I went to OC Massage recently. The front desk lady was warm and welcoming. I filled out a quick form then waited to be called back. The decor was nice and serene but the waiting area was cold temperature wise, tight and cramped. I had never been to a massage parlor with waiting area (and desk) two-three steps from the entrance. As mentioned, this was a little while ago so everyone had on masks but it was still uncomfortable being in such a tight area with others. I got there about 15 minutes early. But my masseuse, a stocky brunette with long hair, took me to the back about 5-10 minutes after my appointment time. She was pleasant. I mentioned to her that the waiting area and room was cold. She offered to turn on the heating pad on the table and that helped tremendously. She came back in a timely manner and my massage started. The pressure was good. My complaint about the massage though was that it was too short. I booked a 90 minute massage. Considering the time that I sat waiting after my appointment time and when she finished, my massage was closer to a 60 minute than a 90 minute. As I was coming to the front from the massage room my masseuse ended the business from outside. I gave her a tip more out of kindness and sympathy for service workers still able to work during the pandemic. I was disappointed that my massage was so short though. After she shook my hand to get the tip, she disappeared back outside as quickly as she came in. That was strange to me but apparently not to the front desk lady-she didn't seem fazed. Overall, my experience was ok. It wasn't overly good or overly bad. I doubt I'll go back here. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to head here for a couples massage while on vacation in OC. I called one morning the week before and asked if they had any openings on the days we'd be in town. They called back several hours, later that day - they apologized and said they had been in sessions- and gave me a few options for the appointment. We booked it on a Sunday afternoon. We decided on a 60-min massage ($180 total, so $90 each, and then we each did an add-on- I did the "head in the clouds" and he did the foot massage (additional $30 pp for the 15-minute add-ons). The place is located in a shopping center just off the Coastal Highway- there was a large parking lot and parking was easy. We arrived early to do the short paperwork (just one page, front and back). The waiting area and whole place was well-designed, cute (ocean-themed), and peaceful. The receptionist was friendly as well. Our two masseuses took the time to read our paperwork, and we started on time. They then took us in the couples room (a decent size, with beds side-by-side), sat us down in a table/chairs in the corner, and talked to us a bit about what the massage would look like and checked in with us about what we had filled in on the forms (injuries, preferred pressure, experience with massages, etc.). They then left the room to let us change and we got settled in for the massage. At various points, they explained to us what they were doing, which was nice. I had asked for firm pressure, and the masseuse did a pretty good job with the pressure (and checked in once or twice), and also made sure to hit all of the areas I had said that were bothering me. Sometimes the massage felt a bit rushed, but I think it might be because I had several areas that were bothering me and I am used to 90-minute massages, so I can't blame them for that! My boyfriend loved his foot massage. I liked the head in the clouds add-on- I appreciated the hot towels, as well as the hot and cold stones. They did mention the optional sinus-opening aromatherapy on their website for this add-on, but they didn't mention it in person and didn't use it- I think it would have been really useful and made the service 100% for me. My boyfriend, who requested medium-level pressure, found the massage very relaxing- he definitely fell asleep during it! When we wrapped up, check-out was easy and again, everybody was very lovely. I was a little sore the next day or two, but not in a bad way, and I feel like they definitely made some progress on my areas that were bothering me. Overall, this place was a fun and great experience, and I could see us doing a couples massage here again next year. Everybody was friendly, professional, it ran on time, and the place is pretty cute. They accommodated our different desires (my boyfriend with lighter pressure doing a massage mostly to relax, me with more pressure with a desire to work on problem areas), and our different add-on packages pretty smoothly. I've been wanting to try O.C. Massage since last summer and I never had the chance, but now that I have, it's safe to say it's now one of my favorite places on the island. I've had several massages and they've all ranged from sucky to out of this world. This was an out-of-this-world experience. Scheduling our appointment was easy and they called us a few times to confirm. We had no choice but to schedule it on the last day of our stay, just before we were about to drive out. It was cutting it close, but we figured it would be a good end to our memorable vacation and we were right. The couples massage we had was pricey ($180 for one hour) but we had high hopes. Arrive a few minutes early if you're a new client because we had to fill out a bit of paperwork (about problem areas, preferred pressure, etc.). The massage therapists we had were Kelly and Amanda. They did an amazing job explaining everything and giving us clear instructions. I was so impressed by their professionalism. Many massage therapists I've had in the past have not even asked me if the pressure is good or if I'm feeling okay. They asked several times and made me feel comfortable. The room we were in was incredible. It was like being on the beach because they had this cool speaker system placing surround sound beach waves and seagull noises. It was so relaxing. The massage itself was perfect. The firm pressure was truly firm. Kelly focused exactly on my problem areas, found knots I didn't even know were there, and helped to work them out. She very clearly knew what she was doing. The hot towels under my neck and around my feet were just perfect as well. I left feeling like a brand new person. I highly recommend this massage spa to all who venture out to O.C. And I will definitely be back very soon. read more

My mom and I are always getting massages and trying to find our "go to" place when in a new area. I called to book a last minute appointment over the weekend while visiting my mom who is a local. Last summer we had a few experiences with another spa in the area and were not thrilled with our experiences. Since my moved she still hadn't found anyone we were too happy with. (Lots of Chatty Cathy massage therapist so far. Sorry but with 2 toddlers 60 minutes of silence is a massage in itself for my brain.) First off, whoever answered the phone was so delightful. I felt like I was talking to a family friend. She was able to set me up on the waitlist for the weekend and luckily it worked out. She was also nice enough to tell me about their summer schedule and busy times so I was able o set up future appointments for this summer before everything starts to book up. Second, REQUEST MICHELLE. Michelle if you're reading this, you're my girl! I've had so many massages. I have 3 herniated discs and I always tell people I like firm/medium pressure. However I like whatever pressure you need to give me to work out the knots in my neck. As long as I leave feeling like I can have the range of motion back in my neck I am happy. (Even if I am a little sore the next day) Michelle was the first person who has ever listened and did her thing. It was the perfect mix of gentle and relaxing and feeling like I was actually getting what my body needed. Even down to her simple touches and checking the bed temp for me. This year, I scheduled with her again with the expectation that there was no way I could have a better massage in 2020 than I did in 2019. Boy was I wrong!! It was even better. Booked a couples massage for my husband's birthday, and it was wonderful. Sharon and Karen were very attentive and did a great job on both of us. They ever texted me before the massage to let me know the roads were still icy from the storm the previous day and that we should be careful getting there. We did 90 minute massage with a 15 minute hot stone foot massage at the end, and it was great! During the massage, my feet were cold, so my therapist even added more blankets to the feet part for me. For both me and my husband, they checked to make sure the pressure was good enough, and they definitely read what I wrote on the intake form. Some places will ignore what you write on there completely. I also love the decor! It was so cute and beachy. It's definitely a wonderful treat! I recommend them for your massage needs. read more

You absolutely must treat yourself to a full massage, foot massage, or a Reiki session with Karen at O.C. Massage while on vacation in Ocean City, Md.. I booked a 15 Minute foot massage with Karen and she is q great therapist . Even though it was only 15 minutes, the work she did made me feel like she worked on them for 1/2 an hour. She was so nurturing for just that 15 minutes that I immediately booked a session the next day for a Reiki session and that session was so relaxing that if I could, I would have been there the next day as well. I am already planning on starting next years vacation by booking my massage and Reiki sessions with her. She was great working with me, because I have sensitivities to fragrance/chemicals, so she put me in a room that was less fragrant and was also very kind to use my own homemade natural massage lotion that I brought along for her to use.
