Cannot recommend Obey My Commands dog training enough. Sal was amazing to work with.. he answered all of our questions and reassured us when we were nervous to leave our Bernese Mountain Dog, Russer, for the 2 week board and train. We were amazed when we picked him after the 2 weeks.. he was able to focus on walks, has 'place' and 'home' down, and overall behaves much better in public. We reached out to Sal because we needed help getting Russer to focus and listen to us in public.. we can now take him to the beach, walks, and just about anywhere without worrying about him lunging at another dog or barking. Russer is also very obsessed with his 'uncle Sal.' Whenever we need to go away for the weekend, we drop off Russer to stay with Sal which is a relief to know he's getting a training refresh and is staying with someone we fully trust. He also has such a blast socializing with the other dogs. Overall, the team at Obey My Commands knows what they're doing and is a team you can fully trust with your pup

I cannot begin to express how happy I am to have found Sal & Obey My Commands Dog Training. My one year old female Cane Corso was very fearful when I would walk her on leash, which resulted in barking aggressively towards other dogs & people. She's a 90lb dog & I knew I needed to correct her behavior. When I met Sal, he was professional, respectful but also very personable. He suggested that Sonoma needed board & train for at least two weeks, because she needed to be constantly exposed toward other dogs in a controlled environment which he would provide. I knew she needed it but was still nervous to be separated from her. I decided to go through with it, because Sal made me feel at ease & said I could check in whenever I wanted & he would send videos of her progress. And he was very true to that, I checked in when I missed her & received progress videos of her. It's now been a couple weeks since I brought Sonoma home from her board & train & it is such a huge difference & improvement. She is now able to walk without lunging & barking toward other dogs. She is even very playful with dogs of all sizes. Sal & his team worked to give Sonoma the confidence to be able to do all this & I am so happy with their work & can't wait to continue her progress! If your dog needs training, go with Sal, you will be so happy with this decision.

My bf and I adopted a year old sweet dachshund mix a few months ago and with a puppy it was so difficult to walk him or have him listen to us since he's just full of energy and has a bit of anxiety. Our pup Ekko often gets too overstimulated and anxious on walks and would bark, pull and react to dogs or people. I was so desperate because I myself was getting frustrated trying to get him to listen. I searched for trainers and finally got in contact with Sal. We appreciated that he had an in person consult since the last two trainers we inquired with really didn't seem to care to get to know Ekko and address what needs to be worked on. In our consult appointment Sal not only recognized what Ekko needed but also demonstrated his ability as an amazing trainer with his own dog and we were definitely impressed. We agreed to the two week board and train. Yes it was hard not having my puppy with me but it was worth the wait because Ekko had not only improved in his behavior but is still our sweet loving pup. Walking with him is now not a chore and more enjoyable. He doesn't pull on the leash or react much to other dogs to the point we get compliments of how well mannered he is. I know Ekko, myself and my boyfriend still have a lot to work on and retain but knowing Sal is there to help us maintain his training gives us such a relief. When reading reviews I know it can feel like maybe it's too good to be true, take it from this. Sal is amazing at what he does and he genuinely cares, has a great love for dogs and your fur babies will be in great hands.

Cali does great on walks thanks to Sal's guidance.

Thank you Sal and team for your help with our girl, Cali. After rescuing Cali from the OC animal shelter, we soon realized that we were in over our heads with a one year old very stubborn, very smart, and very strong German Shepherd. We could not get her to settle at home or listen to our commands. She was jumping all over furniture and was very mouthy. We knew these behaviors had to stop, but we didn't know how to accomplish anything with such a stubborn girl. We made the tough decision to reach out for help from a professional. Sal was recommended to us, so we decided to schedule a meet and greet. After meeting with Sal, we could tell that he had a love for dogs and knew what he was doing. Even though we live almost an hour away, we decided to hire Sal for the two week board and train. That was one of the best decisions we have made. Throughout the two weeks, Sal sent videos of Cali's progress that were reassuring. It felt like a long two weeks, but when we got Cali back, she had made huge improvements. She could walk well on a leash, no more zoomies in the house, much less mouthiness, and was teachable. She is also non-reactive towards other dogs now, which gave us the confidence to take her camping. Sal, we cannot thank you enough for transforming our beautiful girl into an amazing companion to our family.

My Golden Retriever, through no fault of his own and entirely because of my intense love and spoiling, was like a wild tweaker with total disregard for safety and rules. After months of meeting with and searching for a trainer, I decided to move forward with a two-week board and train program. I'm going to be honest--I was a mess during those two weeks. In addition to crying in public during drop-off, creating the most uncomfortable and awkward situation for Sal and my dog, I spent the next two weeks in a state of constant anxiety. After all, I had essentially left my dog with a stranger based on one meeting and online reviews. However, Sal was incredibly patient. He responded to my check-ins promptly and provided video updates, which reassured me that my dog was completely fine and definitely not being drop-kicked. After the training, walking my dog--which was once a safety hazard and a pathetic, embarrassing display of authority and dog ownership--has become a relaxing and enjoyable experience. He no longer drags me around or goes into a frenzy over people or other dogs. During our first walk after the board and train, multiple people approached us to comment on what a sweet, well-behaved dog I have. The training didn't just improve our walks; overall, my dog has become much more obedient and mellow. The board and train program provided us with a strong foundation that has, and will continue to, improve my dog's behavior. However, it was also a learning experience for me--teaching me how to interact with my dog in a way that ensures he has the best quality of life. For anyone considering a board and train program with Sal, I highly recommend it. And if you're worried about leaving your dog for an extended period of time--coming from someone who nearly climbed Sal's tree because "I just wanted to make sure he was okay"--I can assure you that my dog was well taken care of and absolutely adores Sal.

    Sal's training helped us.

Sal has helped our dogs and us immensely in a short period of time. Sal has a consistent training method and it works. We recommend him highly. We adopted two rescued Golden Retrievers in early May. A mother and daughter pair who had little known history except that it had been rough based on the condition they were in when turned into the rescue. Their training had been little or none. I found Sal on Yelp and was impressed with his 5-star reviews. He took our dogs from the start of dragging us around the park while on leash, ignoring commands, and instant, intense prey response. In six sessions, Sal trained them and us on loose leash walking, sit, down, place, and stay. The golden girls are now easy to walk and much more controlled.

Sal is an amazing human being and incredible dog trainer. My 4 year old German Shepherd, dragged me around like a wet toy. After one lesson with Sal her leash behavior was perfect. Sal taught me so many things in our 6 week private course. I am thrilled to recommend Sal for anyone looking for a true professional dog trainer.

I sent my 6 month old puppy australian shepherd for 2 weeks of board and train because she was just too crazy of a puppy. she would pull while walking, not listen to commands and would be super reactive to other things. after the 2 weeks she was like a new girl. she was able to walk super well, listen to commands and overall changed for the better. Sal and Andy were really helpful and very excellent at what they do and explaining what the parents (us) had to do for her too!

I did private lessons with my Golden puppy who needed to learn how to walk without pulling. Sal was amazing to work with. Not only did he teach my pup how to walk well on a loose leash but also many other obedient behaviors. I'm so thankful that I found Sal.

    Loki

I just recently wrapped up some private training sessions with Sal and honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. We adopted my 2 year old Yorkie mix Loki a couple of months ago and my wife and I, along with our kids, instantly fell in love. But what started as a blissful time slowly started becoming stressful as he got more comfortable, and a lot of his bad habits started to come out. He would lead our walks by incessantly sniffing around and would get overly excited when he saw other dogs, lunging and barking. The most frustrating thing however, was his behavior inside the house. He would constantly jump up on our dining table and counters searching for food, and steal food from my kids whenever he had a chance. He would also chew up my daughter's toys and dolls so we were forced to contain him to an area and crate him during meal times. It wasn't exactly deal-breaking behavior but I knew that this wasn't how I wanted it to be. I sent Sal a message and he responded to me with the information I needed quickly. We set up an in person evaluation and he gave me an honest opinion of what Loki needed, nothing more and nothing less. After our first 1 hour session, Loki was walking and behaving like a different dog. But seeing him "get it" and understand what he was supposed to do was the most rewarding part, because it showed me that there was definitely hope. Starting with leash behavior and some basics commands, Sal tailored our sessions around what I wanted to work on with Loki. He gave us some great advice on handling him indoors and gave us the tools we needed to communicate with our dog effectively. While Loki is not perfect, the difference has been night and day. We now have a dog that no longer jumps up, steals food or chews up my kid's toys. We are able to fully enjoy him inside our house without worrying about what he might do. I walk him to pick up my son from school and he will lay calmly outside next to me. But most importantly, I have the confidence to teach him in any situation and can look forward to doing all the things that we want to do with him. To me, that is worth far more than the reasonable price Sal charges. If you are even thinking about training your dog, regardless if they are aggressive or just unruly and stubborn like my dog, give Sal a call first. He is the real deal. Thanks again Sal for helping us to fully enjoy Loki. Our family could not be happier with him.

If I could give Sal more than 5 stars, I would. The other reviews do not lie. He's changed Kona completely (in a good way) where he is now walking, following our speed, directions, and jumping/biting us way less. For reference, here's my arm before training from all his bites and scratches from jumping. We were previously scammed by another trainer. But Sal has been the most reassuring and amazingly talented. He's totally changed our lives and Kona is thriving as only a 5 month old Aussie. Sal, you are amazing. You can clearly see the drive and passion for what he does and we are tremendously and eternally grateful for working with our best friend.

Pay ZERO attention to that review. As a psychologist, I pay very close attention to behavior, regulation, communication, and emotional energy, and at no point did I witness cruelty, aggression, intimidation, or abusive behavior toward me or my dog. What honestly amazed me most was that he never said one word to my dog. There was no yelling, chaos, or "training performance." It was all action, energy, body language, timing, and an understanding of canine psychology that I have never personally seen before. Before we started working together, Daisy was going after every dog she saw. Within two hours, we were calmly walking and standing next to dogs that were within a foot of her, even sniffing her, and she was completely relaxed. The transformation was honestly remarkable. I think some people may misunderstand firmness, honesty, or structure as being "mean," especially when dealing with difficult dog behaviors, but there is a huge difference between abuse and someone confidently leading both owner and dog. My experience felt safe, effective, loving, and honestly incredible. For the first time in a long time, I left feeling hopeful and relaxed instead of anxious. I am extremely grateful I trusted my own experience instead of one negative review.

It honestly brought back the feeling of being a first-time parent--questioning every decision, but without a nurse hotline for guidance. My husband and I were especially struggling with how to manage Chloe around our young kids. She was very unruly, reactive on walks, and difficult to control around other dogs. We found SoCal Dog Training through a friend's referral, and choosing Vladae ended up being one of the best decisions we've made. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first--so many trainers promise results--but Vladae truly delivers. The onboarding process was seamless. The initial FaceTime consultation helped set clear expectations, and I really appreciated how upfront and honest he was about the work required. What stood out most to me was his long-term commitment--knowing I could always come back for refreshers gave me a lot of confidence that I wasn't just getting a short-term fix. The training sessions are where the transformation really happens. After each session, it genuinely felt like we had a new dog--but that's also where the responsibility comes in. You have to consistently follow through with the exercises he gives you. In many ways, it reminded me that investing in my dog's future takes the same consistency and commitment as investing in my two kids. She's now quite literally my third kid. Chloe used to be extremely reactive--barking, pulling on the leash, and even jumping up on our toddlers. Vladae helped me understand the root of her behavior and showed me how to properly address it. Now she's calm, more confident, and walking her has become something I actually enjoy. Seeing that transformation has been incredibly rewarding. It wasn't an easy process, but it was absolutely worth it. Also, a special shout-out to Antonina for being so kind, responsive, and accommodating with scheduling.

During those two weeks, we clearly informed them that we would be out of the country and that SMS wouldn't work, yet they didn't remember until I emailed them, twice. Over the 15 days, I could barely see my pup on the camera, and I only received THREE email updates and one 10-second video of my puppy, which didn't even show anything meaningful. It felt like it was recorded just for the sake of sending something. One of the updates was also sent only after I emailed them the second time. Being told we'd be getting one week of free pet boarding for first-timers was WHY we chose to stay here. The staff also told us we could call for a refund if we were mischarged. Two weeks later, when we called, the lady told me they were going through reorganization, so workers were moving around, maybe that's why things were missing, and that the free first week only applied to daycare. I would have to speak to the manager about my concern. The manager obviously had the answer in mind and avoided my phone calls a couple of times, on top of my calls getting hung up more than 2-3 times during transfer. When she finally picked up, without hesitation to my question, she said she couldn't refund me for the first free week, but she could offer me a discount, or a free daycare day or some other discounts. Lol. What's the difference between giving me back a 1-week refund as your team promised versus a discount? Why not solve the problem instead of dancing around it? Why am I getting "punished" when your workers told me the wrong thing? Sure, you might lose a couple hundred bucks, but what's more valuable is that you're losing is a customer who will no longer trust your business, and the word-of-mouth effect that could've helped bring in more customers. As a business owner, you should understand better why pet owners trust you with their dogs and what they expect, especially in Orange County. Unfortunately, our first experience was horrendous and extremely disappointing. The level of disorganization and hassle is beyond disappointing. If you're looking for a pet boarding hotel, I strongly suggest finding somewhere else. Like the lady said, they're going through reorganization, so they might be too busy taking care of customers right now anyway.

He trained my husband and me as well as our puppy! So grateful. Tommy has a gift for knowing how dogs think and he shares that knowledge as part of the session. We never felt rushed to finish a lesson when he came to the house, he just dealt with our issues and reminded us to keep practicing with our dog until next time. We even decided to enroll in his weekly puppy class so that our puppy would learn to behave around other dogs. His private dog park is a god-send as we live in a condo and don't have a yard for our puppy to play in. She loved going there and we'll be back! We highly recommend Tommy. He showed us how to anticipate what our puppy was going to do before she did it and correct her misdeeds before they take place. Five stars!

Tommy teaches but you have to do what he says or you have wasted your money. I signed up for 5 lessons and looking forward to the rest. I will update when we are finished.

After talking with Tony and watching his webinar he referred us to Xavier who from the first 15 minutes had my dog sitting down calmly and accepting directions. Thank you both so very much!

As a first time dog dad, I haven't sharpened my tools around understanding my dogs emotional state and how threatened she feels and how to react or treat such aggression. So its harder for me to empathize and as such know how to handle it. I ran into Josh while walking my dog. I always see him walking his dogs, and they are so well behaved and so focused on him. So, I inquired about their training and he and i scheduled a session. Josh shared tools to improve these behaviors first from a actual tools piece like replacing a harness with a collar and a firm leash rather than a flex leash. Next, he helped me understand the psychological state of my dog and why she does what she does, it was enlightening and helped me better understand Nuggets. Finally, Josh taught me exercises to employ to redirect Nuggets focus to me. I couldn't be more grateful for the service Josh provided. You can tell Josh loves what he does and it shows by how good he is at it. That being said, I struggle to understand how anyone could complain about Bark Busters, my experience was one in which Josh , an incredible professional, was trying to help me be a better dog parent, and for that I am eternally grateful.

All were well behaved. It didn't smell like a kennel, it had A/C. When they stay overnight, your suppose to pack their food in individual servings. They asked if they don't eat, would it be ok, if they added broth or chicken pieces to their meals. He was usually good with people but super reactive with other dogs and animals. We got him as a puppy, he was always super high energy and reactive, even to animals on TV. We had to always try to walk him where there were no dogs or people. This past summer we went on vacation and our oldest son was watching him. He took Clyde on a walk when they saw another dog across the street, Clyde went crazy, started barking and lunging for the dog. My son got in front of him and Clyde ended up biting him several times. When we found out about the incident on vacation we had no idea what to do. We thought we had to give him up, it broke our hearts. Then I found Sogand when I was searching for trainers and options. Her reviews were great, but what sold us was our first conversation with her. We had talked to several other trainers during our initial search but no one gave us hope yet realistically assessed where Clyde was like Sogand. We were at the airport waiting to board our flight home. I'll never forget our first conversation with her. She patiently listened to us and then reassured us that Clyde was not a lost cause. She was direct and honest about her approach, and confidently said she could help Clyde. From our first session with her we knew we had made the right decision. She commanded obedience from Clyde like he had been her dog his whole life. Within 10 mins, she had him interacting with her dog and not going ballistic. This has never happened before. We have had to avoid other dogs all the time. In this first session she was able to assess several of Clyde's bad behavior and patterns and correct it. Because of the severity of his behavior and having bit our son so badly, she recommended we do the board and train for intense training. This was the best decision we ever made. Clyde came back a changed dog, and more importantly she trained us in how to train Clyde. With her help we have been able to keep up Clyde's training. We still meet with her for one on one sessions once a month to complete Clyde's trainings. The best result came yesterday at Thanksgiving, we had 22 guests and one other dog. I texted Sogand and she gave us guidance on how to handle the the event with Clyde. We followed her instructions and Clyde did amazing. People who have known Clyde said he was like a different dog. I can't recommends her enough! Her approach was just what we needed. She doesn't just train dogs, she becomes an integral part of the dog and owner's life and journey. Because of Sogand, Clyde has a new lease on life and we are able to keep our beloved dog without always fearing that something horrible will happen!!!

We chose her 2 week board and train - aggression rehabilitation service, after a week her and her staff noticed my dog still being very aggressive in protecting his food bowl and she extended his training another week (no extra charge!) so she could really focus on that aspect to make sure Dumpling's aggression was addressed. Wife and I also highly recommend her private sessions after the board and train. 2-3 weeks is definitely not enough time to make sure behavior issues are completely addressed, so her sessions helped make sure we properly did our daily trainings with Dumping. Her sessions also evolved the trainings we did at home as our dog's aggression level kept going down and focus on his high alert/anxiety responses to stimuli, and try to help him associate his dopamine response to being relaxed. She also helped identify a food allergy that made him itchy, which added to his higher anxiety level. All these things added up and now our dog is a lot happier and hasn't displayed a snarl or showed his teeth in anger to anyone or any dogs in months! Thanks Sogi for helping Dumpling and us and hope this review helps others choose you over other trainers out there for their dogs.
