I checked out quite a few tattoo shops in the Lehigh Valley before stopping in to check out Satori Ink. I was impressed the moment I walked in the door. There is a reception area separated from the shop that offers a bit of privacy to the clients having work done. The decor is classic and understated instead of the usual flash-lined walls and skulls everywhere. My ears weren't assaulted by high-volume heavy metal the moment I walked in the door. This was a place I could be comfortable for 3+ hours while having a tattoo done! I was talking with Zach about the artists and who I wanted to schedule with. We were looking at Quinn's schedule since she had the most availability. Zach asked what I wanted to get and I answered, "Snarf, from the Thundercats." Suddenly, from the back of the shop I hear a very enthusiastic, "OH! Can I do that? Can I do a whole Thundercats sleeve?" I joked that neither my checking account nor my boss would appreciate that, but with that level of enthusiasm, how could I say no? Dan was like a kid on Christmas morning when I said I'd set up an appointment with him. I received an appointment confirmation call from Lauren the day before my appointment. Friday evening, when I arrived, Dan had a great sketch all ready to go for my approval. I had brought another drawing that a friend had done, and I was kind of stuck on that pose. Instead of being put off, Dan went back and drew up a new piece with the drawing I had brought in meshed with the head from the piece he had drawn before. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for! Dan spent about 4 and a half hours on my tattoo. There was no point in the process that I felt rushed or as if he just wanted to get done. He put on a movie, we chatted, we laughed, and it was a truly fun experience. Near the end, both of us noticed the same thing with the piece; that the beard was just lacking something and seemed flat compared to the rest of the tattoo. Dan started adding some shading, but my leg was already rather red and swollen from the last 4 hours of work. At nearly exactly the same moment, we both suggested stopping there and waiting until it healed to see if it needed any more shading or detail. There was nothing at all to fault with my experience with Satori Ink. I'll be back, and I will recommend it to anyone who asks. The staff was professional, yet friendly. Long story short guys and I got the proof.Satori Ink is the most professional tattoo shop you can go to.The staff is amazing,#1 the staff makes you feel like family there..Shaun is the most amazing epic artist you can have to do your work.His work is one of the kind and very unique.He makes his artwork pop,100% realistic artist.His personality is professional and you can see through his eyes that he gives his work 100%,hes a true artist,his art comes from his heart and soul.One of the kind,theres only one of him,no one can not ever be him or take his place.,shauns been doing my work for the last 10yrs.Shaun is the type if he can not do the art you want he will prefer you to someone else..One day I made the worst choice of my life that I will regret forever I let another tattoo artist con me to go to him and he was also a pig. I had been searching all of the shops in Lehigh Valley to get my third tattoo which is a half-sleeve on my right arm. I had gotten tattoos before out towards the Kutztown area, so I wanted to do enough research to get a good shop with a good artist. My search led me to a few shops, but my first stop was Satori Ink. After going in to speak with Shaun, I was sure that I would not need to make any stops. I had found the perfect place. Shaun started my half sleeve on Thursday and it already looks amazing. The detail and creativity he has put into my tattoo is much appreciated. The shop is clean and all the staff were friendly and professional from the get-go. What impressed me the most was how down to earth and dedicated they were. I arrived at 8pm for a pretty large piece, again its a half sleeve. The shop closes at 10pm, but Shaun stayed and worked on my piece till 12:45am. This act alone not only demonstrates how dedicated they are, but also that they are 100% serious about their work and their customers. If you're like me and hunt reviews before ever settling on a purchase, I highly recommend you go to Satori Ink. You won't be disappointed. I like going to this place, They are very clean & do great work. The one thing I wasn't happy with is the owner was rude to me. My sister had an appointment with the owner & got pregnant so she gave me the appointment, I went to talk to him about what I wanted. I wanted to add flowers & vines to a peace I already had. He made it impossible to talk to him and made me feel dumb. I showed him my peace and what I wanted to add. at first he asked me colors I told him I wanted a fade from green to blue and he kept asking okay blue or green finally I got annoyed and said turquoise. Then he said he cant because my peace is to dark to put flowers on, and started explaining of doing two huge flowers one on top Nd one on the bottom. trying to make it a very expensive peace that I didn't even want. Finally I got so annoyed I asked to just get my money back I didn't want anything they told me i couldn't do that but i could switch people If i wanted that the owner is more expensive per hour anyways. I did switch people and did some thing else, I was happy with what I got. If you go to this place go to one of the workers not the owner. read more

Shaun has been my tattoo artist for 9 years and I honestly will not go to anyone else. He does excellent work and always ALWAYS makes sure that I am completely happy with the work being done before he starts. He listens to what I want, is never pushy about his ideas and is honest as to what he thinks will look best. He takes his time to draw up my ideas and doesn't get upset or mad when I change my mind (for the 2nd time) or make me feel any sort of way when he has to re-draw an idea for me. I recommend Shaun to everyone I know, even random strangers who admire my tattoos..aka his artwork. I have been to other tattoo shops (with friends) and the tattoo artists are not as friendly nor do they care how they treat the customer. If you're not sure what a tattoo shop should look like and how it should operate, then go into Satori and start taking notes. I've been coming here for years. It's always a great bunch of people with enough artistic integrity to give you their best work every time. I've gotten literally hundreds of compliments on Shaun's work and it's not even done yet. However, as should be the case in any establishment, if an honest professional opinion is asked of them an HONEST professional opinion will be given. They will not beat around the bush or lie to your face just to reap the rewards of moron who is willing to pay top dollar for let's say, a black line to cover up an exes name. I went in today with my mom to get my ears pierced, she got a nose piercing. I have gotten my ears pierced 3 times before, each time at a pagoda in the mall. They always got infected and/or closed up. Zach was the piercer I had at Satori, and explained to me why getting your ears pierced in the mall (or anywhere that uses a piercing gun) is AWFUL, and explained it all to me. How my ears closed up and all the symptoms I had, it all made sense. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, totally chill and professional. The piercing didn't hurt at all, and only a few hours later, there is absolutely no redness or swelling. Zach definitely knew what he was doing! I have 4 tattoos done by Lauren Quinn and I am in love with all of them. I constantly get complimented because the work is quality! Shaun has done more of my piercings including a chest dermal that is in and doing amazing still after 3+ years! I've purchased jewelry from Zack he is knowledgeable about the types of stones and what would be right for different piercings. Over all this place is hands down the only place I'll go for any work. I have seen work done by Shaun at Satori Ink and was very impressed. I decided to have Shaun do an arm piece for me. When i walked in i was impressed by the beauty and cleanliness of the shop. It did not look like the traditional tattoo shop at all. The staff were incredibly professional. Shaun is an incredibly talented artist. He designed an original piece for me that was better than i imagined. The tattoo itself did not scab at all. Shaun has a very light and precise hand. I just had a tattoo done by Reginald. My father passed away a few months ago and he always signed cards that he gave me the same way. Lots of love, Dad. Reginald nailed it. He was able to use my dads handwriting to do the tattoo. My heart is happy now for the first time in months. Reginald is super sweet. I was lucky enough to have Shaun be my tattoo artist for my very first tattoo. I was very nervous for my first tattoo, but the very friendly,knowledgable and professional staff and welcoming environment made that feeling quickly diminish. I got a rather large detailed realistic sunflower and bible verse on my thigh. I sat through a little over 2 hours and was more than comfortable and treated beyond professional and cared for by my artist Shaun. Bestp place ever! Shaun did my tatt's about 5 years ago when he was working at another shop and he did an amazing job, so I called to get my cheeks pierced. My friend offered to pay if I went to her guy instead so I did. HUGE mistake. The guy screwed it up really bad. So I called Shaun to see what he could do. Without any fuss that I went somewhere else he fixed them, he was more concerned about my health and safety than anything. That set it in stone for me, he's definatly the best. Was very impressed with the service. Shaun made sure to get me exactly what i was looking for and was very true and upfront about everything. Reggie was a great artist and my tattoo still looks great "5 months later" as it should unlike other places. I would recommend Satori for anyone getting their first tattoo or just doesn't like all the dark and skull type of environment. In Satori it felt like you were in a dentist or doctors office. Best experience I've had at a tattoo shop. I needed someone to finish a tattoo I started somewhere else and was not thrilled about the progress. Not only was this done, but the original was improved with better technique finer, sharper lines and significantly less pain. The finishing details Shaun added to the tattoo really turned it into what I was looking for from the start. Finding the right artist is the hardest part of the process. Went in about 2 years ago for a cover up. Amazing work done by Shawn W. We talked about 3 times before we came up with the tattoo I wanted (he wanted to make sure I thought it was perfect) He listens well, captured exactly what I was asking for. I only had enough money for the first half, still have to go back for the second, but I get compliments all the time on my shoulder piece. I got a nostril piercing done yesterday . Everyone is so friendly and makes one feel super comfortable. Zach did an amazing job with the piercing. It was a needle piercing and I did not feel any pain at all to my surprise. It was a clean and smooth job! Right on the spot I wanted the piercing to be. No pain, no giddiness nothing!
