At Stars & Stripes they truly care about the girls- and work on positive reinforcement and building confidence. We just competing at our first event and I love how the coaches keep it very casual and fun. They don't put excessive pressure on the kids but celebrate their achievements. It's been a super great experience. The parents and other girls have also been wonderful. We've made some great friends already. We're very happy at Stars & Stripes, love the family atmosphere, the owner knows what she's doing and the other coaches are great role models for the girls.

We have come and gone from Balcony a few times over the years. The coach you end up with makes all…read morethe difference. You can clearly see in some of their faces that they are not engaged and sometimes irritated with some of the kids. Our last run at Balcony has not been a good one. Last week I was sitting watching my child and someone pointed to some exercise she was doing and asked who she was. A coach she previously had said "I hate that kid". I don't expect everyone to love my kid but seriously, do you really need to single her out and say something like that in front of other students, parents, coaches and her mother? Yikes. We have done other sports and school programs with no problems but here if they don't like you for sometimes unknown reason you and everyone will know. It's too bad they are pretty much the only place in town. We are leaving again and this time I have learned my lesson and won't be back.

They were both so friendly and very inviting to my daughter.She is usually very shy upon meeting people.they seem to bring her right out of her shell.We are so excited to start at the gym tomorrow it appears to be very clean and well-kept and the children that were practicing seem to be very happy to be there by the smiles on all of their little faces.

If ever we had an issue (very few) it was addressed in a professional and timely manner. The only reason we aren't with them now is we moved There is, unfortunately ,a turn-over with teachers. This, like most customer service industries is beyond their control, and I've seen both owners jump in and teach if there was need. We have a theme each year which is one of my favorite things here...this year we were The Real Fashionistas of Island Allstars. Bows are made to match the Teams Name....love the uniqueness. The Owner is very transparent and whenever I've had ANY issue big or small he'll schedule to talk to me and any parent for that matter. I honestly can't say enough great things about Island honestly. The introduction to the coaches, and how they explain the program seems like something I really…read morewanted to get my daughter into. However, once she started practice, she literally was, for lack of better words. "shoved into a corner" because it seemed a lot of the children getting most of the coaching attention were because the coaches knew the parents on a more personal level, it just seemed like there was favoritism was going on there when I was there..maybe that's not what was going on, but that's how I perceived it. My daughter was literally bored because she didn't do anything her whole time there she would get one turned out whatever exerciser drill they were doing and then she was told to stand to the side. Very disappointing. I went up the street a few days later found iFleming Gymnastics and never went back. Perhaps they've gotten better with the coach to student ratio since.

I took my daughter for a try out, 1 visit, filled out a ton of paperwork, and then left. Her mom…read morehad a shift change at work and wouldn't be about to take her so she emailed them asking for our daughter to be removed. Technically, it was after 2 weeks so they went ahead and charged my card $209 for the monthly fee. I disputed the charge and they fought it. Why? Out of spite. The email I received from them stated that if I had "asked for a refund" they would've "considered it". Isn't that sweet? But because I disputed the charge they submitted paperwork showing the issue "No refunds". I sent a follow up email stating since me and her mom don't reside together there was a misunderstanding and I asked nicely they reconsider the refund and I apologized.... No reply! So the facts are I took my daughter for a 15 minute try out, never attended 1 class and was charged $209. That's my kind of family friendly business! Money hungry and spiteful. Find someplace else to take your children
