We were on lanes 17 and 18, and our table did not have a QR code for ordering food. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went to the shoe rental counter to ask how to order. A staff member told me ordering through a server would be faster and said she would send someone over. Another 15 minutes passed with no service, so I had to go back and ask again. The same woman who initially said she would get a server ended up being our server. From there, the experience only got worse. This was my first visit, and she never mentioned the happy hour menu. After I had already ordered and paid, my cousin discovered it. When I mentioned that I hadn't known about happy hour, her response was, "Everybody knows" it's from 4 to 7. No, everybody does not know. That was an unnecessarily rude response to a customer who had never been there before. Then my tacos never arrived. When I asked about them, she flatly told me I hadn't ordered any. We had an entire conversation about the tacos because she told me they were out of beef, and I agreed to chicken instead. To then be told I never ordered them, with no effort to resolve the issue, was infuriating. She hadn't given me a receipt either, so I couldn't verify whether I had been charged. I ultimately gave up and went without eating. We received no napkins, and our drinks arrived approximately 5-10 minutes after the food. We also had to pay and were prompted to tip before receiving our order, so I had already tipped someone whose service turned out to be terrible. Unavailable menu items and an occasional mistake are one thing. Being rude, dismissing a customer's concerns, and making no effort to correct a problem are another. Her attitude was the worst part of this visit. I felt brushed off when I needed service and dismissed when I questioned a missing order. The bowling was enjoyable, but I will not spend my money somewhere I'm treated this way. This server's treatment of us cost Uptown Alley a returning customer.

Wish this house (and so many other bowling houses) would share with open bowlers the principle of lane courtesy so that everone could bowl safely. There are computer scoring machines at each lane; these could be used to educate new comers to the sport. I've recently seen an example of this being done very well at another facility and it seems crazy that every house isn't doing the same thing. We all care about fun and safety, right?

My kiddo has been wanting to learn to bowl, so this was the second place we have tried. They have sooooooooo many balls for younger kids since this is targeted toward military families. There were ample 4, 5, 6, and 7 pound balls. It was soooooooooo easy to find some smaller ones for my kiddos to use. I really appreciated that. You ask at the front desk for them to set the bumpers, but once they set them, they raise and fall each time for the players. So hubs and I could earn our gutter balls fair and square, while the kids got higher than they would have earned without them... Definitely better than places where you either have to have them up or down the whole time. No music was playing although they have one of those jukeboxes where you pay for songs on a phone app, but I rather liked how we weren't screaming over the music and pins falling. We ordered some two cheeseburger combos and a nachos and cheese. I really liked that when you order nachos, they grab you an individual bag of either Tostitos or nacho cheese Doritos, so it is consistent sized every time. The cheese dip is that delicious, iridescent orange cheese at ballparks and convenience stores, but boy does it hit the spot. It is a little pricy for $5.25, but the burger combos are a STEAL. Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions, and the condiment bar has so many options: mustard, ketchup, relish, ranch, hot sauce, honey mustard... it also comes with fries and a fountain drink (with orange soda, fruit punch, root beer, regular soda, Powerade... all the choices my picky kids love!) for $8.25. Cheaper than I pay at fast food chains these days and it was GREAT. Char marks and everything. Yum! You pay by the hour, and for shoe rentals and I do wish that the computer had a timer so you know how far into the hour you are, so you can gauge if you should start a new game or not, if you forgot to look at the time you started after trying to find multiple balls, get appropriately sized shoes and everything it takes to get two kiddos ready to bowl. Bowling was a breeze, and navigating the computer system to keep score was easy. The seating in the alleys were leather couches, and a table to have food at. There was a waitress walking around getting anything we needs, like food, drinks or problems that needed to be solved. Bathrooms were clean and amusing with signage. It made me giggle. The supplies were well stocked. The alleys and property inside and out were very clean. The surrounding area seems to be making a change, but it is still questionable in some areas, and there is a lot of construction nearby. I always felt safe though. There was a misunderstanding with the reservation process and turns out we never had a reservation. Either way Ben stepped up and just made things right. He was great. He took care of us. When they bought this building in 2007 it was a wreck ( the pin setters were breaking a lot we all persevered) and it took lots of time and money to update and repair a lot of problems. Then Rebecca had a health scare and praise God she is still with us. This building was ordinally built in 1946 by a lady named Mary Ann, you would not know it by the way it looks now. The most modern equipment. We just Love them and wish them all the best in this world. BTY, the burgers and chicken tenders there are the bomb. I think bargain games are now $3.00.
