    Just scheduled my light set up for the 2024 season. I have worked with them in the past and loved my experience. I received a text this year to schedule soon because as the holidays are quickly approaching and they would be booked and busy. I'm getting mine set up first week of Novemeber and i can't wait. I received so many compliments from everyone visiting my house. I feel like im at the age where I don't have the time or the energy to set everything up myself. Sometimes it's just worth it to have professionals do it. Not to mention the set up so was quick, easy, and seamless. The founder and the staff was friendly im excited to see how we will decorate this year as i want even more lights to cover the trees as well.

    I contacted OC Lights to set up Halloween lights at my home, but my experience with them quickly raised red flags. When I was asked to send a deposit via Venmo or Zelle to a personal account with a name that didn't match what I was told, I felt uncomfortable. Additionally, there was no formal invoice or contract provided, and all communication was handled solely through text messages--none of which felt like standard business practices. When I voiced my concerns and decided not to proceed, I was met with defensive and accusatory messages from the owner. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, I was blamed for not specifying my payment preference and treated as if my concerns were invalid. After asking them not to contact me further, I continued receiving inappropriate, harassing messages, which is beyond unacceptable. I would strongly advise against doing business with OC Light Bright. Their unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and inappropriate handling of customer concerns are deeply concerning. Proceed with caution if you consider using their services. UPDATE: 9.16.2024 Dear Israel, I want to address your recent public response with facts to clear up any confusion. 1. Payment Method: While Venmo is used for peer-to-peer payments, my concern was that using a personal Zelle account instead of a business payment method raises questions about security and professionalism. It is standard practice in most businesses to offer more formal payment options like credit cards, especially when no formal business account is being used for peer-to-peer services like Venmo or Zelle. 2. Hostility: At no point was I hostile. As a customer, I raised legitimate concerns about the lack of formal invoicing, contracts, and the handling of payments, which are standard practices in any professional business transaction. Raising these concerns is not "hostile," but rather a normal part of ensuring that the services being contracted meet professional expectations. 3. Late-Night Communication: You mentioned I sent messages late at night, yet you also communicated with me near 10 PM. If late communication was an issue, it should not have been initiated by either party. My concerns were raised in a timely manner, and continuing the conversation does not constitute harassment, as it was within the context of our ongoing discussion. 4. Harassment Claims: After I decided not to proceed, I requested that you cease contact. Your continued messages after I made this clear made me feel harassed, which I have every right to express. Harassment is about how a customer feels when communication continues after requests for it to stop, and that is how I felt. 5. Documentation: While you referenced a link for booking, there was no formal invoice or contract outlining the scope of work, payment terms, or conditions, which is why I raised concerns. A screenshot of a booking link does not equate to formal documentation for services, and it is my right to expect more transparent communication from a business. 6. Waiving the Deposit: By the time you offered to waive the deposit, my discomfort with how the situation had been handled led me to decide not to proceed. I also have the right to change my mind if I feel the service is not being conducted in a way that aligns with my expectations for professionalism. Finally, I will be posting all communication between us so that the public can review the facts themselves and make their own conclusions. I stand by my review as an honest reflection of my experience, and I will not remove it.     I own a few homes throughout LA county , I've worked with several lighting company's for the past 15 years . From my personal experience with OC light bright and Izzy I can honestly say they have been by far the best company I've ever done business with. They are young , motivated , professional and caring guys from Izzy down to his team , they are all solid individuals. They've installed Christmas decor and permanent lighting at all my houses and apartments complex and it's always been outstanding work with a quick turnaround time. The customer service and communication from them has been amazing! Most of my neighbors have contracted them for work due to how amazing my properties have turned out. I highly recommend O.C light bright. They're the best in California

    Where have these guys been my whole life? We love Christmas lights but hate untangling them and installing them. I'm almost 50 so climbing that ladder hanging hundreds of lights is sounding less and less fun. I met with Israel today, he stopped by the house and gave us some great ideas and an estimate. We hired them to design, provide and install Christmas lights with timers. After the holidays they will come and remove everything. Such a great service, can't wait to have our lights up. I never knew so much thought and expertise could go into hanging up Christmas lights. Do you guys take into account the number of bulbs, the watts per bulb and design a system that won't pop your circuit breakers all the time. Really next level clever stuff.

    OC Light Bright did a great job with my holiday lights! They are efficient and hang the lights very aesthetically pleasing. I'm very happy with the customer service and professionalism.

Every year he would spend a whole day putting them up, only for me to inevitably ask him to change one thing or another (I mean, it was fine, but I like what I like). Eventually he decided he'd had enough of hanging lights (not of me), and so I turned to Yelp to see what I could find. Enter Deck the House and Jason and Moxie. They're reasonably priced, licensed and insured, and they really know lights. Their years of experience, creative vision, and innate attention to detail equip them with a level of expertise rarely found elsewhere (we also love that they use their own lights - no more storing and fighting tangled strands for us!). Not only are Jason and Moxie two of Santa's hardest working (and most professional) helpers, but they are also genuinely good humans who deeply care about their clients. This year they surprised us with a little something extra to brighten our holidays after a very medically challenging time in our daughter's life (and ours). What might seem like a small kindness to others was immeasurable to us and spoke to the core of who they are. Jason and Moxie are loving and lovely people (also, "Moxie" is a kick-ass name). We've been privileged to have them as part of our holiday lights tradition for the past several years, and without the DIY hassle for my dear hubby, Christmas (and maybe our marriage) was saved.

A professional response to a client's complaint should be to call and make things right but this business thought it was a good idea to call a client a "Karen" and berate her on Yelp. So in support of your customer you just insulted. I will tell others about my experience with you too. I was calling you on behalf of our HOA. You asked me to email you the description of the lights we wanted. I did and No response. I called you 3 days later then you said you will have a quote sent over in 30 minutes. No quote sent . 2 days later I call back and you never answered my phone calls or return my calls. Why so shady? Just say NO. Were you afraid to hurt my feelings? I'm assuming it was bc I was calling for HOA and you may not have been insured or licensed? In any case, please learn to communicate with your clients. Writing an honest review doesn't make one a Karen.
