Andy, the head piercer, who did the piercing was cool but i feel like he could've done a better job with how he performed the piercing. only used corks and no tongs although he had the tongs out. he gave a botched tongue piercing. had to remove it the next day, not even 24 hours later. will not be returning. he is a self taught piercer and unfortunately, it shows. even with the 30 years of experience, he should learn more and better ways to pierce and not the older techniques if that's even how they used to do them. he also shouldn't do piercings that he's not experienced with. but he still did it. stick to getting nose and ear piercings from him if you consider going here; not that i got nose or ear piercings from him but he has them posted on his page and has a portfolio of them. the place itself was a vibe tho, very queer friendly. read more

Huge shout out to Kayla who was juggling multiple clients including myself, making sure she herself was fed (please take more than two bites next time!) and was super fast with my piercing! I got my septum done and I hat needles so 10/10 job to her for not only being swift - but also not waving the needling around my peripheral and leaving it in my blind spot LOL Super clean, super chill vibes, very well organized and I really prefer parlors with a kind of open concept like this one does! I scheduled a consult with Pat Hawk at the Emmaus location. I had a lot that I wanted to do, and I never met him before. From the get go, I was greeted politely and Pat was very professional. We talked ALOT and he answered all my questions. He is very knowledgeable. He was very considerate of what I wanted done, I wanted his professional reccomendations based on my anatomy etc. We did a great job of meeting in the middle. Got a piercing here a few months ago and had a pretty good experience until I was having some issues and had a bump on my skin, came in to get the jewelry changed out just for the piercer to tell me "Whoever did this piercing did a horrible job, they placed it in the wrong spot and there's no fixing this so you need to take the jewelry out and let it heal." meanwhile I got it done in this shop, I am extremely frustrated to have paid for this piercing just for me to not be able to have it anymore and they told me I can probably never have a piercing in this spot again. I have never had any issues like this before with any of my other piercings that I have gotten done at other shops, would not recommend wasting your time with this place. read more

Due to COVID I have had a hard time finding places that are open and willing to do nose or lip piercings, but I was so happy to find Obsidian. My husband and I loved how clean & professional the parlor was and how accommodating they were as well. Getting my nose pierced was pretty nerve racking for me, but it was honestly the easiest piercing I've ever gotten, I can't wait to go back to get my cartilage repierced. I gave a previous 5-star review for my nose piercing (of which I still LOVE!). But, this week I went and got my first tattoos. Once again, I was blown away by the professionalism and quality of the work. From the artist who set up my app and explained the process (Joshua) to the artist who did the work. Savannah was so so patient with my 1) anxiety about the possible pain and 2) indecisiveness about tattoo look and placement. She re-drew and reconfigured to give me exactly what I want without any irritation about it. She was kind about my pain and enjoyable to chat with during the process. I highly recommend this place for piercings and tattoos, whether you're an older newbie like myself (40's getting first tattoos and piercing) who doesn't know the process and was a bit intimidated by it or a seasoned pro with many tattoos and piercings! read more

I got my second lobes replaced by Luna and she absolutely saved my ears. I originally got them done at a different shop that pierced me with brass earrings, but Luna was able to assess the swelling in my lobes and put in the perfect SAFE earrings for them to heal. I was able to schedule a tattoo appointment in a very reasonable time frame which was great, where as alot of studios are way overbooked and overwhelmed. My 7 year old daughter got her ears pierced by Andy today. Everything you read is true. He was wonderful every step of the way. He put us both at ease, giving her a sense of control over the whole process. She didn't even flinch when he put the needle in; he was quick and careful. Actual piercing was done in less than 2 minutes. And most importantly, he put safety #1. Everything was sanitary. Needles are single use and cause less trauma to the ear lobe. I started getting pierced in the 90's and when I moved to PA, I took them out because I didn't think I could get the same quality piercings as I did in the city. Then we found this parlor! I've gotten three new piercings in three months and will be back for more. The shop is immaculate, Andy is more than helpful and knowledgable and the jewelry is quality and very pretty. I used to go to tasha for years. I ended up working for her and nannying her children. When I had put my three week notice in, she cut all my hours watching them and made it clear she no longer wanted to see me. So once I had quit I started looking for new artists. She did a piece on my arm, charged me over $100 an hour to do it and didn't even finish it. So by the time I had the money to finish it I was polite and asked for an appointment. She was short with me and didn't make it seem like she wanted me there. So I went to my new regular artist. When I did that she went all over social media and complained about me. I saw her last night at the mall while she was with her children and she straight up got nasty with me. And yelled at me over a tattoo that just got her hair filled in. Completely unprofessional. When I was working for her, all she did was complain about her customers. On top of that, I get keloids incredibly easily so my skin cannot handle a heavy hand. Everything I have from her, even from five years ago, is still raised and bumpy. Would not recommend. read more
