My request was to restitch over all of the original stitching on the entire cover. A woman called back and stated the cover was not worth stitching, and I needed a new cover. The cover was 10 years old and stored inside over the years and there were NO rips or tears in the cover. She proceeded to quote me $850.00 for a new cover. I told her I don't need a new cover, just a restitch. She then quoted me $350.00 to restitch the cover. I then asked her to just price the 5 foot seam stitch failure. She quoted me $40.00, however, it would be cash only. I took the cover to another canvas shop and asked for a total restitch of the original stitching and asked the owner of the shop his opinion of the condition of the cover. His estimate was based on storing it indoor the majority of the year, it should last 5-8 years and the canvas did not show any fatigue. He saw no reason to replace it. I paid $100.00 plus tax. For the restitch at reputable canvas shop.

A chain store was not able to fit me in until late Jan/early Feb but I was able to drop it off that day and finished within a week. Additionally, I asked about a shredder/vacuum/chopper that's been disassembled and if he could repair it. He said to take pics and bring those in before hauling it into the store. The video would go out periodically, but the audio was still there. The picture would return if I knocked on the front of the unit, but it was happening more often. There's a $30 diagnostic fee up front, which I understand. Said he would call me this afternoon. They called around 4:00 PM the same day to tell me it was fixed. I guess I had expected an estimate, but I also knew it was probably a minor repair. The total was $63, minus the $30 diagnostic fee. The TV works just like new! I had been afraid I might have to buy a new TV, but they fixed mine in a matter of hours. I might have been frustrated if the repair price had been higher without my authorization, but in my case, I was pleased with the outcome. A new TV would probably be at LEAST three times that price, and mine fits on our bookshelf perfectly, and the new ones are shaped differently. I've had other TV's repaired here in the past, so this is usually my first stop before I buy a new TV. He also sells used/refurbished TV's, DVD players, stereos, etc...

I like that! Rick diagnosed the problem, he ordered the parts, and I paid the service fee by check. Following the same procedure, he and Mike arrived at 8 a.m. the next Monday and installed the parts. Then they checked the circuit board. Nothing. Rick gave me a price for the board, including the parts he had just installed. I decided for that cost I could buy a new washer. The techs were very kind, agreeing, and charged me only for the service, which I'd already paid. They did remove the new parts to return. Note to self: If the washer is so off balanced that it "walks" several inches, get it checked out now. That rattling/walking can loosen other parts.
