This is a GREAT place to get certified in Basic CPR or Advanced CPR. (And yes, there is a…read moredifference.) I contacted Brian Pope and scheduled to take the CPR class. While most of it is done online in the comfort of your home, it was the warm welcome and easy feeling Brian gives you when you arrive for the "hands-on" portion of the training. I gotta tell you, right from the start, Brian and I hit it off great. We are both first responders, but that didn't matter. He was very approachable and easy to work with. He walked me through the course and the steps to take. I knocked it out and was on my way in less than 20 min. I would recommend this class and all of its course work to anyone looking to get involved in their community with C.E.R.T., anyone looking for a REAl merit badge with any scouts, or even to someone who wants to start their career in Fire & EMS. This could even help anyone who wants to be a life guard! Anyone from the 8th grade to someone in their 70's could take this class and it would be a huge benefit to them. They have years of experience teaching these courses as they were able to tell me what were the differences in practice between the old guidelines and the most current ones. One of the instructors was an RN so she able to give us practical tidbits and show us things to look out for in codes. Coming in I was really lacking in interpreting rhythm strips, and the instructor helped me remember easy ways to recognize the different patterns. I enjoyed the hands-on experience working the defibrillator while the instructor went through the different ACLS algorithms. Classes are small enough for you to feel like its individualized teaching and they definitely do want you to succeed so you can perform high-quality CPR in the field and/or participate in codes. Will come again when it's time to re-certify.
