I've been going here for about three weeks now, and I'm really impressed. The place is spotless and…read morehas everything I need for my workouts, and then some! There's absolutely no pressure to buy extras or upgrades, which is a nice change from a few other gyms I've tried. I'm an older guy with plenty of years under my lifting belt, and I just walk in, do my routine, and feel completely comfortable. Sure, there are a few hardcore folks, but there's zero gym-bro attitude. Everyone I've encountered has been respectful, willing to share equipment, and just generally pleasant. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Don't be intimidated - people of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels seem welcome, and I haven't felt even a hint of judgment from anyone. It's inviting, not too crowded, and a great place to get your workout in. Hope this helps!

Even though I have most workout equipment at home, I needed to join a gym because of all the…read morerenovations we have been doing at home. I figured I could head here on my way home from work so I would not have any excuses. I signed up both my husband and myself but I mostly took advantage. I wanted a gym that was not too much out of the way, that had showers, and that had the equipment I wanted to use for my workouts. This place met all my needs. I was debating between this gym and 1 other but chose this one because it was brand new. Everything was kept in good condition and nothing was out of order when I visited. Unfortunately, I started my membership at the peak of those 100+ degree days so not only was I sweating on my way here, I was sweating the whole time I was here. The air conditioning was not cold enough at all inside on the floor or in the locker room. The front desk staff were always pleasant but some of the personal trainers did not appear professional. For example, there was a trainer that was supposed to be training a client but the trainer was more interested in staring at their phone. I was saddened by that because I was interested in obtaining personal training services because I need that accountability. I wound up cancelling my membership and hubs due to the discomfort of the temperature and the abundance of members in the gym. I think because it was brand new, so many people joined but there were no down times, no matter when I went to work out. I do have work out equipment at home so the gym gave me some motivation to get back into the home workouts again. The membership fees were comparable to other gyms in the area, as well as the amenities.

Went in to enjoy a free pass; met with Mgr. Lane in the Wildwood location. I said I might want a membership but want to try the gym; he then said after the awkward silence...well you have to be interested after I told him what type of classes I liked that the gym didn't offer and asked him again abouth the free pass and he said well you have to be interested in the gym. They used to let you just walkin and enjoy the gym instead I was pushed into a sales conversation with an unfriendly Manager who didn't even know how to smile or have friendly conversation. I was disappointed and left. The memberships are very expensive and I stated that which made the conversation more awkward but I'm one to tell the truth. I would never join this gym because it was too expensive for what it had to offer; the only good part was that you could go to many locations if you didn't like the environment or have other features as an option which I dont think is enough for what they charge and with the somewhat ghost town like atmosphere which was not great. Nice equipment though for muscle heads and cardio too.

I'm in Palatka visiting my dad for a few weeks and needed to be sure to keep up with my workouts…read more This happens to be his gym, so I figured why not check it out too! Their actual office hours (with staff available to assist) are M-F 9-5. The main doors are open during these hours but after hours, you do need a key card for entry. It's great that they are 24 hours for members and access is monitored via these key cards. On to the sign up process. You can purchase a weekly pass for $25 (there is a free 1 week trial pass but you have to be a local resident to take advantage of it.) Classes are extra but when I explained my situation they manager let me purchase 2 weeks worth of passes that cover 24 hour gym access and class attendance ($32 a week-for me a great bargain since I've been trying to go daily.) What really sealed the deal for me on USA Fitness as my temporary gym of choice was the robust class schedule (robust at least for a sleepy town like Palatka.) They teach classes that use the Les Mills format such as Body Pump, Body Attack and Body Flow while also offering HIIT classes and other boot camp style classes as well. The class studio has a separate entrance and while small, has a nice hardwood floor, decent air conditioning, cubbies to hold your belongings and really energetic and motivating instructors. The main gym has a decent amount of equipment. So far I've used the cardio machines and while a bit older, they are in great working condition. The best part is the lack of crowds-even after work. Perhaps it's crowded by Palatka standards but I loved being able to show up, have my choice of machine and for the classes, show up 10 minutes before and still get a spot. I've got one more week left on my pass and looking forward to another great and easy to accomplish workout at USA Fitness later today.
