We found this little ice cream shop by accident. The first things I noticed were the signs pointing out all kinds of rules. "Don't put chairs near glass. Don't lean on the glass." "No photos or video."There were more. If you broke the rule? No ice cream for you? The employee serving up treats was very nice. The interior was not so nice. It is crammed with all kinds of confection machinery. It looks like this mom and pop could sure use more space. The frozen fun tasted great, albeit a tad expensive. read more

Hello, We visited this shop last night and it was the best time of our evening. The owner was super nice and friendly she also shared some Ocala history with us. They also have Grape nut ice cream if you like a little crunch with your ice cream you most try it. Location was Cousy and nicely kept. Place got pretty busy while we there and the ambiance was good to bad it was raining would have been nice to sit outside for a while. Definitely recommend and making this a to go spot. read more

The best smorgastic Raspberry Truffle ice cream found here! Place is small and family owned, compliments the small town charm. Such polite service too. Dropped in 5mins past closing time. He was busy preparing candies/fudge for the next day. Yet he had the brightest smile only an ice-cream parlour person could conjure. Gosh what not to say. Owner very friendly and knowledgeable about the community. I'm very new to ocala and it was nice to meet and speak with someone with Jamaican background. Beautiful to look at, horrible to eat. The ice cream itself was solid I guess, but definitely more cheesecake than dulce de leche and some sour lemon taste? A cute mom and pop shop selling ice-cream and chocolates in downtown Ocala. It's a great place to go if you want something sweet to top off your night. The couple before us ordered ice-cream but we were more in a chocolate mood. They have a pretty extensive variety of chocolates in their case. We tried the following: mocha, raspberry, dark chocolate, and mint truffles. The mocha was our clear favorite. The other ones were good too, the dark chocolate was just a little plain compared to the other flavored truffles. We thought we would like the mint one more as the husband is a huge chocolate mint fan, but the mint flavor was a little too strong, reminded us of toothpaste. The husband got some toffee brittle too and liked it. Will be back to try out some more of their truffles! read more

The cute location and little seating area outside really lure you in for some decadent dessert. Once inside the beautiful chocolate creations really catch your eye. They have chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows, ice cream, you name it! I am basic so I ordered the dark chocolate covered pretzel and two dark chocolate bits. Pretty boring choice considering all the cute Instagram worthy artistic creations with chocolate as a medium. I digress. My boyfriend just asked for a plain black coffee. Boy we were disappointed. The coffee was INSTANT coffee, which honestly I am not pretentious so I said well let's just try it and not say anything since we didn't want to be rude to the lovely cashier (she was super sweet). Anyway, we walk outside and try the coffee and it was the worst coffee I have had in my entire life. It didn't even taste like coffee it was more like a organic compost mélange with Ocala tap water. We just tossed it out and went home. The chocolate was good, definitely would give this place a second chance since I will just pretend that the coffee machine was out of service at the time we walked in. I really don't like to be mean to local businesses but man my yelp credibility is important to me as well so I had to be 100% honest in my review. read more

For the past 5 years, we have been visiting this small town gem for it's one-of-a-kind chocolate confections. My children cannot go downtown without frequenting this place! The owners are absolutely down to earth and live to serve you the best of their creations. Who would've thought that Ocala has a renowned chocolatier at its doorstep?! This is no M&Ms chocolate, folks. This is the REAL DEAL! Norm will often time be seen at the wee hours of the night preparing his confections to be ready for patrons the next day. Everytime we go in the employees are always super nice!! They have 18 different flavors of ice cream and PLENTY of other candy and fudge to choose from. The place is super small with only 1 bench to sit on BUT they do have a couple tables outside on the sidewalk. We always take our ice cream with us and walk around downtown, because all the sidewalks have been redone so it looks really nice and clean now. Also a few of the new shops are nice to go in and window shop. read more

This place is also known as Ocala's Chocolate and Confections (http://www.ocalaschocolate.com/). I enjoy this place. It opened about two years ago and I am happy and impressed that they have made it in such a rough economy as Ocala's post-crash. This place is a cosy chocolate and ice-cream place and they stay open late; 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. It's a great option if you are on a date and you need to find an excuse to take the girl somewhere else. Or if you need to satisfy your weekly chocolate craving. Or to divvy up the time between happy hour bar hopping! I am not a fine chocolate connisseur, but I can tell you that Hershey's is inedible and that I cannot understand how Godiva got as big as they did for such poor quality chocolate. And Ocala's Chocolate is far better. They have excellent dark chocolate which I can speak at length about. I recommend their specialty truffle, which is made from Kirschwassar liquor imported from Germany. I can also speak highly of their dark chocolate raspberry truffle and the dark chocolate butternut toffee; all are creamy and handmade with love. Three kirshwassrer, a raspberry truffle and a dark chocolate toffee (about palm-sized) was $8 and change. Well worth it. This place also serves ice cream (weird flavors like Blue Moon), but I have never tried it. I am pretty sure they purchase it from someone else, but it's nice to indulge in their outdoor seating area on a hot day, too. With the holidays coming up (it's August, I know!), Ocala's Chocolate also has these gigantic cornucopias and turkeys made out of chocolate that can be filled with truffles and made into centerpieces. I love this idea, although I have a feeling that would be quite expensive. And let me rave about the service. I actually first visited this place about two years ago, and the owner introduced himself to me and even gave me a truffle to sample for absolutely free. I have been back and if you strike up the conversation, he will leave you with no lack of stories and anecdotes. The service is always speedy and polite, helpful but not overbearing. I truly enjoy patronizing small-town Ocala business, but it's even better when it surpasses whatever chain competition you can find nearby. I hope this place makes it in the near future and I will be back next time I am in town. read more

I love to pop in for a treat after having lunch downtown. They have ice cream, fudge, and all kinds of chocolate, of course. They have your typical turtles and truffles (which are really good btw) but they also have fun stuff like chocolate dipped potato chip clusters and turtle dipped rice crispy treats. They make all sorts of cool seasonal chocolate pieces and you can order custome treats as well as gift baskets. Way over priced it is filthy/stinks inside and the truffles I got tasted old and stale . This has to be the worse chocolate place I have ever been to! Save your money you can get better and more truffles at Walmart or even your local dollar tree. If I pay a $1.5 per truffle it better be at least tasty and this was the biggest scam of all?
