Conveniently located near the bridge, with plenty of parking and excellent service, it's also a great place to meet friends for a chat in the cozy outside seating area. Bottom line: Ocean Boulevard Coffee is a nice charming coffee shop option with helpful service for those at Holden Beach if you don't want to make your way back towards Shallotte for Starbucks, etc. I personally like a stronger coffee beverage than experienced here, the cheese danish was light, flaky, and tasty. Little to no inside seating, most seating available is outside and all orders considered "to-go." The Deets: On a recent trip to Holden Beach, I saw on Yelp there was a local coffee shop on the island there and so I bookmarked it. I walked there to try them out, they are located in a shared space with a local beach rental company near where the bridge road emptied onto the beach island (the coffee part of the signage is small so keep your eyes peeled for it). They open up at 8am, which for an early-riser like me I consider a bit later for a coffee shop even if at a beach vacation area. Getting there as they opened, there was minimal wait but I can see there could be a line if you waited too much more to go there. The shop itself is small and nicely decorated in a charming beach type look. Service was good both at the order counter and pickup window...you order inside at the counter then pick up your coffee beverage outside at a side pick up window (not really any inside seating, there are picnic tables and outside eating areas). My cheese danish tasted good and was pretty light/flaky for a danish, a nice difference as it was not heavy for a breakfast treat. My hot skim latte was OK, which on coffee alone I'd go 3-3.5 stars...I personally like my coffee beverages a bit stronger but again, personal preference. Though I am leaning towards 3.5 stars here, I will go with 4 stars here on shop charm, location, and friendly service. read more

Walked a mile there and a mile back for the iced coffee and cheese danish! I walked the first day and got the butter rum iced coffee with the coffee cubes. Second time I walked got the brown sugar cinnamon with the cheese danish, the nice lady asked if I wanted it heated and drizzled with icing, so I did. It was good, but I prefer a room temp danish. Lovely little spot that hit the spot. Drank my coffee on my walk back. You order inside and then pick up outside. read more

Maybe it was a bad day for the owner, but my wife has celiac (gluten allergy) and when asking the owner about her type of coffee, she snapped and told her all coffee is gluten free. This is true.....but the how and where it's made is the difference between certified gluten free and not which is what she has to look for EVERYWHERE. If something was made with the same utensils as gluten, she will be sick for days. Again, this is only for severe cases of gluten allergies. We've always loved going there (I love the smoothies ) but most people think gluten free is a fad. It's not. She was very short and not understanding. Didn't want to take the time to understand the allergy (severe cases). I still suggest hitting them up, but be aware all you gluten sufferers, this is NOT certified gf. read more

Vegan alternatives: soy & almond milk!!! Smoothies are also vegan. They even put coffee ice cubes in your iced coffee!! On the right is a dirty chai with coffee ice cubes and almond milk and on the left is Daphne's Wave, one of their specials. The employees were super super nice! Great coffee & an even better service experience!! I visited twice in my time @ HB - got an Iced coffee with SF vanilla and COFFEE ICE CUBES (so innovative - first time offered this in my wide coffee shop experience). The cubes guarantee a good cup till the last drop. The blend of coffee they use is incredibly smooth as well. The woman I believe to be the owner is an absolute angel. Would give a 6/5 if possible. read more

DONT GO HERE NOT A WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN BUSINESS... They aren't great.... They are rude and unwelcoming... THE WOMEN WILL BELITTLE OTHER WOMEN. As a women coming off the beach we went IN OUR BATHING SUIT. And the OWNER had the rudest comment to me and my sisters... THE OWNERS DAUGHTER had to roll her eyes at us and look us up and down. If they had put up a sign on the door saying wear a cover or something we would've respected their sign and went back to get a shirt... BUT IM SORRY THIS IS HOLDEN BEACH... A BEACH... everyone wears bathing suits everywhere but not only did the owners have to belittle us women infront of a store full of people... she also slammed the door in our faces. Visited this shop on Sunday. Sadly, it wasn't great. The staff person at the register was not friendly at all. I tried to engage her with a cheery greeting but she didn't respond or even acknowledge me. I complimented the shop's interior but still nothing. Placed my order, paid & still received no verbal acknowledgement or response. And, my coffee was lukewarm. I will try the shop one more time. I hope my next visit will be better. read more

Stopped by in the morning for some coffee and breakfast pastries over the 4th of July weekend and was delighted by this spot. There was a short line that wrapped into the neighboring beach activity rental store but it moved fairly quickly. Ordered a simple black coffee that was well roasted and served hot, along with a cinnamon bun and apple turnover. Pastries were delicious and large enough to share. The staff was very pleasant amid the morning rush. There's no better way to start a relaxing day at the beach than with a good cup of jo, tasty treats and friendly faces. read more

We walked here super early one morning to beat the heat, it didn't work, but our cold drinks did! This little coffee shop is so cute and if you walk there you don't even have to walk back because you can rent bikes there for a great price! They have a great selection of drinks and some breakfast goodies. Two of us split a cinnamon roll and it was perfect. They feature works of local artists and writers and it is available for purchase. Will definitely stop back next time we are in Holden Beach for vacation. read more

Inside/next to a beach rental shop. The coffee is tasty and cheap. $1.75 16oz coffee (really strong). They also have espresso, lattes, etc. They take cc and have wifi. I'll be back. read more

Easily the best coffee shop in Holden Beach, on or off the island. Nice little place, convenient to get to, very friendly service, and their menu has everything necessary to re-caffeinate yourself. I had a double shot cappuccino that was very good (if I was being picky I'd say the espresso shots were a little watery...probably extracted a little faster than it should have...but I'm definitely not complaining!). This is our new favorite coffee shop right on OB at the bottom of the causeway. It was a great motivation for my kids to hop on our bikes and make the ride from our beach rental. I had their Mocha Frappuccino, once with Almond and another with Salted Caramel, both were outstanding and I had to hid them from my fam ;-). They also have smoothies and loyalty cards that don't expire, so can use it again on my next visit. I echo Amy's comments about coffee ice cubes, brilliant!
