously posted my review of Dr…read more Burns on yelp a few years ago. And I posted photos of myself afterwards, with a black eyes and a swollen face. After he removed an impacted u eye tooth. So im now reposting this review because i want others to know that he is not a gentle dentist or a gentleman either. I read another post once on how he pulled the wrong tooth of a lady and then tried to put it back in...can you believe that...it happened. As far as myself, He treated me horribly. Im 80yr old today, I was 77 at the time I was referred to him to surgically remove an impacted eye tooth, before I could have dentures made. My dentist must have hated me and wanted me to endure pain, because I surely got it from Burns. Most dentist, in my experience try to keep a patient from having pain, they carefully inject novacane and slowly. Not Burns, he drove the needle in 3 consecutive times and ramed it very hard. I immediately complained that he was to rough. He offered that I was welcome to get up and leave at that point. I now wish I had, but id didn't, he left the room for a about 2 minutes, not 5, 10, or 15...came back and said you should be numb now. I wasn't close yet. He took a scalpel and began slashing my gums open. Then took his pliers and grabbed my impacted tooth and began pulling and twisting it as hard as he could , he had to put his other hand over my face to use to push against for leverage. It came out, he stuffed a wad of gause to catch the blood, then began walking to the door, he said that I could leave now and check out at the desk. At that point I realized why a lady was crying going out the front door when id got there. I will never recommend that man to anyone else as long as I live. Hes just after the money as fast as he can make it. That is all thats important to him. If dont mind pain, and want quick treatment, hes your man... G. Sadler

She…read morechose to have a local anesthetic after the assurance from Dr. Burns that this method was routinely and frequently done. Dr. Burns began the procedure by administering numbing agents into her mouth. His hands were shaking with tremors as he pulled her cheek to the side and literally rammed 2 shots in each side of her lower jaw. There was nothing gentle about it! In all my years of dental procedures, I have never seen anything like it. It was as if he was using a nail gun to put down roofing. Bam. Bam. Bam! Then, he rammed another shot up in to the palate of her mouth, patted her on the shoulder and said "that one's gonna make you cry. I'll be back in 15 minutes when you're numb". He seemed to get a kick out of what he'd just done. Within seconds, she did began to cry because of the intense pain and then it quickly turned to difficulty breathing, followed by her losing the use of her hands! They clawed up and she could not open them! I ran for a nurse and the girl who came in to assist us laughed at my daughter and told her she was overreacting. They brought in an ice pack. I insisted Dr. Burns return and he proceeded to spout off about how he's never seen anything like this in 40 years and it's nothing he did wrong. He angrily told my daughter to "just breathe and calm down or he'd have to call an ambulance" like that was a threat. After a brutal 5-10 minutes of me massaging her hands and helping her catch her breath, Dr. Burns said he would not proceed with the extraction (yeah, no duh!!) and to call the office to schedule sedation. We got the hell out of there and were SO grateful he didn't perform any surgery on my daughter!! I did not do my due diligence in reading reviews on him because we trusted our general dentist (no longer though). Having paid up front before my butt barely hit the seat, I immediately called our cc company to dispute charges, called their office manager, and had her records sent over for documentation. The operative report they sent was full of lies. After finally reading the horrendous reviews on this doctor, it's obvious he should have been sued a hundred times by now and his license taken from him. What happened with my daughter was a result of Dr.Burns hitting a blood vessel while ramming the numbing needle in and out of her mouth allowing the epinephrine to enter directly into her bloodstream. This in turn caused an intense systemic reaction including elevated blood pressure, racing heart, extreme fight or flight anxiety, eye/vision problems, and a dreadful fear that she was dying. This office should be avoided at all costs!!! In hindsight, we are both grateful she had this reaction we were able to escape with minimal injury. Horrific experience!

For someone who faints while simply giving blood, I was more than anxious about full upper teeth extraction and bone grafting. Honestly, this experience could not have been easier! Surgery was seamless and my recovery was swift. I can't believe that I felt comfortable within a week after significant bone grafting. It was so successful, I ended up with 6 implants instead of just the minimum 4. My entire journey was fully orchestrated between this office and Dr Steven Schmid at Family Dentistry and Prosthodontics in Merritt Island. From the very first consultation through my All on 4 dental implant procedure and follow ups, I was treated with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt totally comfortable the entire time - especially Samantha! This was invaluable to me since I have suffered significant facial trauma in the past! This father & son "dynamic dental duo" provided me with completely orchestrated care across both offices and throughout the process. In either office - the staff is absolutely incredible--friendly, patient, and so supportive. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel at ease, which made a life changing procedure much less stressful. The attention to detail, compassion, and teamwork really stood out. The results have exceeded my expectations. My smile looks amazing, feels natural, and has completely restored my confidence. I am truly grateful for the outstanding care I received and would highly recommend this office to anyone considering dental implants or any dental work. Thank you to both Dr's Schmid - for changing my smile and my life!

I was dealing with wisdom teeth pain for 2 months and simply thought it was a tooth pushing. Each night was a headache and hard to sleep or even eat. I registered online (great option by the way) scheduled an appointment for Thursday to get an exam/x-ray. Come to find out they needed to be pulled. They were so accommodating and Maria explained to me so well of what the options were and how things could go. They were even willing to extract them for me the same day but I wasn't prepared. I scheduled for Friday morning instead (next day). During my visit I got to meet some of the nicest people that clearly LOVE their profession. Everyone from the front to the procedure itself were excellent in making my nerves calm for this. I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Maria, Andrew, Sonia, Dr. Bhatti, and Amanda, for helping to guide me with patience and compassion for the situation I was in. You all made a nerve wrecking situation very pleasant and 3 days later I have 0 pain whatsoever (I've had 0 pain since the procedure at all which is outstanding). I looked at 4 other places before finally discovering this place and I'm glad I did. People like the staff here are the type that should train others in every profession when it comes to how to treat people with kindness and the ability to have positive impacts in their journey! It makes a difference, YOU all made my experience AMAZING! I'm sure I probably couldn't stop talking during the procedure but they made it work and were with me every step of the way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING HERE! It's the best decision you'll make for your dental health. Such a pleasure!

The hygienist was aware I had an inspire device surgery 3 weeks ago, as I let her know right before the procedure. Yet, she moved my head back in a jerk movement , so the tool would come out. The gap in my teeth's appeared immediately after the incident and dentist completely ignored the situation when examining my teeth. He told me the gap was caused by built up being removed and not the tool being stuck. The X-Ray clearly shows that is not true, so did the hygienist acknowledging the incident. When I asked for the note for the visit acknowledging what just had happened Dr. Jason was rude and refused to give me the note and told his staff to ignore me. The receptionist would not answer me and she asked me to step out of the clinic when I said I was not feeling well. I called 911 as I thought I was having a stroke from all the stress. The emergency showed up and my blood pressure was at 185/100 and I was clearly distressed they asked me if I would like to go to the hospital. Not in any moment any staff or the doctor stepped out to check on me. The police officer had to go inside and get the note acknowledging I had the appointment there. I chose to wait outside and calm down as suggested by the emergency crew. I hope my inspire device surgery didn't get affected by this careless attitude in this clinic. This is probably why they are rated only 3 stars. Rude dentist and staff!!!! Do not recommend this place, horrible customer service!!!
