Just moved to Seal Beach and was looking for a new dentist. I'm glad I found Oaxaca, Ong & Jensen. I had a cleaning last month and my first procedures (crown and filling) with Dr. Ong on Tuesday. What a great experience. He is very gentle, explains every step, and I felt no pain. And their state-of-the-art technology is amazing! I took my 82 year mother in law for an initial visit with Dr. Oaxaca. They were so sweet to her and very honest. At that age and given that she has Sjogren's Disease, they could have tried to take advantage, but they did not! They said her teeth looked great. She had a minor issue with her gums, and they said it should clear up. I had taken my son to them a couple years ago. They said he had a ton of cavities. I was worried it might not be true, as he didn't seem to have much discomfort. I even took the X-rays to another another dentist for a second opinion, but it WAS true! So, I can tell you that they are incredibly thorough and very honest. We are very much satisfied with them and would highly recommend them. read more

I went for a consultation, I have a PPO dental insurance... As a new patient they will ask you to fill online your profile, together with your insurance, address, contact info. Staff and dentist are very polite, but there is a catch for that. They are looking for your money, because they are not contracted with any known insurances. Before you start any treatment they will tell you the dental work you will receive will be invoiced as "outside network" so most money from the bill will be from your pocket, not from the insurance as is supposed to be. Be aware! Because the office location is a block away from Main St in Seal Beach, they think they can do what ever they want and tell you in the last second your insurance is not good for us, we want all the money we can get from your pocket. Or in Seal Beach are only rich people and they don't care about this aspect. Be smart, look for an other dental office ! I wish I can give Zero stars to this post read more

The front office staff is extremely helpful and really works with the patient for appointments and billing; can tell the office works as a team. Dr. Ong is outstanding! I have been coming here for over a decade. Both my daughters have had dental emergencies (one knocked a tooth loose, the other bit a hole in her cheek), and the girls' pediatric dentist was useless, but not Oaxaca & Ong. They immediately helped, Brenda coming in when they were closed for one situation. And not only did they help, they fixed the problems both times! I've had lots of work done, too, over the years (root canal, crowns, cleanings) and all top notch. Before them, I've been to numerous dentists, some that were equally as high tech and professional, but none combined that with the care and kindness I've encountered at Oaxaca & Ong's. I just had my first "Root canal" and hopefully my last, on 1/18/18. What most people think about having a root canal, is what I too thought. I was lucky enough to have been told it was needed, before the tooth "pain" forced me to have it done. Well, I must say the team of Dr Oaxaca, (I call him Dr O) had his awesome R. D. assistant Nanine made the experience remarkably "pain free"! I was, all I can say is "astounded". My pain level is normal. The truth is, the whole procedure, IMHO was at most "uncomfortable'. The entire staff there has always been first class. I have been going there since 1975 when Dr Walt Babcock & Glass were there, when Dr O came on after Dr B retired he immediately showed he too was an excellent dentist. I had an old gold crown fall out last Thursday night (from a different dentist) and I emailed Dr. Oaxaca's office on Friday morning after reading the reviews on Yelp. I received a very warm and friendly email right away from the office manager (Brenda) offering me a complimentary consult the next day - on a Saturday morning! Upon arrival, the receptionist (Carla) greeted me and was very nice. She handed me the usual paper work to fill out and before I could even sit down in the lobby to fill it out, Dr. Oaxaca came out to the lobby to introduce himself and ask me about my situation. After talking with him briefly, he left me for a bit to finish my paper work. Once I completed it they brought me back to an exam room right away - no waiting. He looked at my tooth and did not put any air on it as he knew how sensitive it was. He had the assistant take an xray to see if there was any significant decay. Fortunately there was not much decay, however the crown has worn a hole in it over time so it needs replacing. In the interim, he numbed up my gum very gently (I hate injections), re-cemented the crown so the tooth wouldn't be exposed, and gave me a price quote to make a new one and didn't charge me a dime! Since I don't have dental insurance I was especially delighted. Even though I didn't really have any significant dental work done (yet), I would highly recommend Dr. 'O' so far! read more

I am terrified of dentists!!! The only dentist I'll go to is Dr. Oaxaca. Everyone is awesome, from the receptionist to the hygenist to Dr. Oaxaca himself. Everyone takes their time to answer all my questions. Most importantly, it doesn't hurt! The staff is so careful not to cause any pain. The equipment seems like the latest thing. They have large flat monitors w/dvds during those long procedures. The monitors are also pc's so you can see your xrays! Very cool! I've decided, Dr. Oaxaca will be the ONLY dentist I will see. I had a patient at my work recommended this place so I decided to try them out. I've had horrible dental experiences in the past full of pain and unnecessary treatment being dragged out to multiple appointments. My first encounter here was amazing I had a problem tooth that needed a root canal I was scared to death having had one at my previous dentist. I knew it had to be done so I agreed on treatment. Let me tell you I felt very minimal pain and that was only to numb the area. I was pleased at how gentle and caring Dr. Jensen was. Since then I've brought my whole family and we're all happy to go to the dentist now vs avoiding it at all costs! The staff here is great. Everyone very professional and knows what they are doing. Dr Oaxaca is probably a very good dentist. There are two reasons I didn't give this place five stars: 1) It's VERY expensive ($300 for a routine cleaning!) and 2) Dr. Oaxaca keeps pushing me to re-do all my dental work. I probably have over $50k of dental work in my mouth. Over the years, the teeth have yellowed and the gums have receded. But I'm also not 30 years old. If the dental work is still holding up, there really isn't any reason to spend money to re-do something that still works. I get the impression that Dr. Oaxaca sees $$$ when I open my mouth. I have to protest and push back every time I see him. When I do, I get a look of disgust from him. It makes me hesitate to see him when I really should, choosing to only when I must. read more

If you are afraid of dentists, you can breathe a sigh of relief, because I have found the best dentist in So. Cal. It's Dr. George Oaxaca! He's been my dentist, my family's dentist, and most of my friends dentist for years. Several people at my office drive a long distance to have him as their dentist and why? He is wonderful, virtually pain free and with a terrific chair-side manner. I personally have terrible teeth. You could buy a Mercedes with the silver I had in my mouth (recently removed and replaced with beautiful composite fillings). I'm a big BIG baby. He really slows the pace down for me to check if I'm holding up during procedures. And not only that, the receptionists are very warm and friendly and all the hygienists are excellent. All have large screen TVs to watch. And they all have those super clean water bottles to fill instead of the water tubes that collect more bacteria than a toilet bowl. Remember that from 20/20? The entire clinic is spotless and happy. And when you are done getting your teeth cleaned, you can walk around the corner to Sweet Jill's to load up on sugar. :) read more

Dr. Oaxaca and Dr. Ong & their staff at Seal Beach Dentist are awesome and by far the BEST in the business! I've been a patient for several years now and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is warm, friendly, very professional and interested in making your visit as comfortable as possible. The dental hygienists are great too! They are very thorough and get the job done without killing my gums. They even take Saturday appointments. Their prices are affordable (not cheap, but not outrageous either). For those without dental insurance, they offer a 6% discount for cash/check payments or 3% discount for credit card. Parking on the street can be a minor inconvenience, but no big deal. All in all, always an A+ experience. If you're searching for a new dentist, check them out. You'll be glad you did! read more

We switched to Dr. Jensen's office after having a bad experience with another dentist. The staff here are so welcoming and professional. My 12 year old had to get two of his baby teeth extracted earlier this week and I felt completely confident and at ease knowing Dr. Jensen was handling the procedure. Love this office! Everyone is so nice and it's clean. They are all pretty knowledgeable. Dr Jensen is so great. I havent had work done yet because I'm pregnant but my bf has gone twice already to have things fixed that our previous dentist didn't do properly and he said Dr. Jensen was so gentle. I had been seeing another dentist in Anaheim and getting my teeth cleaned three times a year - I thought I was doing great. Hah. When I had a problem my Anaheim dentist couldn't handle - I switched to my husband's dentist, Dr. Oaxaca. I first saw Barbara, the hygenist, for new patient x-rays and cleaning. Barbara told me that I was the only patient she had ever seen whose teeth she could not clean in the normal time slot. I had to make a second appointment for her to complete the cleaning, and the surface of my teeth feels like glass, and continues to feel that way. All dentists are not the same.
