Priscilla is good with laser! Helped the pain from my knee replacement for a very short period…read more Paid for weeks and months after surgery for this laser to help alleviate the pain but, long term didn't work. At $75 per week (out of pocket) for 6 months for Duke's negligence, it was a waste of money. Duke refused to help me after surgery. Also, Dr Duke and the staff are always rushing you and very short making you feel like you don't deserve to ask questions. My knee replacement has to be re-done because Dr Duke put in a replacement larger than my knee so, I have an over-hang. After four years of continuous pain after surgery which Duke "sloughed off as my nerve pain", I have to have it replaced again to correct the overhang! The over-hang had to be diagnosed elsewhere because Duke refused to acknowledge his poor surgical replacement. I went to two specialists to confirm the over-hang. I would definitely not recommend his practice or him! Four + years of pain that was and worse after the knee replacement than before because Duke did not fit my knee properly. Think: it could happen to you too!

While Dr. Duke has a great reputation as an orthopedic surgeon, when it was my time for a knee…read morereplacement, I endured a hellish ordeal. I suffered from severe complications related to the surgery as a result of the complete neglect to my aftercare by Dr. Duke and his staff. I am a healthy 78 year old who is on zero medication. I was sent home from the surgery with orders to take a slew of medication which was the normal protocol. However, since I was not accustomed to medications I was super sensitive to the combination and quantity and was not treated as an individual, but rather as another knee surgery. I ended up with a bleeding stomach ulcer necessitating a blood transfusion and such severe constipation that two days later I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. I was in severe pain, but no longer able to take pain medication for the duration of my rehab. Dr. Duke never called or came to see me throughout the four days I was in the hospital. I spoke to the nurses, therapists and left messages for him at his office but he did not respond. After I came home from the hospital, I religiously followed his instructions regarding icing and Physical Therapy. My knee seemed to be actually getting redder and worsening as was the extensive pain. But when I reached out to Dr. Duke's staff to report the worsening symptoms, I was told it was a normal part of healing, and that I was only feeling more pain because I was off medication. I was advised to continue the protocol. Not one staff member that Dr. Duke delegated to my care was capable of diagnosing what turned out to be a severe ICE burn. Despite my frequent calls to get an appointment with him personally I was just told that the assistants were always in touch with him and that it wasn't necessary for me to see him. After several months, the wound was getting bigger and more painful and began oozing. Finally, I took a photo and sent it to the office. At that point he still relayed through his assistants a message to stop icing and begin antibiotics. But I couldn't get an appointment to actually see him. When I went to my primary care doctor, he then referred me to an infectious disease/wound care doctor. My wound had advanced to such a dangerous state that I then needed to receive aggressive therapy with IV antibiotics for two weeks. Dr. Duke again showed no interest in my follow up care. He never took responsibility, nor expressed interest for the after effects of the surgical procedure. When I looked at his reviews I found several other patients experienced similar consequences of his 'I'm the greatest surgeon on the planet' attitude. Admittedly, Dr. Duke did a competent job in the actual surgery. But he clearly thinks his job is done the moment he puts down the scalpel. If you have an issue that is not within the average protocol you better find someone else. Dr/ Duke has a great wall of assistants and office staff to spare him from the rigors of attending to his patients for any complications or aftercare. Their rigid protective protocol was negligent when it was most needed. Buyer Beware!

I have been here twice for annual gynecological visits. I had a third scheduled but I wound up…read morecancelling it and if you read on, you might understand. I had the same provider for both annual exams, Natesha Vaillancourt. My first visit was okay. I mean when is a pap pleasant? I was informed that since I was over 40 years old, they needed to check for something in the stool. Uh okay? Maybe this is normal procedure but how come no one tells you this crap? No pun intended! Vaillancourt was pleasant but I felt kind of dismissed at times during our conversation. Typical of being a woman when dealing with healthcare. My second annual pap involved the same procedure. This visit has stuck with me throughout the year. I do not exaggerate and I do understand how sometimes there is provider/ patient misinterpretations but I was legit pissed after a piece of our conversation. She said I do not need to come for a pap every year, especially since I have not had an abnormal pap/HPV present/ biopsy in 6+ years. I reminded her I have type 1 diabetes, which means I am required to see all my specialists at least once a year as precautionary. She said "diabetes has nothing to do with that" and also said my insurance probably will not cover it either. WTF? As far as I knew, as long as a female has insurance, annual wellness exams were covered and preventative care. But wait, there's more! After I scheduled with another office this year and missed the appointment because they misinformed me of the appointment time, I went back to this place. I attempted to make the appointment a week earlier by coming in person to speak to them due to calling three times and no answer. I was told "oh we would have had to cancel that appointment anyway and she is not here for the next four days." Uh when were you going to let me know? Especially since this was within a week and they did nit gave any openings until May? Last kick in the ass was my appointment card that was given to me the previous year said 4pm but when I attempted initially to sign into the portal to do any of this, the appointment said 12pm. When I asked, I was told "yeah they changed it but they would have called you" and of course I never received any call. So lesson learned. I will now travel to Gainesville or further to receive proper healthcare because Ocala is beyond horrible.
