Speaking as someone who usually hates going to the salon, that is really saying something. You see, I don't like having my hair washed by other people. I have neck pain and every time I get put in the sink, it hurts. However, my stylist was so gentle that I felt okay while she put shampoo in my hair. She then brought me over to get my hair cut and the chair was actually comfortable. I had told her that I was very sensitive due to my disability and she couldn't have been nicer about it. She kept checking in with me to make sure I was okay. My hair looked gorgeous after my cut and blow dry, which I usually never think. I was so happy that I could've hugged my stylist. My hair on the floor was immediately swept up, leaving it spotless. I couldn't believe how clean and accommodating this salon is. Everyone who works here is personable and kind. They offer free water and, on the day I went, pastries! I can't say enough how nice this salon is. The prices are good and the staff are happy to assist with any need you might have. I highly suggest booking your next hair appointment here.

I also went to Toronto and NYC several times for haircuts (tried HK and Japanese salons) but Dianne is by far the best! I have natural wavy hair but wave in a not-so-good way. My hair is thick and heavy which makes it very hard to style and to look good. All the stylists I met in the past suggested me to straighten it (which I don't want to cause it's costly and may look fake) but Dianne was the only one that didn't ask me to do so. She follows the hair flow when styling it and the end results just looked great every time. I also challenged her by straighten the top half of the hair and curl the bottom half and the result was again, perfect! It looked natural and healthy (compared to the one time in Taiwan which gave me a obvious line between straight part and wavy part). Overall, I highly recommend Dianne, especially for haircut and styling! (She also does nails but I haven't tried it.) TIP: book her at least two weeks in advance (especially for longer sessions like coloring, curling and straightening) as she is so popular!

They both talked about how much they loved their haircuts and getting to chat with Care, their hairstylist. I'm not big on sitting in a chair for 20 minutes while someone cuts my hair and makes awkward conversation. So it's definitely a relief to have someone who not only takes their time giving you a nice haircut but is also not awkward to talk to at all. You feel relaxed afterwards, both from the haircut and the conversation. I would highly recommend going here whether you are a girl or a guy. You do have to make an appointment ahead of time so just call and leave a message and you usually get called back within the day.

I had also booked a brow wax, so she did the wax first, (which was great), shampooed my hair (love that because not all places that I have been too will do that) and then gave me an EXCELLENT pixie. Parking was widely open on Main and I was seated only a couple of mins before I was seen. Overall a great experience! I don't know that stylists get enough credit for being on their feet and using their hands all day while having to maintain a sunny disposition (despite whatever they may have to manage in their personal life and/or the myriad of oddities they likely have to endure at the hands of clients).... the salon here certainly deserves that acknowledgment. My visit to Tonic was a truly refreshing break from the hectic realities of life to thanks to their upbeat, welcoming environment with a very genuine and engaging stylist (who heard exactly what I wanted and delivered it!). It is clear that Allison seems takes great pride in her work and emulates a strong confidence in her approach (seems well deserved!). Equally skilled and engaging, Allison was a true pleasure to spend time with and be styled by. I hope the very best for her in the year ahead. Another facet of this visit that stood out to me was the very clear affinity the stylists seem to have for one another with frequent shared laughs and dialogue.
