To note, this is a review on the Louis Vuitton store within the Munich mall. Specifically, in regard to the female manager with short blonde hair. I purchased a Neverfull from this location in July, 2024. By August, 2024 the straps had begun to fray and peel. I took a 3.5 hour train to return the bag in person. Upon arrival the employees who greeted me were helpful and professional. However, the manager herself was incredibly condescending, rude, and unwelcoming. I had noted that bag had recently been purchased providing proof with the receipt and asked to either return the bag, or, for a new one to be provided as it was barely a month old. The manager provided me a lecture on how I should be "more sustainable" and provide the "faulty bag to Louis Vuitton", give them "6-8 weeks to fix it", then they would return it to me. When I was unaccepting of this she smirked, rolled her eyes, and stated that "the world is trying to be more sustainable, you should try too" and "you can carry the bag". I responded by telling her a "€1600 bag should not be faulty and to please provide an example of how to carry the bag without the straps". She began to argue with me that the bag was okay, not faulty instead of proving a solution. Long story short, she continued to disregard and provide negative feedback to my request and trying to argue, making myself and 2 other friends feel horribly unwelcome to the point where my friend chose to not make her intended purchase. After about 15 minutes of back and forth the manager stated "you can learn to have a professional conversation", walked away, then came back with a new bag. I thanked her and stated that I was sorry the conversation had to become so tense, but, I appreciated she replaced the bag. She continued to berate me on how I should have been more understanding of the situation and sustainable. As well as, she was ONLY doing this because someone in Frankfurt told her to. I have been a loyal Louis Vuitton customer for years, after the experience I will not be continuing to purchase as their quality and customer service has horribly decreased. If Louis Vuitton cares so deeply about "sustainability" maybe they should start with their quality; handbags and managerial service. read more

I think this store is good. It has different choices and brands but very expensive. Even their sale items were still very expensive.

"Shop in Shop" concept, as of September 2017, there are many renovations in progress. Fantastic for Perfume and Makeup. Many brands, fantastic customer service. Negative - Sorry, but for such a high end department store, I have to say it was a little off putting to see this sign in the restrooms. In a luxury shop, that should be "the Harrod's of Munich" you expect the best customer care, but it's quite the opposite. You often find umpolite clerks, the loyalty system is totally broken. I had to go to the helpdesk 3 times to update my points on my account. Now it's almost February, on my account the points have gone from 3000 to ZERO, and I HAVE NOT received ANY voucher. Again this is supposed to be a LUXURY shop, in GERMANY, the homeland of efficiency itself. And also the freaking bar does NOT accept ANY kind of card, just cash. Like many reviews I have read, it indeed is a department store filled with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Celine etc. However, they have the best wifi from each boutique and from the general department store. And I believe you get 3 hours worth of wifi before you have to sign in again. Just the wifi worth a full star when you are travelling from out of country. However, if you do come to europe for designer brands, it if the right places for you, they pretty much have all of them. So made it a very easy stop. And yes they do global tax refund too. So don't forget to ask for the refund forms. So selections for branded goods another star. What it surprises me is their found court all the way upon the 5th floor. Lots of variety, a buffet-like style but made to order pasta or asian food, better choice salad buffet, dessert, coffee etc etc. They got pretty much covered. And they are all pretty decent food. Not really just food court food. And yet the best is the outdoor seating in these well designed huts. You can order drinks (mostly alcohol) and sit in one of those nicely decorated hut, with a heater, too!! It's really nice to sit there in the cold winter. Comfortable and stylish and cozy at the same time. Not sure if that's only available for winter. read more

This is not the place for amateur shoppers. You gotta know your Bosses from your Joops, your Gucci from your Ricci, your Laurens from your Laurents, your Alexander Wangs from your Vera Wangs, your Westwoods from your Eastwoods. But if you do, this is the place to shop. Munich is filthy rich, and Oberpollinger is where the snootiest Müncheners unload their discretionary Euros. You'd expect to find this place on the Maximilianstraße or near the Fünf Höfe, but don't let its middle-market location opposite (gasp!) Saturn fool you. Oberpollinger will put an admirable dent in your kids' inheritance. Take their customer loyalty card programme. They demand a not insignificant €5K every year to bump you out of the bottom tier. (Do I even spend that much on ALL my clothes in 12 months?) It takes €2.5K a year before they send you their magazine for free, and a cool grand for them to comp your parking. But there are some great reasons even a déclassé skinflint like me might check it out. The first is that their sales are awesome--mid-season discounts often start at 50%. The second is the homewares department upstairs. A real tour-de-force of modern designers; some well known, some up-and-coming. And a treasure trove of quality European kitchen gear, ceramics, tableware, flatware, knives, and crystal. Want to learn the difference between a white or red Burgundy glass, and their equivalent Bordeaux glasses? Or learn why you need an entirely different sort for your new world wine? Find the answer on the 4th floor. Oh, and Oberpollinger is a member of Berlin's KaDeWe group, so you can earn and enjoy your loyalty privileges there, too. read more

Giant department store. Full of stuff, but frankly IMHO not a lot worth buying. Over the years I have regularly bought some food, the odd piece of clothing, or some batteries etc. there because it is convenient and there was one near where I worked. However, the clothes I bought ended up lasting only a season or two, and I more than once came across passive-aggressive or plain unfriendly, unhelpful staff. My worst experience was the one time I purchased something significant there - a fairly expensive wristwatch. Its back came off after a few weeks of wearing, and when I brought it back, with guarantee and payslip, they still refused to have it repaired. Telling me I need to send it to the manufacturer - contrary to what the documentation stated. Will not go to Karstadt again if I can help it. For clothes, you are better off going to H&M or Ludwig Beck. And for everything else, there are plenty alternatives too. read more

Had to check it out after looking at it on Google Earth. Looked interesting. Now that I've been here a few times I get it. Quite the store, it turns out. They have just about everything one could want, and food, too. The clothing on offer is mainly better quality than H&M, better made, more durable. The staff are always so helpful, and if you take the time they'll be informative and almost friendly. My German is not too good, but for the most part staffers have been patient. Found the restaurant on the top here a welcomed surprise. Nice diversity in selection of dishes. Stations for each type. Good value for money, however I think the best are the deserts, followed by the noodle section where you can create a massive dish with yourbown ingredients and style. The seating area both inside and out is very nice and relaxing especially after shopping. read more

Yesterday I went shopping for a gift for my aunt's birthday and also a gift for my mother who would be arriving in a few weeks and I knew what I wanted and that would be a handbag and a purse as well as some cosmetics. I first strolled around the ground floor of Oberpollinger which was very luxurious, many of the brands have their items displayed in units or shops of their own and it is very well laid out, very bright and I have to say very well done, it really gives a luxurious feel to it. I first went into Louis Vuitton which was a superb store, everything arranged lovely and easy to get to, the only thing is that it was so full and I mean full of Arabs and it really lacked the personal touch. I finally found a really nice sales person and he was really nice, I explained what I wanted and that it needed to be perfect as it was a gift for my mother and he showed me two bags one of them from the signature collection handbags, while he was explaining me about the bag Arabs and tourists kept rudely interrupting and he also assisted them in front of me, I felt the personal service really lacked in this store unlike other international Louis Vuitton stores especially if you going to buy a bag for 2400 Euros and spend more on luggage and accessories leaving the shopping after spending thousands. For me, this store was a mad house and I decided to return when the tourist season was at an end, maybe in September. Therefore the store sales man jotted down on paper the number and name of the bags that I wanted to buy and he also advised me if they were out of stock they would personally order then in for me. I continued on and I walked into Long champ where I received a really nice service from the lady, I wanted something elegant for my aunt such as a hand bag and purse and something she could use everyday, the lady showed me many bags but recommended the Long champ Roseau satchel bag and matching purse, as I was sending the gifts to London, she also went to the storage and gave me a good fitting box to send it in. I left long champ oberpollinger really satisfied and that I received a really good personal service. After that I went into the cosmetics store which was really nice designed, very bright and each brand had their own section so there was no looking at the shelves at hundreds of different branded perfume. Even though there wasn't a lady there to assist me at the time, I purchased the Bvlgari rose essentielle, the sales lady for that counter arrived and apologised as she was with another customer and for the apology she gave me 10 Euros off. Yes I really like this store, it is full of designer and branded items, it is owned by karstadt but as there premium stores. It is large and very spacious and very luxurious. Its basically one of the stores where the elite, the rich and the upper class want to shop and spend. read more

NICE! it is very luxurious department store to shop at. You can find most of the premium brands here in all departments. On the ground floor there is Louis Vuitton, Bottega, Prada and the list goes on. I almost felt like I had walked in to a Harvey Nicks. The food court looked really nice too but did not have time to stop. There is a really wide variety of foods but it looked like it was better quality than a standard karstadt lunch.
