Reading each mag front to back. I wanted to read one magazine per day but, being away from home...it was nice to read ABOUT home. It was like being home! Vegas magazines are all about clubbing or "things to do" and Contrast is all about the culture of "the aina" or "the land." My favorite articles were mos def about the people. The people that make Hawaii -Hawaii! The surfers, the hip hop artists, the fashion designers, etc. The photos of Hawaii almost made me tear, too. Shows me that home IS where the heart is! And I miss it a lot... Whoever does takes the pics for the mag SHOULD GET A RAISE! Photographers really captures the beauty of Hawaii, the beauty of its culture, and the beauty in its people showing that Hawaii is MORE than just sun, sand, and surf. I don't know where in Vegas I could pick some up but, if you're in Hawaii.....do yourself a favor and cop a magazine or two... And if you're a local living on the mainland, go home, get a few copies and show the mainland what HAWAII IS ALL ABOUT!!!

Fun to look at while having espresso (not coffee because this is luxury baby!) and it's nice to see your photo in the events section in thick glossy form. My only complaint about Modern Luxury is that they have one half in english and the other half duplicated in japanese. Couldn't they make it so you can rip off the half you can't read?
