    Courtney picking up our placenta
    Juan C.

OC Placenta Encapsulation and Courtney are absolutely amazing! She was highly responsive through IG, text messages, phone calls, etc. She didn't require a deposit or retainer fee to be available, which was a bit worrisome. Prior to delivery she asked to keep the placenta in ice and to place it in a styrofoam cooler. We notified her that we were going to be induced such date and she said to text her when placenta was delivered. Our doula text her at 10:02 pm that placenta was delivered. Courtney arrived at 10:28pm to pick up our placenta! The hospital wanted the placenta to be picked up within 2 hours. Talk about responsiveness!! She had our placenta encapsulated the next day and delivered it to us at the hospital at 3pm! We obtained a picture of our placenta, dried cord, capsules, and we are waiting for our tincture which takes 6 weeks. Overall, we have had a wonderful experience with OC Placenta Encapsulation. Thank you, Courtney!

I asked Courtney to snap a pic of my placenta before she encapsulated it. Look at that vibrant purple!

Courtney encapsulated my placenta in 2016 and again in 2019. With all the preparation that comes with pregnancy and birth having my placenta encapsulated and a tincture was a must for me. Though the overwhelming list of to do's and having BOTH my boys came weeks earlier than I expected meant I never lined up a professional to have this done. After both births, my midwife texted Courtney for me and Courtney saved the day (both times!!!). She texted with me to arrange pick up, drop off, and was available for questions. Made it completely seamless and easy for me. Should I find myself pregnant again, I'd 100% use Courtney. I'd like to say that I'd be better prepared the THIRD time, but likely not knowing Courtney will swoop in and save the day without skipping a beat!

She had such a calm and steady presence, that I myself felt calm and steady delivering my first baby into the world. When I became pregnant with baby #2, I learned that Sarah had started her own midwifery practice and I knew I HAD to have her!!! Sarah is the most knowledgeable, kind, caring, gentle, loving, patient, sweet, intelligent and empowering midwife out there - she is fantastic to work with, spends quality time with you and your family to fully get to know you and deliver customized care, which is worlds beyond what many women receive through pregnancy and postpartum. She always made me feel so seen, safe and confident, always answering my questions with extensive knowledge & wisdom, and empowered me as a mother and as a woman. Her faith-based approach made me feel uplifted and secure, bringing forth a sense of tranquility that is not often experienced through pregnancy and labor/delivery in today's world. She is truly gifted in the work that she does. Her home visit appointments made it so easy on me and my family, and she always included my first born in what we were doing, allowing her to rub aloe vera on my belly and use the Doppler to listen to her sister's heartbeat, as well as check my BP. My daughter absolutely adored her, which meant everything to me through such a transitional period of being pregnant with our second baby. She has so many wonderful personalized touches to what she provides as well, such as adorable custom umbilical cord ties, beeswax candles, magnesium salts, a packed labor & postpartum bag with everything that you need during and after labor, herbs to use in your peri-bottle, herbal padsicles, and even a postpartum massage therapist! She just provides fantastic and thoughtful touches to her care of you during and after pregnancy - truly amazing. After baby #2 was born, she was so supportive and attentive to me to the point where I didn't have to worry about a thing. She went above and beyond to handle some extra stressors I had and made my time of recovery so much easier so I could focus all of my energy on our newest baby. She would always check in on me and make sure we were doing well - she truly made us feel so loved. Sarah is family, and I cannot say enough about how absolutely wonderful she is. If you are considering a home birth, Sarah is 10000% your midwife! If we have a 3rd baby, I absolutely know who I will be calling! We love you so much Sarah!!!

She was our doula for our first pregnancy 6-years ago and she was absolutely fantastic! Genuine, kind, compassionate, supportive and truly cared for the well-being of my wife! We knew she'd make a wonderful midwife someday and she absolutely was! During our third pregnancy, hiring Sarah as our midwife was like having a family member and spiritual warrior care for you. Her knowledge, skills and insights are invaluable. She even reviewed our health insurance to see if we qualified for a free breast pump and recommended a great site to shop from (a site that my health insurance did not disclose to us and only gave us two breast pump options). Sarah made my wife feel comfortable, educated and well-informed during the pregnancy and it was obvious to us that Sarah's heart was with her patients. She loves what she does and it shines brightly through the incredibly warm and nurturing care she provides. The postpartum care my wife and newborn received was top-tier! Sarah has a calming presence about her and it put our family at ease knowing someone with her level of expertise was there. Her gentle, sweet and authentic personality was something my two little boys gravitated towards too. They followed her around like little chickens and asked her tons of questions (which she kindly answered all of them!). Not sure how she was able to do what she did with all these Curious Georges hanging around her but she did it with professionalism and class. We're beyond grateful and feel so blessed to have found Sarah! The experience we had from start to finish was magnificent and we cannot thank Sarah enough! This was truly a blessing from the Lord! THANK YOU AGAIN, SARAH!!! TL;DR - We HIGHLY RECOMMEND MAMA BABY!!!

I found Labor of Love by doing some of my own research online. And thank God I did! My doula,…read moreKaren, was my rock throughout my labor and was 100,000 percent amazing--I'll definitely be working with her for my second! A little backstory: I was overwhelmed and so nervous about finding "the one" person to be a part of the most important event of my life. After doing my research and reading through all these bios, I honestly was left feeling overwhelmed, especially knowing how indecisive I can be. I knew I just had to trust my intuition and my gut on this one! After looking at Karen's bio on their website, I had such a good feeling. Staci (the owner), who was super friendly and professional, helped me get connected with Karen, and I booked an interview right away! Karen was so sweet and asked me about my pregnancy experience so far. We discussed how I wanted my birth to go and any concerns I had. There wasn't any pressure to hire her, and it just felt like she was already invested in me, like I was already family. I even had her video chat with my husband to make sure we both felt comfortable and vibed well together--and we sure did! Overall, Karen ended up being the perfect balance of knowledge, experience, and professionalism. It was the most perfect amount of care I could have asked for. She was also such an advocate for my birth plan to work out. Before, during, and after my labor and birth, she was always naturally in tune with what I needed. She was never overbearing, worked so well with my husband, and gave him space to be a part of my support team as well. I am so grateful to have come across Labor of Love

My experience with Labor of Love was almost two years ago now but continues to upset me when thinking back on my experience. We hired Lauren as our doula, who made it clear she expected us to go far past my due date as a first time mom. While it's possible for that to happen, it didn't in my case. At 39 weeks and at 5am while in active labor and getting ready to head to the hospital, she let us know she had Covid. Her backup was Karen, who I wish we hired to begin with as she is far more caring and professional. Though unfortunately our experience still fell short and we ultimately delivered without Karen present. We were left feeling like we invested a lot of emotion and money into this process with ultimately no help. Staci has been incredibly rude to us since then and even revoked our access to watch her training videos, sending me a link to pay her once again when wanting to rewatch for our now second baby on the way. Karen herself even recommended we ask for a partial refund due to our experience, but Staci lacks the professionalism and courtesy to her clients. Truly mindblowing that she revoked access to the training videos after we had already paid for them. I would stay far away and recommend a more experienced and caring doula group.

Even though this was my third pregnancy, I learned so much about how to care for myself and my baby. I loved that she wasn't pushy, but gave us the facts and let us make our own decisions. She also was so calm and professional throughout my labor and delivery. My husband noted how much he appreciated her composure during the most intense moments of my labor. She's the kind of person you'd want by your side when you're not in the right frame of mind. She also collaborated very well with her assistant, respecting her skills and experience during my postpartum assessment. I interviewed so many great midwives, but as soon as I met Ana, I knew she was the right fit. She took me on late in my pregnancy (27ish weeks), and onboarding with her was so easy. The care that I received from her was supportive, kind, compassionate and steady. I appreciate how calm and nurturing she is while staying firm in her knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and of a woman's body overall. Her care is holistic and evidence-based, and she makes her clients actual partners in their care. We never did anything that I was uncomfortable with (which is almost unheard of in a hospital birth). When I started to go overdue, she was there to reassure me, and because she genuinely trusts the process of birth, she helped me trust my body as well. I had an absolutely amazing birth experience that my husband and I wouldn't trade for anything. My baby is two now (sorry this is so late!), but I still think of Ana often and so fondly. She became part of our family for the time she was with us and I will always love her for helping me have the birth experience of my dreams (even at 43 years old). Thank you Ana!

I interviewed a few and felt an immediate sense of calm upon talking to Codi. She's kind, calm, confident, and client centered. I had the presumption that getting a doula meant they would try to persuade you to have an unmedicated home birth, but that was far from true with Codi. She truly listened to my wants and needs and didn't try to sway me one way or another. She provided evidence based information and educated both my husband and I prior to me going into labor. I ended up needing an induction due to preeclampsia and I was scared. Codi helped ease both me and my husbands anxieties and helped me feel powerful throughout the 26 hour labor. One of the nurses during this time was awful and demeaning. Codi spoke to the charge nurse and asked for a switch for me. I did not need that energy in the room during labor!
