This a small place, but got some really great people working here. I came here at least once a month after I found out of it.

This is exactly the spa I've been looking for! The place had calming healing energy and I can tell I'm in great hands.

Upon arrival they were a little disorganized with the appointments, but accommodated me for my appointment time. Cindy was fantastic. Clearly a masseuse- best foot massage during the pedicure. The phone number listed online wasn't working -- it doesn't even accept voicemail. When I finally found a number that connected, I was directed to a different location than expected. The person who took my call, "Diane," promised she would handle my appointment. She never showed up. When I arrived for my scheduled pedicure and foot massage, the only staff member present responded to my mention of an appointment by yelling at me to "call her!" -- visibly annoyed. Shortly after, she yelled again asking "inside or outside?!" with no explanation. As a first-time visitor, I had no idea what she meant, and no one offered to clarify. The disorganization didn't stop there. When I asked basic questions, staff couldn't answer them. At one point, employees were arguing with each other in front of me -- that is simply not normal or acceptable in a customer-facing business. Things got more uncomfortable at checkout. I presented my gift certificate, and the staff member called her manager and began yelling in Chinese over the phone. When I expressed discomfort, I was dismissively told "that's just how we speak." That is not a response a paying customer should ever receive. The one bright spot was Suzy, who performed my pedicure with genuine care and professionalism. She is the sole reason this isn't a zero-star review. A note to the owner: Please fix your contact information -- one of your listed phone numbers doesn't work or accept voicemail, and it creates a poor first impression before a customer even walks through the door. More importantly, please invest in training your staff to treat customers with basic respect and warmth. Yelling and arguing are not acceptable in front of guests. If internal conversations need to happen, take them to the back -- out of earshot. If owning a business in the U.S. has been your dream, please don't let customers become casualties of that journey. We should leave feeling relaxed and valued, not stressed and unwelcome. With some changes, this place has real potential -- but right now, the experience does not match that promise.

Not only was he able to resolve the shoulder issue in one session but he demonstrated through careful assessment and checking of his work that he was in lockstep with each progressive gain in my mobility and lack of pain. I'm still trying to figure out when a tip stopped being a tip and became an entrance fee…read more I called Friday to book him a 90-minute massage with April, a therapist he had seen before. During the call, the representative told me that April had actually made a note regarding the tip that was left after his previous massage because apparently it was "insufficient." For context: the massage was $90 and we left a $30 tip -- more than 33%. Apparently, that still wasn't enough. I was told April wanted a $40-$50 tip. Did I think that was ridiculous? Absolutely. But against my better judgment, I said fine and went ahead and booked the 90-minute appointment for Saturday. Fast-forward to Saturday. I receive a call asking to change his 90-minute massage to 60 minutes AND move it to a completely different time. Then, unbelievably, the tip conversation comes up AGAIN. After all of that, I'm ultimately told that April actually just doesn't want to do the massage. Excuse me... what happened here? This is a customer who has been coming to your business for more than a decade. He paid the advertised price for his previous massage and left a 33% tip, yet somehow that resulted in a note being placed about him, a request for an even larger $40-$50 gratuity, and then ultimately a refusal to provide the appointment we had already scheduled. If a massage therapist requires a $40-$50 minimum gratuity in order to accept a client, then perhaps that amount needs to be included in the price of the service. At that point, it's no longer a tip -- it's a fee. And making a note about a longtime customer because a $30 tip on a $90 service wasn't enough? That's certainly a new level of customer service. After more than 10 years of patronage, this was an incredibly disappointing and frankly bizarre way to treat a loyal customer. The massage may be $90, but apparently keeping your appointment requires winning the gratuity approval process first. Needless to say, after this experience, The Massage Place has lost a customer of more than 10 years.

January 20, 2020…read more I have been consulting with Grace Bruno, Certified Massage Therapist for 5 years now. I sought out a specialist in lymphatic massage due to a long-standing unilateral edema stemming from a childhood injury. My left leg was re-injured in my 30's, necessitating a venogram evaluation that revealed damage to a venous valve in my left side. Regular weekly lymphatic massages were indicated, to prevent the development of chronic stasis with damage to the leg, and a risk of thrombophlebitis. As a doctor, I knew well that these things would need to be addressed. A previous course of lymphatic treatment needed to be re-instituted and I was fortunate to find Ms. Bruno. Grace is highly trained, and educated in massage techniques. She is skilled in Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral, Swedish, Shiatsu and Deep Tissue massage. The first two require highly sub-specialized training and can be difficult to find if you need that treatment. Grace is a practitioner who is technically skilled and intuitive. She has enormous kindness as well as integrity. She is a good choice for anyone who suffers from chronic back pain, any kind of arthritis, recovery from surgery and it's complications, and other conditions. All of these cause stress and are exacerbated by it. Her training and early practice involved an in-patient medical setting. Her experience with illness and recovery sets her apart from most massage therapists. Furthermore, as a person, she is indefatigable in her quest for knowledge and excited by pushing the boundaries of her competence, to understand as much as she can about each person she treats. I couldn't recommend Grace BRUNO more highly for all of these reasons, and have referred patients of mine to her with excellent results. M. However do note that it's cash only. While they do offer 60 minutes, 90 minutes is the sweet spot. For the location and services, it's a steal at $99 for 90 mins, with $33 recommended tip. This is a legit Thai spa, with staff who were trained in CMT in Thailand. The place is clean and the music is not intrusive. Lighting is dim and you can truly relax and feel like a new person after being rolfed. Despite a plethora of available modalities, the sweet spot is a Swedish-Thai combo. You get the best of both worlds, with the Thai introducing warming oils to the mix. Note: No shower facilities available, so if you are finicky, skip the oil. Although it's recommended. As soon as you enter, you fill in a questionnaire for any focus areas and any other instructions for your masseuse. Within 2 minutes you are let into your private massage and the masseuse works her magic. There's no clock watching and you get the entire time you booked. As the massage progresses and the modalities switch, you can feel the tension and knots disappear. It reminds me of Thailand level massages. There's limited conversation and you simply let your body relax and feel renewed. Tip: Medium firm is a sweet spot for massage intensity.

The massages were always top tier and we always tipped well until we noticed a change in quality of service. Somewhere along the line we started experiencing lackluster service or massages that were not what we asked for; a typical Swedish massage always did the trick but we recognized that we would receive Thai or combo instead so we stopped coming. On a whim we tried back and were provided BeBe and I genuinely forgot the name of my own masseuse but they had a short haircut and gave me an absolutely terrible experience. The massage moves were inconsistent, they kneaded too deeply into areas even after noticing the physical discomfort, they left me cold and uncovered while they went out to grab the towel to clean the oil and even after noticing me cover up when they returned, removed the sheet yet again. They were not in sync with my partner's masseuse BeBe (who I am told also did not perform a thorough or qualified service; slinging body parts about and forcefully pressing down on his legs instead of using a light touch) and ended abruptly despite not completing the full massage. We have had a few negative experiences but this was by far the WORST. We absolutely did not tip and did so without remorse as payment felt like too much for the actual service provided. I mean no disrespect to the woman at the front desk but if the masseuse cannot handle the job, they should not be doing it.
