Had a family dinner here last week and were so pumped to dine at another tasty Mexican restaurant in the area. We've had mixed reviews from friends and family and we will be back and you should check it out too! Wife and I first time coming to this restaurant. We love places like this, the music wasn't super loud but you can hear it. Great services and fast! We have been to many places but the food quality is very authentic! Not knocking on other establishments but the flavor and atmosphere feel like home. The servers make you few welcome. Most definitely will comeback here to try out the other items on the menu. read more

My family and friends came here to celebrate my granddaughter Kailee's graduation from high school. As my husband and I do not live in this area, we didn't know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised, it didn't look like much from the outside. However, when we entered, the owners decorated our table with balloons to celebrate our granddaughter, and it was really nice! The food was absolutely delicious, I ordered the crunchy tacos, and they were the best I've had. Thank you Ocompos for making Kailee feel special. read more

Go for the excellent Mexican food. Best salsa and chips ever. The owners care a lot. Definitely owner-operated and I love that. Menudo on the weekends. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp and the potato tacos. My family loves their rellenos. Their kids meals are well-portioned and simple - just right for kids. read more

Chips and salsa were pretty tasty. The chili Colorado, rice, and bean plate was good. The Taco and Enchilada was okay. The all meat shredded beef burrito was good, however, the shredded beef was a bit salty. The garlic shrimp was not bad. The Michelada was good, but I prefer to have the small ice in the drink. Overall, I would give the restaurant a solid four out of five. Service was good too. I would most likely come back again. read more

You won't find a better Chili Verde number one! The shrimp tostados are delicious. Abondegas has so many vegetables and large meatballs. Sometimes we just have Siri pick a number and that's what we eat. There is nothing I don't enjoy at Ocampos! read more

If my dad didn't tell me about this place I would have never known it was here. I'm so glad he did, because it is easily my favorite place to get tacos now! The restaurant itself is small. But it is clean and decorated with that classic Mexican charm.They have a nice sized bar that you can sit at and have a big selection of alcohol. I haven't had a drink here yet, but I intend to because the margaritas that I saw looked pretty good! I am very picky when it comes to tacos and if they aren't good, I don't care how good the rest of the food is I will not come back. I've tried shredded beef and chicken tacos, and I was happy with both. The meat was not dry, and was in fact very juicy. The cheese was good quality and didn't have that fake taste that is super greasy. It was nice to know I was eating quality ingredients. The shell isn't super greasy and had just the right amount of crunch. The other food here is very good also. The Carne asada burrito is very good, the meat is very tender and flavorful. It's a no frills burrito though. Meat, beans, rice, and cheese. If that's how you like your burritos you will be happy! The Chili Relleno is another good selection here. The rice has good authentic flavor and is cooked just right. The staff here is very friendly, sweet, and always very helpful. I love coming to family run establishments. Now that I know the basics are top notch I am excited to come back and try the other specialty dishes they offer. read more

The food was good. Our waitress was nice. When she brought us our check, she chatted with us and told us about the Saturday morning carnitas special. The chips were fresh. I ordered hard shell chicken tacos that were pretty tasty with salsa. The serving of beans and rice was generous. I would have liked to be offered more chips, but I really didn't have room. Food here was not good. I ordered the TJ tacos and the asada was cold and no flavor. My husband ordered the menudo. It literally was just soup. It had three pieces of meat. He ordered a coffee. They never brought us sugar. Waited for someone to come around and they took 5 minutes to bring it. By then, the coffee was cold. The place was empty when we got there, then more people came in. They were more focused on the other people than us. It took forever to get the check, but they took our payment right away! Would not recommend this place. read more

I've been eating here for years. It's the only Mexican place in this area worth eating at, believe me I've tried them all and we always keep coming back to Ocampo's. Their two-item combos are great, rice and beans are always well made and seasoned, and I love their salsa (which always comes with a spoon in the bowl for some reason, lol). The chips are warmed too which is a nice touch, and taste delicious. The service here is great, the mom of the family is always on her feet in the dining room and serves guests quickly, so I truly don't know what these reviews with complaints about service are on about. This is a mom and pop shop, not a five-star French restaurant. She's brisk but very friendly, as are all the younger folks that have been serving here in the last couple of years too. Take it from me, this is the only Mexican place worth your time in this area. The food and service have kept me and my family coming back for years. read more

The customer service is awful. Today was worse than usual and' I won't be returning. From the moment I called to place my order it seemed like I was bothering them with my business. The women and guy that were working were both equally rude and uninterested in being hospitable. Thankfully I checked the order before I left and they forgot something I asked for and were in NO hurry to get it for me - in fact when I told him he said "I'll get it for you" and instead walked to a table Up take an order- so I went and asked the woman, who was bothered, she told me she would get it, then a few minutes later comes out and asked me what I asked her for‍ Too many other options to come back. read more

Good food. Been coming here 20 plus years. Foods never a complaint. Service is. Once my food was dropped off, I never saw another server again. For 3.50 for an iced tea I might have wanted a refill. This place is an absolute joke. Twice now we have tried giving this place a try and no more. First time going it was so hot and muggy inside, the waitress was absolutely rude and short with talking. We ordered 1 drink that came with a extra shot, we wanted to order another simple drink and the waitress told us "no, I don't think so" and I asked if she was seriously and she said ya and walked away. Second time we just ordered to go, another waitress misunderstood what we ordered and messed up the food order. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole on the side and it came in 4oz each with chips for an extra $14. And when the food was picked up. The waitress that was with us the first time we went there handed the food with no eye contact and continued to say "here" before it was grabbed and let it drop on the counter. This place is a hidden gem. The food was delicious and the Cadillac Margie's were really great. Our bartender was Ricardo and if he makes your drink you are guaranteed to like it. Service was fantastic and food really great too. My kids just moved near there and we will back often!! read more

Ordered flautas platter. It was good, but this review won't get a 5 star for how I and my party were treated in the restaurant. Unfortunately, this restaurant has become the White Supremacist capital of the IE. People were just glaring at us like we were animals at a MEXICAN restaurant. I guess it's ok if POC serve your food but not ok if they sit next to you? Order to go and stay out of the dining room if you're a POC. Go on YouTube and watch that scene "Whites Only Pies." DON'T COME HERE!!!!!! I have been here a few times with my mom. It used to be one of her favorite places to eat. We went for my birthday last weekend because my husband wanted to try it. We were meeting my mom and niece there. There was only one table of 6 in the whole place. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before I finally asked the rude ass owner Maria for some sodas. She dumped them off and walked away. A few minutes later I flagged her back down and asked if we could have some chips. She mumbled under her breath "I will have to charge you." My husband told her that it was fine. She brought back a "basket" of chips that was about the size of a deck of cards, and the salsa dish half full!! Seriously? How much do corn tortillas cost? I felt as though it was total colorism (discrimination). Once my mom and niece arrived, we ordered. We had five dinner plates and four sodas totalling up to a whopping $140. This included our $16 "basket" of chips. It's such a shame that they are willing to lose good paying, good tipping customers over rudeness and stinginess!! First time here for a friends birthday. Our first impression was that it was tiny from the outside. The staff was extremely nice and tended to our table professionally. I had the all meat burrito with chili verde. I will say it was good food, but it was somewhat salty. I am not sure if they might have added to much during the cooking or if it was normal but the chili verse could have done with a little less salt. The chips and salsa were good. I'm very picky when it comes to salsas but this one was delicious. The ambiance was extremely loud and I don't mean the music. For the small space combined with the amount t of people it becomes very difficult to hear people talk quickly. Even more so when there is extremely loud and rowdy guests. It got to a point where I had a headache by the time we left just because of how noisy it was. read more

I'm embarrassed to say that in all the years I've lived in the area, I have never given this place a second thought. Big mistake. Very traditional food and flavors in everything I tried. It's obvious that there are no canned foods in this kitchen. I tried huaraches nopalitos and chili rellenos burrito. For the burrito, the first flavor is that home made rice with the chili, so good. Nopalitos, cactus, cooked with their spices atop a fresh tortilla with pico, lettuce and cheese. Very good. Others have noted slow service, and while the restaurant was about halve full, we didn't feel it was too long on this day. We will be going back to try other options and would recommend the same to all of you. read more

When I called the restaurant, the same woman said she didn't see anything on her end showing the additions, so she didn't include them -- even though she had already told me she would. For a $55 order, not including the extra salsa that was discussed is frustrating, especially when this has been an ongoing issue with missing items in previous orders. On top of that, we ordered four separate dinners and everything was combined into just two containers. The lack of attention to the order and the dismissive response when I called back were disappointing. Unfortunately, after multiple experiences like this, I won't be ordering from here again.

The margaritas are some of the best around and I love when they use aqua fresca as the base for them, making them so fresh! The restaurant was starting to get busy and everyone was in a good mood. There's always a good vibe especially by the bar and our server was really nice too. I ordered the fish and shrimp tostada this time around and they aren't stingy with the ceviche or the avocado. It was very good and satisfying. My hubby ordered the mojarra frita which is the exact same thing he ordered last time because that's what brought us here in the first place! He was craving a nice sized fried fish and he really liked the one here. Looks like they have a nice brunch on Sundays too, so we'll have to try that out one weekend soon!

Chose Del Mar Grill & Cantina since Seafood is posted on their ad and rated with 4.3 Stars. This is our 1st visit and last to dine with the DEAD (Día de los Muertos Celebration). We ordered the Fish Tacos, the fish had no taste and in my opinion the fish was frozen and was fried to Long. So much for Seafood.

Update: Came back about two months ago and didn't even feel…read morelike the same place. They've expanded a lot--full bar now, way more tables, and the whole atmosphere is completely different. In a good way. What surprised me most is that the food is still great. Usually when a spot gets bigger, something suffers. That didn't happen here. Overall, it's just a much better experience than it used to be. If you haven't been back in a while, it's worth another visit.

The breakfast burrito was more as well. So she refunded me the difference. But still charged me extra for the onion even though they messed up my order and I had to drive back to get it fixed.
