Gracianna is not a huge commercial winery nor is it a massive producer. It's unforgettably quaint, intimate, and personalized. We stayed at their adorable Airbnb for a few days. The space was super clean, welcoming, and stocked with all the basics. The views are amazing. The wines were all top level, super approachable, and we loved every pour; our faves were the Zins and Pinots. The service is what really sets this experience apart... Trini was incredibly responsive. We were beyond lucky to have Lafayette as our server. He made the wine tasting feel like a chill, relaxing get-together. Not only is he knowledgeable, but also relatable and warm/inviting. We never felt rushed (actually overstayed our tasting bc time flew) and got a lot of amazing recommendations. We stopped in without a reservation for a tasting right as they were opening and were warmly greeted by Stacey who led our tasting. We tasted through the menu of 5 wines and even got some additional off menu pours, one of which we ended up bringing home with us. Stacey was full of knowledge about the wines, vines, and history of the vineyard. The tasting was made extra interesting/fun by the comparison of some of the wines in different glasses, at different aeration levels, and even one with chocolate. The tasting room had a very bright, light, and unpretentious feel to it. After going through the tasting we ended up leaving with 3 bottles of wine, one white and two reds, one of which was a pinot noir which is what they're known for. Highly recommend tasting here and would absolutely plan to come back next time I find myself in Guerneville!

I called in for a last minute appointment and met Sue underneath the canopy of the beautiful tree. She walked me through a tasting of their organic wines and shared the story of the vineyard land, dating back to the 1800s. We chit chat, we sat in silence and listened to the sounds of nature as I sipped through each of my pours... it was a pleasant start to the day. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is less tannic, which made it an appropriate purchase for me before parting for the day. They also offer a unique sauvignon/riesling blend (it may have been a Chardonnay/riesling), but interesting nonetheless, and one I would have purchased if in the market for multiple bottles.

We were staying in Healdsburg, and one day we chose to walk instead of hiring a driver. We went to mostly tasting rooms around town, but Orsi was the only full vineyard that we visited that day. It was our first stop of the day. When we arrived, just after 11 AM, it was not yet crowded. We were greet by very friendly people working there. They also had some great Halloween decorations still up at the entrance, as this was only two days after Halloween. We enjoyed our first tasted of a nice, mostly dry white called Biancolella d'Ischia. It was a lovely start to our tasting. We then wandered through the tasting room where we met other friendly staff who we spoke with about our recent wine tasting trip to Italy. We then enjoyed a Sangiovese that was paired with a delicious and hearty vegetable tortellini soup. Later, we got to try another couple of Italian wines. Orsi grows grapes from Italy on site in Healdsburg. The vineyard is beautiful. We were just starting to see some fall color the first weekend in November. There is an area in back that is just lovely and looks like it is all set up for a party. There are tables for picnicking and, at that time, there were lots of pumpkins and hay bales. We enjoyed our wine and soup outside. Had we not been there for an event with lots of other wineries to visit, I would have liked to spend much more time there. Inside the tasing room, there were lots of Italian treats and cooking ingredients. I was walking, so decided I couldn't really carry much, but otherwise, I may have gone a little crazy with my shopping. We had already visited Coppola (because you have to check it out at least once!) and decided to squeeze in one more winery on our way back to our hotel in Windsor. We chose Copain, and it ended up being the highlight of our day. First, the property is absolutely beautiful, with a view to die for while you enjoy your tasting. But what really made the experience unforgettable was our host, Evan. If you could earn a PhD in the history of wine and winemaking, Evan has it, and he had a very captivated audience in the two of us. He took us on a fascinating journey through the history of wine, not just at Copain or in the region, but around the world. My son was completely into it, and so was I. It was the kind of experience where you walk away knowing a lot more than you did when you walked in. And then, halfway through our tasting, Evan took things to another level. He brought us on a mini-tour of the facility, where we got to see the equipment and learn about the actual winemaking process. He even asked us to bring one of our tasting glasses along and treated us to a tasting straight from the barrel! It was an absolutely five-star experience from beginning to end. 5 stars for the location. 5 stars for the ambiance. 6 stars for Evan. I would highly recommend Copain Wines. An appointment is required to have a tasting between the hours of 10:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. The staff is very personable which makes your visit more like visiting a family member. Copain Wines is perfect for a small get together to a larger event such as a wedding or a business meeting. Make sure not to miss this beautiful location if you pass through Healdsburg.
